Band-type Fastener Patents (Class 40/665)
  • Patent number: 11776434
Abstract: A method and apparatus for avoidance of damage to concealed mechanical elements during construction or repair of a structure. In one embodiment, a tag is provided for installation on a plumbing or similar element prior to such element being concealed by further construction. The tag is adapted to engage a concealed element in such a way that an indicator portion of the tab remains visible after further concealing structure is installed. The visible tab's location identifies the location of concealed elements and is preferably provided with indicia identifying such purpose. In a further embodiment of the invention, adhesive indicator tape is used in conjunction with an indicator tab. The indicator tape is adapted to be applied over concealing structure to generally identify the location and extent of concealed elements that may be susceptible to puncture or damage during subsequent construction or repair phases of a project.

Abstract: A recipient verification system including a band having a pocket coupled to a strap. The pocket includes a first layer opposite a second layer. Seals are formed between the second layer and opposing side edges of the first layer to form an interior region. An end seal is formed adjacent a trailing end of the first layer and a liner covered adhesive coating is provided along an inner face of one of the layers. In an open arrangement, the liner is disposed over the adhesive coating, and a leading end of the first layer is free of the second layer to define an opening to the interior. In a closed arrangement, the liner is removed. The system can further include a separated insert. In an assembly state, the insert is insertable into the interior pocket, and a positive identification state, the insert is permanently affixed to the pocket.

  • Patent number: 8438766
Abstract: Disclosed is a unitary sheet-like merchandise labeling article that has a labeling tag flatly conjoined along a unifying flat bond zone with a flexible elastic layer that extends away from the tag and includes an elastic fastening loop. The loop sides that define the loop are wider than the thickness of the elastic layer. Further, the flexible elastic layer that extends away from the tag has a thickness greater than the thickness of the tag and has a dispersion zone adjacent the unifying flat bond zone. The dispersion zone allows dissipation of elastic loop in-line stretching forces sufficiently to reduce transmission of such forces into the bond zone.
