A one-way gate is disposed within the channel permitting a toothpaste pellet to pass into the head portion, and to prevent the toothpaste pellet from passing out of the head portion. A handle cap is removably attached to a lower end of the handle portion. The head portion and shank portion may be received within a head cap that removably attaches to the handle portion.
