Abstract: A housing body with a card-retention capability includes a wall that has an outer surface and an inner surface. The outer surface is formed with an elongate card-receiving recess that has a recess bottom. The outer surface is further formed with a first cover-restricting flange that extends from a front end of the card-receiving recess and that cooperates with the recess bottom to form a cover-receiving slot, and a second cover-restricting flange that extends from a rear end of the card-receiving recess and that is formed with a tool hole communicated with the rear end of the card-receiving recess. The first and second cover-restricting flanges cooperatively form a card opening that is adapted to permit placing of a card on the recess bottom. The inner surface is formed with a cover-manipulating recess to communicate with the rear end of the card-receiving recess.

Abstract: A sign holder assembly for holding signs for displaying prices and other information on merchandise display racks, shelves and peg hooks includes a base, a support member and a holder body for selectively accommodating a sign. The holder body is pivotable in relation to the base via a hinge located in the support member. In one embodiment, the base includes a resilient fastener and, spaced therefrom, a finger which are both secured to the bottom surface of the base. The resilient fastener and the finger engage a wall surface adjacent a respective hole in a display rack or shelf. In another embodiment, the base can be mounted on a peg hook. The holder body can include a bottom wall, a pair of side walls and a top wall which together define a frame-like element. These walls cooperate to form a socket allowing a sign to be selectively secured within the holder body.

Abstract: A transportable sign or message holder supports and displays replaceable signs or messages. A transparent front panel of polymeric material permits a sign or message to be viewed through the front panel. A rear panel, located behind the front panel, forms a cavity between the two panels and receives and supports a replaceable sign or message. The front and rear panels are attached at the bottom of the cavity and support the lower edge of a sign or message in the cavity. A pair of suction cups are mounted along the side edges for holding the two panels together and for detachably mounting the panels on a supporting structure.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of placarding which is characterized in that at least one sheet (1, 1b), preferably of corrugated cardboard, is provided with printed matter on at least one side. It is thereafter provided with at least one score/groove (2) crossing the sheet, about which it is thereafter folded up into an easily transportable unit. At a placarding site the sheet (1, 1b) is then unfolded to its full size and applied in a holder (3, 3b) specially intended for this. The said holder is made to retain the sheet (1, 1b) in that at least one part of an edge area of the sheet is enclosed by the holder (3, 3b). The invention also relates to a system of placarding adapted to this method.

Abstract: An extruded plastic label strip for shelf front mounting. The strip is formed of relatively rigid but flexible plastic material and has a clear front panel joined at a bottom edge to the bottom edge of a back panel structure to form a continuous, upwardly opening label pocket. An overlay panel is joined integrally with an upper edge of the front panel and extends downward over the front thereof to form a downwardly opening continuous channel for receiving thin temporary information slips to flag special items. A narrow margin of soft plastic material is co-extruded to a rearwardly facing surface of the overlay panel in a region thereof forming a gripping throat. Primary pricing and information labels are inserted in the upwardly opening label pocket, while special slips, calling attention to special sales, new product items, etc., can be temporarily slipped under the overlay panel in a highly visible display orientation.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a recyclable molded exterior cover made of plastic with a plate holder at a back side of the cover. The exterior cover is mounted on the apparatus so as to swing between open and close positions. The exterior cover and the plate holder, which holds an information plate, are integrally molded.

Abstract: A support provides a window for the display of advertising material. The support has a gripping feature on opposing sides for engaging an airline fold-down tray by its side edges. A bottom flange functions as a position limiting device so that the support is correctly positioned onto the tray. The advertising medium is held within a groove between the window and the under surface of the fold-down tray.

Abstract: A storage and sales unit having a storage space and a display space and including a frame receivable of a display element and movable between a first position in which access to the storage space is prevented and a lockable second position enabling access to the storage space, while the display space is continually accessible. The storage and sales unit also includes locking members for locking the frame in the second position.

The operational guide also includes a device for mounting the card to the bottom of the seat of the chair. The mounting device is adapted to allow the card to move between an extended position wherein the pictorial guide is visible to an occupant of the chair and a retracted position wherein the pictorial guide is not visible to the occupant of the chair. Also, the mounting device holds the card so that the orientation of the pictorial guide corresponds to the orientation of the controls for adjusting the chair when the card is in the extended position.

Abstract: A shop front display comprises a base member in the form of a thin sheet which can be applied to a member such as a shop shelf or an exhibition case by a first adhesion layer, a transparent cover disposed in overlapping relationship with the front surface of the base member, and a second adhesion layer formed on either one of the base member and the cover. The respective adhesion layers are formed to allow a repeated application or removal. The first adhesion layer permits the shop front display to be applied to a shop shelf or an exhibition case. When the cover is applied to the base member, an intermediate sheet can be maintained therebetween or characters inscribed on the base member can be protected. Instead of inscribing characters, display sheets may be applied to the base member and the cover may be dispensed with. In this manner, the shop front display is resistant to marring or damage and easily handled while suppressing the cost involved.

An upper finger is provided on the upper edge of the body panel and is biasingly engaged with the lower surface of the upper flange of the channel member.

The attachment formation includes a control zone, and the control zone includes an entrance into which an attachment member on the display object may be inserted. The control zone further includes at least one stop formation projecting traversely across the control zone such that a part of the display object attachment member may abut against the stop formation to inhibit withdrawal of the display object attachment member through the control zone entrance.

Abstract: A card carrying case includes a U-shaped housing and an insert for insertion therein. The housing has a bottom member and two side members wherein each member includes an edge portion and a flange extending inward along a front face of the case for retaining the cards within the housing. A support member extends across a rear face of the housing from one side member to the other for retaining the cards. A plurality of cylindrical protrusions mount on the support member for co-operating with a plurality of apertures in the insert and for retaining the insert within the housing. The insert includes a pair of leaf springs extending from the support member towards the bottom member for urging the cards to engage the flanges of the bottom and two sides. The insert also includes a pair of fingers extending from the support member towards a top end of the housing.

Abstract: A page frame display device is disclosed that includes biasing ribs which urge or bias opposing sides of an insertion slot towards each other to form a pinch point, thereby keeping in place display sheets that are inserted into the device. The ribs are external to the insertion slot, so they do not impede the insertion of display sheets into the device.

Abstract: A card holder for a mass transit entry card having one longitudinal edge portion encoded with machine readable information is formed by folding a plastic blank to provide overlying panel portions forming a pocket which clasps the opposite longitudinal edge portion of the card adjacent the fold so that the encoded edge extends clear of the holder, remote from the fold exposed for machine reading by longitudinal sliding movement along a slot of a card reading head in a swiping action. A hook extends in coplanar relation from a longitudinal end of one of the panel portions for securing the card holder carrying the card to a user's bag strap or pocket and has a returned free end extending inward, behind a land which extends from the panel portion, forming a stop, preventing overstress of the hook.

Abstract: A transparent plastic envelope made up of a front panel and a back panel secured together by parallel sealing lines around the periphery, and a line of mounting holes between the lines for receiving a mounting tie. The back panel is made up of two sections to form an opening for insertion of a sign element into the envelope. A plastic sealing zipper is secured to the meeting edges of the two sections.

Abstract: An electronic shelf label mounting system which protects an electronic shelf label from damage. The mounting system includes a rail having rounded top and bottom surfaces and a channel containing an electronic display module. In the preferred embodiment, the channel is wider than the electronic display module. A cover protects the electronic display module from damage from causes such as contact with shopping carts. A hinge member pivotally couples the cover to the rail. In a second embodiment, the cover is hingeless. The preferred embodiment further includes wireless electrical connections between the electronic display module and the rail, including power and signal connections, and ground connections at a location sufficient to minimize static discharge between the ground connections and the power and signal connections. The preferred embodiment also includes a downwardly biased flexible locking pawl for locking the electronic display module in the channel which engages a groove within the channel.

Abstract: An information holder for an information slip has a receiver part and a sliding compartment. The receiver part has a transparent front portion and a back portion, with an elongated recess extending from a top end of the receiver part to a bottom end of the receiver part, allowing the holder to be mounted to a pole or other device. The sliding compartment has an upwardly bent bottom portion to hold the information slip and configured to shield the slip from water. Drainage holes extend from the lower portion of the sliding compartment through the bottom end of the receiver part to allow water to drain from the holder. An eaves-like overhang on the sliding compartment is configured to protect the information slip from water entering through the top of the holder. Two slanted side portions allow water to run off the sides of the holder.

Abstract: A presentation unit which includes a frontwardly facing, substantially transparent side wall with multiple surfaces adapted for the display of information thereon, and two pull out display panels storable within the interior of the unit and extendible outwardly therefrom, which display panels are usable for displaying information. Additional display panels are provided within the interior of the presentation unit adjacent the transparent side wall and are viewable therethrough. These display panels are readily removable from the unit and thus information can be placed thereon prior to the presentation.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a card holder arrangement for holding a card that contains specific information and that has specific dimensions. The card holder comprises a rectangular or generally rectangular base plate, raised first side-edges extending along respective long sides of said base plate, raised second side-edges extending along respective short sides of the base plate, a projection on each of the raised first side-edges, said projections extending in over the base plate and towards each other from that edge surface of respective first side-edges which face away from the base plate. The raised second side-edges and the short sides of the base plate include recesses that enable a card placed in said card holder to be gripped on each short side of the card holder, these recesses dividing the raised second side-edges into two laterally related part-edges.

Abstract: A sticker display system for displaying a sticker in the rear window of a vehicle includes a display member and a pair of mounting brackets opposedly mounted in spaced relation adjacent the rear window of a vehicle. The display member is removably retained in the mounting brackets and a sticker is attached to the display member so as to be visible through the rear window of the vehicle.

A label holder of extruded plastic material snugly receives the enclosure of the electronic label which can be protected by a clear cover extending over the front of the label holder at least slightly spaced from the front of the label. A mounting strip is coextruded with the body of the label holder and is flexibly attached thereto by a co-extruded living hinge. Mounting brackets, of spring metal or the like, are received in pricing channels along the front of display shelving, or are otherwise mounted at the front of the shelving, and include a forwardly displaced, upwardly extending mounting tongue received in a downwardly opening slot in the flexibly attached mounting strip.

Abstract: An advertising attachment to be used with a scanning plate of a hanger bracket where the advertising attachment has at least a base plate on which advertisements or product information can be printed. The advertising attachment has an opening through which information displayed on the face of the scanning plate can be read or scanned. An additional plate may be used to provide a more suitable surface for printing or to reduce costs. The advertising attachment has a structure for mounting, for instance, mounting hooks, parallel gripping ridges, or an insertion slot in the back of the base plate. Such an advertising attachment provides a highly simplified way of displaying advertisements within a compact display space.

The device is of injection molded construction having spaced apart side walls joined by top and bottom walls. A pair of mounting clips extend rearwardly and then upwardly from the bottom wall in general alignment with the respective through openings. Resilient plastic tabs, extending forwardly from the mounting clips, allow the device to be mounted on a variety of label holder configurations, where the label holders have a downwardly projecting lower edge margin to be received in the mounting clip. Abutment clips project rearwardly from the sidewalls toward the mounting clips and define locking recesses adjacent the bottom of the sign holder. This enables the sign holder to be applied over the lower edge of a flanged ticket molding and to be lockingly retained thereon by engagement of the lower flange within the locking recess.

Abstract: The present invention provides an identification device, and a method of use therefor. The identification device comprises a label holder, at least one label, and a strap or adhesive bond to secure the label holder to a storage container. The label holder preferably has a box frame and a slot therein. A slot entrance aperture allows the insertion of the label or labels into the slot. A window in an exterior wall of the label holder provides visual access to at least a portion of the information on the label. Each of the labels has a tab extending outwardly from the slot entrance aperture as well as printed information on at least one side of the label concerning the age of, the nature of, and the approximate amount of the contents of the storage container. In its preferred mode, the identification device also includes an indicator. The indicator preferably is attached to the box frame by an oval shaft that fits into a hole with a plurality of detents.

A structure (20) is for temporarily retaining the housing (12) to an interior surface (22) of a windshield (24) in a motor vehicle (26). The large open front window (16) in the housing (12) faces the interior surface (22) of the windshield (24), so that the electronic toll pass (18) can operate therefrom.

Abstract: A retail checkout divider is provided as a transparent fixture having a hollow interior. The interior of the fixture has holders forming slots adapted to receive strips with indicia displayed thereon. The strips are held within the slots by either flexible cylinders or end caps. The present invention provides for a checkout divider where display strips can be easily and conveniently changed.

Abstract: An improved sign frame is provided which will allow for a sign to be quickly and easily inserted in the frame and to be easily removed from the frame. The sign frame has a first side, a second side, a third side and a fourth side. The second, third, and forth sides being formed from substantially identical elongate members which are connected together to form three sides of the frame, the elongate members are generally tubular and have a sign receiving channel to accept at least one sign and secure a stiffening member. The first side defines a sign receiving opening through which a sign is removably inserted The first side is made of a front member and a back member which are identical. The first side front and back members and the second, third and fourth side members are sized such that the two first side members are spaced apart from each other to define the sign receiving opening of the sign frame.

Abstract: A label holder for displaying information-containing non-adhesive labels on a C-channel at the front of a merchandise shelf in a supermarket or the like. The label holder may be a co-extrusion of an opaque body panel and a transparent cover resiliently connected along their lower edges to define a label-receiving pocket therebetween or it may simply have opposing U-shaped channels defined by upper and lower lips to receive and retain the label. A pair of upwardly and rearwardly extending leg members are integral with the body panel. One of the leg members underlies and extends behind the lower flange member of the C-channel and the other leg member overlies and extends in front of the lower flange member. The leg members terminate in gripping elements biased toward each other to grippingly engage therebetween the front and rear surfaces of the central portion of the C-channel.

Abstract: A display device for displaying selected portions of a plurality of sheet-like articles. The display device includes a base member mountable to a vertically-extending structure and retaining rails extending inwardly across the front surface of the base member from the elongate edges of the base member. The retaining rails define channels between the underside of the retaining rails and the front surface of the base member. The retaining rails are spaced from the front surface of the base member by a distance such that the retaining rails hold a plurality of articles in a selected display configuration independent of the orientation of the display device and such that the articles retained by the retaining rails are movable relative to the base member upon application of pressure to the portion of the articles exposed through the opening defined by the retaining rails to slide the articles along the channel.

The display unit also includes locking members for locking the frame in the second position.

Abstract: A print holder has two molded transparent plastic pieces united together each with an upright portion and a base having an inclined flank extending downwardly outwardly from a lower portion of the upright portion. A central portion of the upright portion of one or both pieces is recessed inwardly to define a pocket having an upper opening, for holding print material. The base portions together form a hollow base for capturing an inverted V-shaped printed information carrier that has wings extending adjacent the inclining flanks of the base. This allows display of information through the inclined flanks without requiring printing on the plastic.

Abstract: A confectionery product that also functions to transmit a greeting or a message to a person receiving the product. The product comprises a rectangular bar of chocolate candy having a top surface provided with a cavity. A wrapper enclosing the candy bar and extending into the cavity is in turn encircled by a tubular heat shrink member. The heat shrink member is in firm engagement with the wrapper that provides access to the cavity so that the greeting card can be personalized and then inserted in one end of the heat shrink member and pushed to a position in the cavity. The resulting product can then be displayed in a flower arrangement or used by itself.

Abstract: A sign holder (10) is disclosed which has a professional appearance but allows the sign insert (16) therein to be readily removed and replaced. An integrally molded spring assembly (34) including cantilevered springs (38, 40) is formed on the backplate (12). A frame (20) is mounted on the backplate (12). The sign insert (16) is placed on the inner surface (14) of the backplate (12) and a clear lens (18) is inserted so that a first edge (46) of the lens deflects the springs (38, 40). With sufficient deflection, the opposite edge (50) of the lens can clear the edge (52) of the frame to permit the lens to fit within the space (54) between the back plate and frame. The lens is released, permitting the springs to be released and push the lens so that the opposite edge (50) of the lens moves underneath the edge (52) of the frame to hold the sign insert and lens within the space between the backplate and frame.

Abstract: The opposed side walls and connecting end walls of this surface-mounted holder can be configured in virtually any desired shape to define a window conforming to a resiliently flexible sheet bearing a display. Inserted into the holder through an opening in one of the end walls, the display sheet is guided by a ramp into sliding engagement with a pair of slots formed in the side walls at a distance from the opening. A shoulder formed on the end wall adjacent said opening in alignment with the slots abuts the end of the display sheet and retains the display sheet in the holder. Adhesive strips are provided for securing the holder to a surface, such as the bumper of an automobile.

The card holder includes a base plate and a front plate secured in spaced apart relationship to define a card receiving slot to receive an inserted card and a mouth opening at the edge of the holder. The front plate includes a face hole of a size less than that of the card. The base plate includes a spring acting to urge an inserted card towards a card-contacting face of the front plate and situated so as not to interfere with a magnetic strip of an inserted card. The card-contacting face of the front plate has a channel of sufficient depth that embossed characters on an inserted card do not contact the surface of the front plate.

Abstract: A protective display for a card-type item with a backing card includes a base and a frame assembly. The base includes a field portion generally surrounding the frame assembly. The frame assembly includes a panel and a plurality of rails extending forwardly therefrom and generally forming the boundary of a view area for receiving the display item. The rails form notches for receiving the backing card edges whereby the display item is retained on the display.

Abstract: A reusable package and display construction for holding pre-recorded media is disclosed which comprises an integral one-piece plastic housing having a storage compartment for holding the pre-recorded media and integral with the package construction a display compartment for displaying indicia in a portion of the housing adjacent to the storage compartment wherein the display compartment provides an area in which the indicia may be viewed when the indicia is displayed within the display compartment and the pre-recorded media is held within the storage compartment.

Abstract: A unit for displaying merchandise in a picture frame look with advertising graphics as a background, the merchandise being encapsulated in a clear, thermoformed container housed by the frame, making the merchandise pilfer-proof and giving it a high gloss finish, the graphics background and the thermoformed container being easily changed by sliding them in and out of the frame, all while the display is mounted in the retail environment without requiring any additional tools, fixtures, or disassembly.
