Patent number: 6357922Abstract: A high speed antifriction bearing receives minute quantities of high performance grease or oil at selected intervals from an electrically controlled injector having a nozzle that is directed at the rolling elements of the bearing. By minimizing the lubricant in the bearing, the lubricant does not accumulate in quantities that render it susceptible to working. Patent number: 5253733Abstract: In order to appropriately distribute a lubricating oil of high viscosity to lubrication points through a simple construction in oil and air lubrication, in a preferred embodiment of the present invention, three distributors 8, 9 and 10 are provided between oil feed passages 7, the most downstream one of which is connected at the downstream end of the passage to a fourth branch passage 14. Quantities of the lubricating oil are passed through the holes A, B and C of the first distributor 8, those E and F of the second distributor 9 and that H of the third distributor 10. Other quantities of the oil, which are nearly equal to each other, are sent to three lubrication points through the other holes D, G and I of the distributors 8, 9 and 10 and a first, a second and a third branch passages 11, 12 and 13. The three lubrication points are a point at contact-type oil seals 5, and two points in a four-train conical roller bearing 3.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 1992Date of Patent: October 19, 1993Assignee: Koyo Seiko Co., Ltd.Inventor: Takeshi Miyachi

Patent number: 5207118Abstract: An improved pedal shaft core is characterized in that the contact surfaces of both shaft core and shaft bearing are designed to be oblique and conical to enable the bearing to comprise roller nest bearing and a casing of circular and conical arc so as to enhance the rotational stability of the pedal shaft core. The toothed cup of the shaft core comprises grease filling apparatus of an inclined type located on the external surface of one end thereof. The improved pedal shaft core further comprises of a pair of W-shaped non-return washers of waterproof and oil-proof nature.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1991Date of Patent: May 4, 1993Inventor: Chia-Ching Chen

Patent number: 5205656Abstract: A housing for a ball or roller bearing includes a first annular part and a second annular part which removably mate together to define a volume in which a bearing is housed and held. The two parts are provided with lugs and corresponding mating components so that when the two parts are offered up to one another and turned relatively to one another, the two parts interlock, O-rings being provided to preload the assembly. One of the parts is provided with a grease nipple.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 1991Date of Patent: April 27, 1993Assignee: The Torrington CompanyInventors: Peter T. Cornish, Reginald Williams

Patent number: 5114248Abstract: A bearing assembly for a shaft mounting in a bore of a housing which comprises an outer ring having two outer raceways for inner and outer rows of rolling elements. The outer ring includes a seating surface section seated in the through-bore and a radially outward-direction flange section, a cover having a contact surface of a ring-shaped flange for sealing off the roller bearing on the outside, and at least one oil bore in the outer ring between the two outer raceways. The oil bore extends radially from the outside toward the inside to a reservoir for the rolling elements to supply or carry away a lubricant to or from the reservoir. The outer ring also has a lateral surface section of a ring-shaped extension carrying the outside outer raceway. This lateral surface section is adjacent to the outside end surface of the flange section of the outer ring. The inner surface of a centering extension is tightly seated on the ring-shaped extension.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1991Date of Patent: May 19, 1992Assignee: SKF GmbHInventor: Ortwin Harsdorff

Patent number: 5007504Abstract: A machine assembly has mist or migration lubrication distributed by an air stream from a supply site to remotely spaced bearings. An elongate clearance hole is drilled within a wall of the machine member, and cross-drilling is provided to interconnect the supply site and bearings with the clearance hole. A flexible conduit is closely-fitted to the cross-drilled holes, the conduit being bent through a smooth curve. A hardenable material is flowed into the clearance hole to cement the tubing in position, to thereby provide a smooth transition path for conveying air and lubricant from the supply site to the bearing.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 1990Date of Patent: April 16, 1991Assignee: Cincinnati Milacron Inc.Inventor: Raymond L. Patent number: 4997415Abstract: A ledger assembly for a continuous rod cut-off includes a rigid beam (12) carrying ledger tubes (10) and pivotally supported by fibreglass springs (16,22). Vertical springs (22) resist the cutting force of the cut-off knife (30) and allow reciprocal movement of the tubes (10) while imparting a vertical displacement to the beam (12) so that the tubes follow a straight path along the rod line (28). A horizontal spring (16) allows this vertical displacement while providing lateral stiffness for the base of the beam (12). A drive arrangement for the beam (12) includes a lubricating system for a bearing (42) of a connecting rod (36) in which lubricant is collected for return by action of centrifugal force in a housing (72) located on the side of the bearing opposite a lubricant supply path (86, 88) through a crankshaft (40).Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1990Date of Patent: March 5, 1991Assignee: Molins Machine Co.
