Abstract: A dispensing packing for stick-shaped pasty products which is made from synthetic material and includes a hollow body inside of which the pasty stick is guided in the longitudinal direction, a device for displacing the stick formed of a sliding piston to which the stick is connected and of a screw for displacing the piston, a drive cap for rotating the screw mounted at one end of the body opposite to the closure cap of this body. The body has on the one hand an internal jacket defining both longitudinal ends of the body and made from a resiliently deformable material compatible with the pasty product as well as an external case partially surrounding the jacket and assembled to the latter. The packing is intended for the conditioning of sanitary or cosmetic products such as deodorants or lipsticks.

Abstract: A swivel up package for a deodorant or antiperspirant having specialized sealing which prevents leakage of product, in either its molten or volatile state, during manufacture, shipment and storage by containing all of the product within or above the elevator. The preferred package has a body of an oval or circular cross-section with an open top and a closed bottom. The bottom has a centralized aperture adapted to receive a spindle having a screw shaft disposed within the body and a dial or handwheel disposed outside the body. Also disposed within the body of the package is the elevator having a threaded central hub that is in engagement with the screw shaft. The periphery of the elevator is sealed along the internal surface of the body of the package. Further sealing is provided between the hub/threaded shaft interface when the elevator is in its lowermost position. The elevator has a reservoir to receive molten product during the fill process.

Abstract: An improved toothbrush with a teeth cleansing substance dispensing system is provided, which consists of a mechanism in cooperation with a compartment in an enlarged handle, which will dispense some teeth cleansing substance through a channel in a neck and head and out through at least one lateral passageway into bristle groups, so that the bristle groups can clean teeth. An apparatus is also in cooperation with the channel in the head and neck for sealing the at least one lateral passageway, when not in use. This stops the flow of the teeth cleansing substance and prevents germs, bacteria, water and other foreign elements from contaminating the teeth cleansing substance left in the channel and the compartment.

Abstract: An applicator device for high or low viscosity liquids essentially comprises a container (R) having a plunger (2) which can be operated by turning a rod (3), whereby the liquid in the container is squeezed out into an applicator brush (4). Said rod (3) is hollow and carries the brush (4) at one of its ends (3b) while the other end (3a) is immersed in the container (R). Between these ends, it passes through the plunger (2) and is in engagement therewith via a screw thread (3c). Said rod (3) is rotated by a ratchet wheel (10) controlled by a side push-button (6). The applicator device allows a viscous product such as nail varnish to be delivered, for example to a brush.

Abstract: A package for a stick product, such as an antiperspirant stick, comprises a barrel for containing the stick, the barrel having an opening through which the stick can be exposed for use, and a product support member for supporting the end of the stick product opposite the end of the stick which is to be exposed. The support member is movable for adjusting the amount of the stick product which is exposed for use through the barrel opening. An applicator surface is provided about the periphery of the opening of the barrel for application and rubbing in of a visible amount of product. The package, including the applicator surface, allows the consumer to rub the product in while avoiding contacting the underarm with the relatively narrow edge of the barrel. The quantity of product being applied can also be accurately controlled using the package.

Abstract: A dispenser having a hollow body to receive a flowable material. The body is generally conical and has a wider end and a narrower end. There is an outlet at the narrower end. A spiral conveyor within the hollow body is able to rotate relative to the body. Rotation of the spiral conveys material received in the body through the outlet. The spiral conveyor is generally conical and extends into a point adjacent the passageway. At least that part of the conveyor within the extension is a flexible resilient coil in contact with, or close to, the interior of the body adjacent the bristles. In the preferred embodiment, the dispenser is a toothbrush with bristles formed on the narrower end of the body and the outlet communicating with the bristles. There are various ways in which one handed operation of the dispenser can be achieved.

Abstract: The display and applicator container for waxy products comprise a body of substantially oval shape in cross-section and having a bearing surface, and a cap having to be tightly closed and containing a sealing gasket in correspondence with the bearing surface of the body. The sealing gasket is made by a cover fitted inside the cap by centering and latching members. The cover defines an annular housing fitting over a lip of the body, and formed from an inner rib defined by a tapered inner wall of the cover. The body contains an apertured piston and has a bottom defining an open sheath for introduction in liquid form of a waxy material through the apertured piston so as to be moulded as a cake. The open sheath is closed by a driving member for the piston.

Abstract: A dispenser for materials in solidified stick form has an opening in the base of the dispenser through which said material in a heated liquid form can be introduced when the dispenser is in an inverted position for casting of the stick material directly within the dispenser, the opening being closed by a manually-operable knob after casting of the stick material, the knob being operative to actuate a threaded mechanism within the dispenser for extending the cast stick material through an opposite open end of the dispenser.

Abstract: A toothbrush and toothpaste dispenser unit comprising a brush head with a longitudinally extending toothpaste receiving and dispensing opening provided therein, and a disposable toothpaste receiver and dispenser cartridge which engages the brush head and connects to the opening in the brush head. A dispensing piston, and a drive screw are present with the cartridge while a drive member for the screw is present and it includes a one way rotary drive means. The cartridge has an outer sleeve which forms a handle for the dispenser unit. The unit has a single wall thickness, i.e. the outer sleeve of the cartridge, in the cartridge portion of the unit.

Abstract: An improved fountain toothbrush is provided that includes a toothpaste storage compartment in the handle and a rotary mechanism for enabling toothpaste in the toothpaste storage compartment to be urged through a conduit in a head directly to the bristles which is adapted to be disposable.

Abstract: A dispenser comprises a hollow base member, and a hollow nose member, the inner wall of which is non-circular in cross-sectional shape. The nose member and base member snap fit together. A base insert fits into the base member. The base insert is sized to be retained in the base member between a shoulder on the inner wall of the base member and the lower end of the nose member when the nose member and base member are secured together. The base insert is internally screw threaded. An elevator having a screw threaded stem adapted to screw together with the base insert has an axially movable platform which is operated by rotation of the base member relative to the nose member to dispense a stick product contained in the nose member.

The edge of the dispensing opening (4) are at least partly covered with a layer of an air-permeable material that serves to apply the product (P), the layer (8) being positioned over the edge.

Abstract: A tooth brushing assembly for dispensing both toothpaste and dental floss. The assembly includes a toothpaste reservoir which has a cylindrical knob at the rear thereof. A spool of dental floss is held within the chamber, and the knob has a cap and cutoff blade associated with it. Preferably, a tooth brush is affixed over the cap end of the reservoir, and a preferred method of dispensing the toothpaste with a piston is also disclosed.

Abstract: A container for dispensing a cosmetic product such as a deodorant in stick form comprises a one piece tubular body open at the top having a platform disposed therein movably by means of a dial shaft threaded into the platform. A single opening is formed in the bottom wall of the body through which the dial shaft extends and a washer forms the entire seal between the dial and the bottom wall of the body, while sealing means in the form of a contoured cap member which is disposed wholly within the body and a separate seal, or alternately a contoured flexible sealing element closes the top of the body. The container is filled through the top opening with a quantity of molten product while in the upright condition, the molten product passing through a plurality of openings in the platform to rest on the bottom surface of the container. The container is then closed by the sealing means and inverted with the product in the molten state and remains so during solidification of the product.

Abstract: A dispenser employs a container adapted for bottom-filling with a molten material which solidifies on an elevator cup to form a stick-type product. The elevator cup is moved up and down within the container by a lifting mechanism which extends through an opening in an otherwise closed end of the container. The elevator cup is provided with a sealing assembly designed to seal the opening in the closed end of the container when the elevator cup is in a retracted position, which it assumes during the filling operation and in which it preferably remains until the initial use of the dispenser.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a dispenser of the propel/repel type, typically used for solid stick deodorants. The dispenser includes a container, a piston mounted on a threaded rod, and an actuating wheel to rotate the rod and either advance the piston toward a product outlet or retracted it away from the outlet. Filling with molten deodorant material can be effected either through the top (i.e., the product outlet) or the bottom of the dispenser. When top-filling, the container is filled through the product outlet, while the piston is fully retracted. Alternatively, the container can be bottom-filled with a cover over the product outlet simply by advancing the piston slightly toward the product outlet, injecting molten deodorant material through openings in the piston and container, and fully retracting the piston to close the filling openings. Once filled by either technique, the dispenser contents are allowed to cool and solidify.

Abstract: A powder dispenser for supplying a predetermined amount of powder for, for example, cosmetic applicators, by a simple finger-tip operation. The dispenser has a tubular casing which has a nib at one end and an actuator at the other end thereof, a powder chamber containing therein a predetermined powder, a spiral member extending within the powder chamber, and a rotary device having an actuator for providing relative rotation between the spiral member and the powder chamber. A tube may be provided within the tubular casing to form the powder chamber.

Abstract: A cartridge for injecting a mixture of two liquid constituents comprising a reservoir (1) which has a compartment (2) for one of the constituents and a compartment (3) for the other constituent. The reservoir (1) comprises two concentric cylindrical compartments (2, 3), respectively containing a first and a second constituent. A piston (6, 7) is mounted in sliding manner in each of the two compartments (2, 3), and provision is made for sliding the two pistons (6, 7) simultaneously. Each of the compartments (2, 3) opens into a common mixing chamber (4) which comprises partitions (8, 9) defining a sinuous path of the mixture of the two constituents between the two compartments (2, 3) and the outlet opening (5) of the mixing chamber (4). Use, in particular, for injecting a semi-pasty sealing material into a hollow body.

Abstract: An applicator for dispensing metered amounts of medicaments in stick formulations is comprised of a hollow tube and a piston mounted to slidingly move within the tube. A finger operable base is rotatably mounted at one end of the tube and is mechanically linked by a screw member to the piston to urge the piston towards the other end of the tube. A depressible thumb piece is associated with the rotatable base. An extension or post is associated with the thumb piece to extend inward of the tube and to register with a race formed inside the tube. The race has a series of detents with which the extension may register upon rotation of the base. Registration between the extension and the detents signals certain increments of rotation or prevents further rotation of the base. The thumb piece is depressed inward to bring the extension out of registration with the detents.

Abstract: Toothbrush with toothpaste container consisting of a body, having the function of case and support of the toothbrush, and of a toothpaste container; a housing for the toothbrush in the case allows delivery of the toothpaste onto the bristles, when the toothbrush is closed. By pushing a button housed on the cover of the container, metering of the toothpaste is performed, and the quantity dispensed is controlled by the pressure inside the dispenser.

Abstract: A dispenser for semi-solid material such as deodorant comprises a tubular barrel, a radial flange of which holds captive a knurled drive wheel for rotation abotu the axis of the barrel. An elevator is mounted on a spindle connected to the drive wheel and is adapted to move deodorant up and down the barrel on rotation of the wheel. To facilitate bottom-filling of the dispenser the elevator is formed from a radially inner part and a radially outer part. The radially outer part is positioned in the barrel before filling, and the radially inner part, preassembled on the spindle, is then clipped into the radially outer part while the deodorant is still in liquid form.

Abstract: The present invention provides a combined toothbrush and toothpaste dispenser comprising a body casing, also serving as a handle, and a toothbrush member disposed at the proximal end of the body casing and having an arm slidably mounted in the body casing and a brush head. The arm is slidable between a retracted position, in which the brush head is disposed adjacent the body casing, and an extended position. A toothpaste dispenser is housed with the body casing and has a discharge nozzle at the proximal end of the body casing for delivering toothpaste onto the brush when the arm is in its retracted position.

Abstract: A container for storing, dispensing and applying solid and semi-solid materials, and being fillable, optionally, from the top or from the bottom. The container assembly is characterized by improved seals between a product supporting and elevating platform and the circumscribing body of the container and by simple yet highly effective bottom closure interlocks, seals, and vents rendering feasible the filling of the container conveniently from the bottom as well as from the top.

Abstract: A brush arrangement, specifically a toothbrush, is provided with a reservoir of cleaning material in its handle. The handle is hollow and provided with an actuatable plunger arrangement which pressurizes the cleaning material so as to force it through a channel and to the brush head. The pressurized cleaning material opens a pressure valve arrangement which exposes a dispensing port through which the cleaning material is dispensed in the vicinity of a plurality of bristles. The dispensing port is opened by the application of a force from the pressurized cleaning material which exceeds a counterforce applied by a resilient device, such as a spring. When the pressure in the reservoir is relieved, such as by reversing the direction of travel of the plunger, the counterforce applied by the spring is sufficient to ensure that the pressure valve closes the dispensing port. In certain embodiments, the brush arrangement is provided with a replaceable brush head.

Abstract: A toothbrush with a paste-carrying hollow handle and a hand-manipulated dispensing apparatus including a threaded open end of the handle for connection with a container of toothpaste during loading, and connection with the bristle portion during operation. A threaded follower having an at least partially open skeletal structure adapted to permit axial flow of molten solid-stick product therethrough during filling operations is slidably and non-rotatably disposed within the container body for axial movement therewithin.

Abstract: A dispensing container for a product having a tubular container body with a dispensing end, and an operating end, a plug in the container near the operating end, and movable towards the dispensing end, a disc forming part of the plug in sealing engagement with the inside of the container body, and a locating sleeve within the operating end of the container formed integrally therewith.

Abstract: A deodorant case of the propel-repel type has a propel-repel assembly, which is received in one end of the casing body. The assembly includes a carrier, a base, and a threaded rod assembly which may be pre-assembled as a unit and inserted in the casing prior to filling. The casing is filled from the bottom through aligned openings in the base and carrier, and through an opening in a knurled disc of the threaded rod assembly which may be aligned for filling. After filling, a plug is snapped on over the opening in the knurled disc. In an alternative embodiment, the propel-repel assembly has no filling holes, but is pre-assembled as a unit and snapped into the casing after filling. In both embodiments, vent holes may be formed in the carrier, base, and disc. The invention may also be applied to containers which have manually propelled carriers.

Abstract: The invention contemplates sealed lead-screw propulsion mechanism for the piston of a container for stick deodorant or the like substance, wherein the container must be filled by hot melted substance which becomes the stick after it has been allowed to cool. The seal is operative when the piston is in its lower-most position within the container, so that liquid (melted) substance cannot seep through the region of lead-screw engagement to the piston. Once the substance has solidified, there is no further need for the seal, beyond retention of aromatic ingredients, i.e., until the product has reached the ultimate consumer; and the seal is operable only upon first dispensing use of the container.

The rear end of the hollow handle is closed by a snap-on cap and the interior of the cap has a non-circular recess for receiving the adjacent non-circular end of the screw shaft so that a rotation of the cap will rotate the screw shaft. The brush head has a threaded neck removably receivable in the interiorly threaded bore of the hollow handle at a concave handle surface and the neck has diametrically opposed projections against which the forward end of the screw shaft contacts to prevent any forward movement of the shaft when disengaged from the cap.

The handle portion defines a cavity for such storage, and includes a screw and piston therein for forcing the material from the cavity through a channel and into the brush or massage head. The flow of the viscous substance to the bristles is manually controlled by means of a knob disposed on the outside surface of a main shaft. An extension end of the container is provided to contain the toothbrush bristles and may be configurated as a toothbrush head. An opposite end of the toothbrush head includes a knob which is disposed for advancing a follower member which serves to force the viscous substance to the opening of the aperture which permits the viscous substance to surface to the bristles. At the forward end of the main shaft which contains the follower member, there is disposed a plug which permits closure of the open aperture thereby avoiding danger of leakage of the viscous substance during non-usage periods.

Abstract: A tooth-brush carries its own supply of tooth paste in a removable cartridge inserted into the tooth-brush handle. The tooth paste is discharged through a passage from the cartridge to a flexible nipple located between the tooth-brush bristles. A piston is located in the cartridge to push the tooth paste towards the bristles. The piston has a groove engaging a longitudinal rib of the cartridge to prevent rotation of the piston. A screw is threaded through the piston and has a head urged forwardly by a spring abutting against a cap rigid with the tooth-brush handle. Upon screwing of the screw by a knob at the end of the tooth-brush body, the screw is caused to move rearwardly to a limit position to thereby compress the spring. The cocked spring produces slow and uniform discharge of a measured amount of tooth paste over the bristles by moving the screw and, therefore, the piston forwardly.
