  • Patent number: 6095625
Abstract: A file for storing and displaying cards is disclosed. The card file consists of a base, a cover, and a tray, the cover being pivotally attached to the base and the tray being slidably disposed with respect to the cover and pivotally coupled to the base. The tray is attached to the base in such a way that when the cover is opened, the tray pivots downwardly, thereby presenting the cards at an angle. The weight of the address cards keeps the device in either the open or closed orientation chosen by the user. The card file in accordance with the present invention can be suitably adapted to display a picture or time keeping instrument in the face of the cover, so that when the cards are concealed, the card file serves as an office accessory.

  • Patent number: 5993926
Abstract: A suspension system for plastic sheet material comprising:a base sheet; anda suspension element attached to said base sheet, said element including:a first strip affixed to said base sheet and having an exposed adhesive release surface,a second strip hingedly mounted on said base sheet, proximate to said first sheet, and comprising an adhesive surface at least partially overlapping said adhesive release surface to enable said overlapping adhesive surface of said second strip to be easily lifted off said release surface of said first strip, whereby plastic sheet material inserted between said first and second strips, sticks to said adhesive surface of said second strip, thereby becoming hingedly attached to the base sheet and whereby, when said adhesive surface of said second strip is lifted off the plastic sheet material, the plastic sheet material is released from said base sheet and the adhesive surface of the second strip can be reused, since it overlaps the adhesive release surface of the first strip.

  • Patent number: 5876817
Abstract: Described is an adhesive clip including a back sheet with a first layer of removable pressure sensitive adhesive on its front major surface, and a second layer of removable pressure sensitive adhesive on its rear surface; and a front sheet of polymeric material having a size adapted to at least overlay the first layer of removable pressure sensitive adhesive on the back sheet which has a first edge attached to the back sheet with the front sheet overlying the first layer of removable pressure sensitive adhesive. When the back sheet is adhered to a planar substrate by the second layer of pressure sensitive adhesive, the front sheet can be pivoted away from the back sheet a distance affording positioning an edge portion of a sheet to be supported between the front sheet and the first layer of pressure sensitive adhesive and pressing of that portion of the sheet to be supported into engagement with the first layer of pressure sensitive adhesive so that the sheet will be supported along the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4514919
Abstract: An apparatus for storing, displaying and identifying photographs having a plurality of transparent, overlapping pockets provided with adjacent opaque writing surfaces for carrying information pertinent to photographs held therein is described. In the preferred embodiment, each pocket is formed of a folded transparent member which is attached along the fold to a backing member. The transparent member thereby forms two transparent panels. Between the panels an opaque sheet is inserted which extends slightly beyond the edges of the panels. An adhesive-backed opaque strip having a surface which may be written upon is placed over the edge of the opaque sheet and the edges of the transparent panels, thereby forming a pocket having two compartments and opaque writing surfaces which do not substantially block photographs held in the compartments.

  • Patent number: 4400899
Abstract: The album has an imperforate backing member. Attached to the backing member are a plurality of transverse, parallel rectilinear strips each coated at its underside with adhesive. The strips are each adhered to the top face of the backing member, each strip having a section inclined away from and free of the top face of the backing member. Adhered to each of the inclined sections of the strips is a bent-back section of a transverse release ribbon. The ribbons have extending tab portions which may be grasped by fingers of a user to pull the release ribbon off and away from the strip to uncover the adhesive-coated inclined section or portion of the strip. The ribbons and inclined portions of the strip form adhesive-free wedge shaped spaces into which photographic snapshots may be inserted in predetermined overlapping relationship.

  • Patent number: 4320591
Abstract: A flip-type album for protectively storing and displaying photos in an orderly sequence. The album has a pair of front and rear covers which are hinged together, the covers having a tray-like configuration such that when the front cover is superposed over the rear cover, it forms an enclosed box therewith. Each tray-like cover includes parallel side walls whose spacing substantially matches the width of the photos, a series of holes being formed at corresponding positions along the inner surfaces of these walls to define a set of bearings at each position. Supported by the bearing sets are flexible swing bars having a length greater than the width of the photos, the opposing ends of the bars being inserted in the bearing sets by first bowing the bars to shorten the distance between the ends.
