Abstract: A light-triggered transponder includes one or more of photo cells, a clock recovery circuit and a reverse antenna system. The clock recovery circuit (CRC) includes a photoconductor with a source terminal, a drain terminal for receiving a voltage, the photoconductor resistance varying with received light intensity. The CRC is configured to generate a recovered clock. A reverse antenna system connected to at least one photo cell and configured to transmit data. The photoconductor configured to produce a modulated voltage signal from an incident modulated light incident. The CRC can include an amplifier coupled to the source terminal of the photoconductor via a capacitor for receiving the modulated voltage signal and outputting an analog signal generated from the voltage signal. The CRC can include an inverter coupled to the amplifier and configured to digitize the analog signal of the amplifier.

Abstract: A toilet seat includes a toilet seat frame having a first support surface and an edge defining an aperture extending through the toilet seat frame. The first support surface is configured to at least partially support a user on the toilet seat. The toilet seat also includes a flexible support member having an outer rim coupled to the edge of the toilet seat frame such that the flexible support member is suspended across the aperture of the toilet seat frame. The flexible support member includes a second support surface configured to at least partially support the user on the toilet seat.

Abstract: A method of obtaining data from a subsea control module of an underwater well facility is provided. The method comprises: providing a tag which stores data relating to the module, the tag being operable to wirelessly transmit the data to a reader device; locating the tag at the module; providing a reader device; and interrogating the tag using the reader device, such that the tag is caused to wirelessly transmit the data to the reader device, wherein the tag is communicatively connected to a subsea electronics module for receiving information therefrom.

Abstract: A beverage identification tile is provided that includes a sheet of material and a plurality of beverage type identifiers. The sheet of material has a first face and a second face which have a polygonal shape defined by a plurality of edges. A different beverage type identifier of the plurality of beverage type identifiers is printed along each edge of the plurality of edges of the first face and of the second face. A shelf labeling system includes a shelf, a plurality of slots, and the beverage identification tile. The shelf includes a front wall, a back wall, and a base mounted between the front wall and the back wall. The sheet of material is sized to slide into a slot of the plurality of slots formed in the front wall along an edge of the front wall with a beverage type identifier visible above the edge.

Abstract: Hang tags are provided for mounting on merchandise in a retail setting. The hang tags include a card with a plurality of edges, with a region of reinforcing material located at or adjacent to the top edge of the card, surrounding an aperture through which a fastener is received. The region defines the shape of a pair of intersecting elongated shapes such as ovals or ellipses, thereby positioning the reinforcing material in the locations where it is most needed to prevent theft-based removal of the tag from the merchandise, while omitting reinforcing material from the locations where it is not needed. Also provided is an attachment device, such as an applicator gun, for substantially simultaneously applying the reinforcing material to the tag and fastening the tag to a piece of merchandise.

Abstract: A cable tie with means to form a loop in order to mount cables against a panel or a marking badge. The cable tie has an integrated panel anchor having an elongated body in an area where the cable tie has an elongated cross-section and changes direction at least one time. The cable tie is intended to be mounted in a panel that has an opening with a shape that is a combination of a circular hole and a elongated opening. The mounting starts with a bending around the panel anchor which is then mounted into the openings elongated part. Then the cable tie is rotated typically 90° around the axis of the circular part of the opening. Then by releasing the bending, the band on each side of the panel anchor is fixed in the elongated part of the opening and the panel anchor is fixed towards the back-side of the panel.

Abstract: A roofing shingle comprising a base mat having a tab portion covered with granules and a headlap portion covered with a mask or film layer. An asphalt-based coating is applied to at least a top surface of the base mat. The film layer is adhered to the asphalt-based coating applied to the headlap portion and the granules are adhered to the asphalt-based coating applied to the tab portion. The film layer is adapted for preventing granules from adhering to the headlap portion of the base mat and, as such, the headlap portion may be substantially free from any granules adhered thereto. A method for manufacturing a roofing shingle is also provided wherein granules that are not adhered to the tab portion of one shingle may be collected and reapplied the tab portion of another shingle.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to cards that comprise indicators on the edge of the card stock to help identify the card. The indicators may be projections on the edge of the card stock formed by ridges, grooves, dimples, burrs, protrusions, or other like projections that provide at least a portion of the edge of the card stock with a textured surface. A user may identify the card by viewing the projections or touching the projections on the edge of the card stock, and identifying the type of projections, height of the projections, or the spacing of the projections on the edge of the card stock. The ability to identify the card stock simply through touch may be useful to visually impaired users for differentiating between types of cards that may otherwise be difficult to identify without projections.

The layer of colored fluid has a thickness and a color. The transparent actuator element modulates the thickness of the colored fluid upon activated by a force such that the colored fluid is changed from a first state to a second state or vice versa. The modulated thickness provides a variable optical density of the colored fluid.

Abstract: The current disclosure describes and teaches a key organizing system which may include one or more key holder assemblies attached to a key organizer. Each key holder assembly forms a tree structure through the fastening mechanisms and the attachment assemblies of key holders. The tree structure is dynamically configured to reflect the relationship of the keys to a property. Keys are attached to the tree structure which facilitates the organization of the keys. The key organizer may include one or more swing sheets. Each swing sheet may include one or more swing hangers. The current invention helps owners or managers of one or multiple residential or commercial properties to better organize keys to their properties by mapping the relationship of the keys to a tree structure and storing the keys accordingly.

Abstract: Described in some aspects of the present invention are methods and systems that can be used to track occurrences and/or non-occurrences of medical-related events, for example, to record whether one or more medical-related events have occurred at a particular time or during a particular time interval. Any suitable number of events may be tracked using such methods and systems, and the types and varieties of events that can be tracked are diverse. Examples include but are not limited to vaccine or other drug administrations, physical therapies, tests, diagnoses and surgeries. In some preferred embodiments, these and/or other medical-related occurrences or events will be tracked using an article that can be worn about the body of a patient although a variety of non-wearable articles can be utilized as well.

Abstract: An improved D-ring apparatus is provided that comprises a first arm and a second arm, a first arcuate member and a second arcuate member, and a connecting member. The first arm and second arm are substantially parallel to each other. The first arcuate member and the second arcuate member are attached to the first and second arms so that the first and second members are located at opposite ends of the first and second arms and form a continuous apparatus. A connecting member is attached to the first and second arm approximately mid-way between the first and second arcuate members, thereby forming a first aperture and a second aperture.

Abstract: A utility panel for a dispenser that is mounted to a support structure by a backplate includes opposed lateral legs that extend from a main section to form a receiving channel therebetween. The main section is configured to display any desired physical indicia, such as advertising messages, for viewing by the user of the dispenser, while the lateral sections include retention tabs that are received within guide channels formed between the backplate and the support structure. As the utility panel is attached to the dispenser, the blackplate is received within the receiving channel of the utility panel until the retention tabs are snap-fit into corresponding lock channels provided by the backplate of the dispenser. As such, the utility panel is easily retrofit to a previously-installed dispenser without the use of tools.

Abstract: A method and system of printing a pharmaceutical label is disclosed. The method and system includes a mechanism for receiving patient prescription information, with is entered into a prescription entry system. The vial size may be calculated based on the patient prescription information. Spacing for printing dosing indicia on a pharmaceutical label is calculated and printed on the pharmaceutical label. The pharmaceutical label may then be applied to a vial, which may include an indexing mechanism to aid tracking of doses.

Abstract: A tire tag for identifying mounting locations of a tire. The tire tag includes a base plate and at least one attachment portion extending outwardly from the base plate. The base plate has an upper surface, and markings showing a mounting location of the tire are provided on the upper surface of the base plate. The attachment portion is configured for removable attachment to an air valve of the tire.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an information encoding, marking, tracking, and transmission system for information related to nutritional substances, including nutritional content. Upon the creation of a nutritional substance, whether grown, raised, caught, collected or synthesized, information regarding the nutritional substance is accumulated, encoded and referenced to the particular nutritional substance. This information can be marked directly on the nutritional substance, but can instead be stored elsewhere, and referenced to the nutritional substance by means of a marking, unique identifier, a unique inherent property, unique genetic attribute, or an induced genetic attribute. A consumer of the nutritional substance can use this reference to retrieve the information regarding the creation of the particular nutritional substance.

Abstract: A drug administration safety device having a label configured to be attached to a drug container such as a syringe or IV bag, an adhesive on the back face of the label, and a backing or substrate for holding the label and protecting the adhesive prior to the application of the label to the drug container. In one embodiment, the label includes a first drug name section in a first orientation, a second drug name section in a second orientation, a third drug name section in a third orientation, a drug concentration section, a variable information section, and a gradiation viewing section. The first orientation, second orientation, and third orientation are different from each other to enable a user to readily see the drug name regardless of the position and orientation of the drug container.
