The body has on the one hand an internal jacket defining both longitudinal ends of the body and made from a resiliently deformable material compatible with the pasty product as well as an external case partially surrounding the jacket and assembled to the latter. The packing is intended for the conditioning of sanitary or cosmetic products such as deodorants or lipsticks.

The bottom has a centralized aperture adapted to receive a spindle having a screw shaft disposed within the body and a dial or handwheel disposed outside the body. The periphery of the elevator is sealed along the internal surface of the body of the package. Further sealing is provided between the hub/threaded shaft interface when the elevator is in its lowermost position. The elevator has a reservoir to receive molten product during the fill process.

The quantity of product being applied can also be accurately controlled using the package.

At least that part of the conveyor within the extension is a flexible resilient coil in contact with, or close to, the interior of the body adjacent the bristles. In the preferred embodiment, the dispenser is a toothbrush with bristles formed on the narrower end of the body and the outlet communicating with the bristles. There are various ways in which one handed operation of the dispenser can be achieved.

    Abstract: A fountain tooth brush having a hollow handle for holding toothpaste and a screw shaft with a piston movable when the screw shaft is rotated for forcing the toothpaste from the hollow handle through a passage and into the removable brush head for applying toothpaste to the bristles. The rear end of the hollow handle is closed by a snap-on cap and the interior of the cap has a non-circular recess for receiving the adjacent non-circular end of the screw shaft so that a rotation of the cap will rotate the screw shaft. The brush head has a threaded neck removably receivable in the interiorly threaded bore of the hollow handle at a concave handle surface and the neck has diametrically opposed projections against which the forward end of the screw shaft contacts to prevent any forward movement of the shaft when disengaged from the cap.

    Abstract: A toothbrush has a shank portion with the brush head carried at one end thereof and a handle at the other end. The shank has a passageway which communicates a paste-holding cavity in the handle to a plurality of bristles mounted on the head end of the toothbrush. The paste-holding cavity of the handle mounts a piston which is axially movable within the paste-holding cavity of the handle in response to a rotatable threaded member so as to compress the paste within the cavity and force the same through the passageway for communication with the bristles. The head has a valve means movable between a first position closing off communication between the passageway and the bristles and a second position permitting such communication.

    Abstract: The invention disclosed relates to a toothbrush which comprises in combination, bristles, guide tube means and a source container from which a viscous substance is forced through apertures disposed near the bristles to the surface thereof. The flow of the viscous substance to the bristles is manually controlled by means of a knob disposed on the outside surface of a main shaft. An extension end of the container is provided to contain the toothbrush bristles and may be configurated as a toothbrush head. An opposite end of the toothbrush head includes a knob which is disposed for advancing a follower member which serves to force the viscous substance to the opening of the aperture which permits the viscous substance to surface to the bristles. At the forward end of the main shaft which contains the follower member, there is disposed a plug which permits closure of the open aperture thereby avoiding danger of leakage of the viscous substance during non-usage periods.

    Abstract: A tooth-brush carries its own supply of tooth paste in a removable cartridge inserted into the tooth-brush handle. The tooth paste is discharged through a passage from the cartridge to a flexible nipple located between the tooth-brush bristles. A piston is located in the cartridge to push the tooth paste towards the bristles. The piston has a groove engaging a longitudinal rib of the cartridge to prevent rotation of the piston. A screw is threaded through the piston and has a head urged forwardly by a spring abutting against a cap rigid with the tooth-brush handle. Upon screwing of the screw by a knob at the end of the tooth-brush body, the screw is caused to move rearwardly to a limit position to thereby compress the spring. The cocked spring produces slow and uniform discharge of a measured amount of tooth paste over the bristles by moving the screw and, therefore, the piston forwardly.
