Patent number: 6764100Abstract: A stationery organizer is provided having parallel, C-shaped members that are threaded through the aligned apertures of numerous stationery products. The C-shaped members have adjacent first ends joined by a connecting member, and have second ends that are curved upwardly, rearwardly and inwardly, then joined to define a hook. The C-shaped members are joined by a curvilinear spring member that has a first end spaced apart from the connecting member such that an aperture is formed. The hook is insertable through the aperture only by compressing the curvilinear spring member. Once inserted the hook catches the connecting member as the compression of the curvilinear spring member is lowered, although sufficient compression load remains in the curvilinear spring member to cause the hook to bear upon the connecting member to secure the closure. Only a subsequent compression of the curvilinear spring member will disengage the hook from the connecting member for release.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2003Date of Patent: July 20, 2004Inventor: Ruth Julia Miro

Patent number: 6565278Abstract: Leaf retaining means for loosely retaining a multiplicity of leaves of material, such as sheets of paper. The leaf retaining means comprise a base portion, which is provided with at least one formation to enable it to be secured to a folder cover, and loop means, the latter has at least two points on its surface which two points are closest to an imaginary plane which does not pass through that position and which is perpendicular to the loop means, and which two points are spaced apart. The loop means are such as to enable a leaf of material, such as a sheet of paper, with a generally T-shaped aperture in it that is open at an edge of the leaf, to be releasably held by the loop means by pushing the aperture onto the loop means.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2001Date of Patent: May 20, 2003Assignee: Folders Galore LimitedInventors: Leslie Paine, Hugh Webb

Publication number: 20030077108Abstract: A folder for holding loose leaf pages including a cover member and two elongated, semi-rigid, elastic leaf-engaging tongues coupled to the cover member, wherein the length of the tongues is at least three quarters the width of a loose-leaf page, and further including at least one substantially rigid hanging element reciprocatably coupled to the cover member, each hanging element including a tongue-receiving aperture, wherein the tongue-receiving aperture in at least one of the hanging elements merges into an elongate slit, in which a threaded tongue can be lockingly engaged.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 18, 2002Publication date: April 24, 2003Inventor: Shlomo Menahem

Publication number: 20030053848Abstract: A loop-type binder comprises tongues (4) attached on its back cover for holding document sheets, and these tongues (4) constantly increase in thickness from their base (6) to their tip (9), thus comprising a deflection resistant tip and an elastic staff at their base. The radius of the joining area (15) from the tongue to the base is by several times smaller on the side facing the back cover than the radius of the joining area (14) on the side that faces the front cover. The stopper (13) that retains the tongue when the binder is open is integrated into the tongue by a slope (12). This tongue design facilitates convenient and gentle handling and storage of documents (FIG. 2).Type: ApplicationFiled: August 15, 2002Publication date: March 20, 2003Inventor: Wolfgang Dengler

Publication number: 20030035681Abstract: A document holder includes a case body having an elongate base part, and first and second casing parts. The elongate base part has opposite longitudinal edges, a bottom surface, and a top surface. The top surface is mounted with a ring binder unit that is adapted for binding removably loose-leaf document holding sheets. Each of the first and second casing parts has an outer casing surface, a recessed inner casing surface opposite to the outer casing surface, and a hinge edge connected pivotally to a respective one of the longitudinal edges of the base part such that the first and second casing parts are movable between folded and unfolded positions relative to the base part.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 20, 2001Publication date: February 20, 2003Inventor: Chin-Lien Ho

Patent number: 6510985Abstract: An automatic teller machine has not only a main store comprising a number of cassettes (38, 40, 42, 44, 46 and 48) holding stacks of banknotes but also faster operating auxiliary stores (4 and 5) which hold limited numbers of the most popular denominations of banknote. A request for cash is met, if possible, from the auxiliary stores (4 and 5). This enables the machine to provide a service at a faster rate than the rate of dispensing from of the main store. The auxiliary stores are replenished from the main store, preferably at times during which the machine is not in the process of dispensing notes to a customer.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1997Date of Patent: January 28, 2003Assignee: NCR CorporationInventors: Barrie Clark, Robert D. Patent number: 6499766Abstract: A media folder or book binder provided with a rotor having elastic bands stretched between pins on its opposite ends has mounting brackets which are mechanically fastened to the spine of the folder. The brackets have trunnions facing inwardly toward the opposite ends of the rotor to journal the rotor. An important aspect of the invention is that each bracket is provided with a shroud which inhibits or prevents bands from disengaging with their supporting pins as a folded sheet is removed from or installed on the rotor under a strand of the band. In effect, winding-up of the bands during relative lateral movement of a sheet still occurs, but the adverse twisting affect of enabling the bands to slip off pins is prevented. The folder has straps fixed thereto and preferably formed integrally therewith at opposite ends of the folder's spine. These straps interact with latches on the mounting brackets to firmly hold the brackets in place mechanically.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2000Date of Patent: December 31, 2002Inventor: Karl S. Schroeder

Publication number: 20020141809Abstract: A binder 10 has a base 14 having passages 14A, 14A through which binding legs 13, 13 can be inserted. The base 14 has a plurality of base-forming members 17, 17 that can move relative to each other along the longitudinal direction. Each of the base-forming members 17, 17 has first and second operating portions 22, 23 that move when the base-forming members 17, 17 are moved relative to each other. The second operating portions 23, 23 move away from each other and press the binding legs 13, 13 onto their binding positions when the first operating portions 22, 22 are moved toward each other. The binding legs 13, 13 are released and the first operating portions 22, 22 move away from each other when the second operating portions 23, 23 are moved toward each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2002Publication date: October 3, 2002Applicant: KOKUYO CO., LTD.Inventors: Takayoshi Higashino, Kizuku Kitada
