  • Patent number: 8781406
Abstract: A receiving apparatus obtains identification information from a transmitting apparatus via a cable communication when the transmitting apparatus is connected with the receiving apparatus via the cable communication while the receiving apparatus is being connected with the transmitting apparatus via a radio communication. The receiving apparatus judges whether obtained identification information is the same as identification information of the transmitting apparatus which is connected with the receiving apparatus via the radio communication. When they are same, the receiving apparatus transmits an instruction to the transmitting apparatus to switch an output of contents data from the radio communication to the cable communication. When the transmitting apparatus receives the instruction, it switches the output of the contents data from the radio communication to the cable communication.

Abstract: A method is provided for operating a directory assistance system having a plurality of different network elements operating on different protocols. The method includes receiving, at a first network element, operating on a first operating protocol, an incoming directory assistance call from a caller. A universal call identifier data is then assigned to the call. The call is then transmitted to a second network element, operating on a second operating protocol, wherein the same universal call identifier is accepted by the second network element. A record is generated of the exchange of the call between the first and second network elements based on the assigned universal call identifier data.

  • Patent number: 8265084
Abstract: A local network connecting system includes a first local network, a second local network, a mobile terminal. The first local network is connected with a gateway and a first server assigned with a first local address. The second local network is connected with a second server. The mobile terminal VPN “Virtual Private Network”-connect to the second server through the first local network. The gateway provide mapping of local address for a terminal connected to the first local network. When a packet is sent to the first server from mobile terminal, the mobile terminal assigns a second local address unused over the VPN-connection to a destination address of the packet instead of the first local address, and transmits the packet to the gateway. The gateway translate the second local address into the first local address as destination address of the packet, and transmits the packet to the first server based on the translated destination.

Abstract: The flexible through-connection process, operational in a Mobile Switch Center, that provides support for allowing the call routing processor of the Mobile Switch Center to independently perform a through-connection/switch-connection based on different types of calls so that the Mobile Switch Center can make a through-connection at different stages of the outgoing call leg. In operation, the present flexible through-connection process includes in the call control processor of the switching system a new parameter in the existing inter-process message which is sent to the call routing processor at call setup time. • Patent number: 6961567
Abstract: A system and a method are provided for managing network activation with a carrier and registration with a service provider. In one example, the method determines a network activation status. If the network is not activated, a utility is used to perform the activation. Further, the status of registration with a provider is determined. If not registered, a request is sent to a server of the service provider for a registration file configured to gather user registration information. The registration file is then received from the server. The registration file is executed on the personal computer. Data gathered by the registration file is then returned to the service provider's server to complete the registration procedures.

  • Publication number: 20040174981
Abstract: According to the invention, it is possible that a plurality of terminals participate in interaction processing without imposing limitations such as presence or absence of pre-registration and a kind of a terminal. Further, even if the interaction processing is disconnected halfway through a task, it is possible to resume the interaction processing from a status in which disconnection has occurred. While ContextID for identifying the interaction processing and StateID for indicating a degree of progress of the interaction processing are stored in a ContextID database 6, ContextID and StateID are transmitted to the terminal. Then, in the case where the same ContextID is received from another terminal, another terminal is caused to participate in the ongoing interaction processing halfway through a task. Further, the interaction processing is caused to be resumed from the point, in which the interaction processing is interrupted, by referring to StateID.

  • Patent number: 6321098
Abstract: A wireless communication device provides streamlined access to recording functions that allow a user to readily record information from a called directory information service provider or other predetermined number. Directory service provider numbers and other predetermined numbers are stored in the system and compared with a user selected destination telephone number. If a match is detected, the system display automatically enables a recording function or prompts the user to manually activate the recording function to permit the user to manually record information obtained from the directory information service provider. Alternatively, the information may be automatically transferred directly into the system without user intervention through a communication link using a formatted data exchange. The system includes options for editing the recorded information, permanently storing the recorded information, and completing a call to the telephone number provided by the service.

  • Patent number: 4719413
Abstract: An apparatus for testing the crosspoints of an RF switching matrix injects a test signal having the characteristics of noise into the matrix. The test signal recovered from the matrix is mixed with a frequency-swept signal and the difference signal is applied to a bandpass filter. The filter provides a window through which all of the frequency-shifted components of the recovered signal pass during the period of the frequency-swept signal. The total energy of the components in the window is continually monitored during the sweep period. A comb generator provides the test signal having a multiplicity of substantially equal amplitude components, uniformly spaced over a selected frequency spectrum. The frequency-swept signal is provided by a VCO having a sawtooth waveform input voltage. The amplitudes of the test signal components are sufficiently low that if coupling occurs between the test signal and a configured external antenna, the resulting transmission is virtually indistinguishable from noise.
