  • Patent number: 4942911
Abstract: A hopper assembly has an upwardly facing mouth for receiving granular or powder materials, and structured and arranged for preventing or reducing the escape of material from the hopper. The assembly includes at least one resiliently flexible baffle extending obliquely downwards from a substantially fixed, generally horizontally extending top edge portion to a free edge portion. Another member may be provided having an edge portion in the vicinity of and extending substantially parallel to the free edge portion of the baffle. The baffle is arranged with respect to the other member such that if material to be received by the hopper assembly falls onto the baffle, the weight of the material tends to cause the baffle to deflect away from the other member, permitting the material to fall between the baffle and the other member. Being resilient, the baffle returns or tends to return to its original position.

Abstract: Locking structure for securing a four-bar linkage or the like on an implement in a raised position to remove an earthworking tool or row unit from ground engagement. An overcenter spring arrangement selectively biases a strap pivotally connected to one arm of the linkage toward or away from a member located on the opposite arm. When the strap is biased toward the member, raising the tool or row unit causes the strap to engage the member to prevent rocking of the linkage and thereby secure the device out of ground contact. Reversing the spring arrangement and raising the device causes the strap to move out of locking engagement with the member for normal operation. • Patent number: 4636103
Abstract: The invention relates to a locking mechanism for use with two members which are mutually rotatable about a common pivot. The two members are a platform body (4) and a leg (1) therefor which is adjustable so as to vary the height of the platform body. The locking mechanism comprises a flat surface (6) on one of the members tangential to an opposing convex cylindrical surface on the other member, the cylindrical surface being coaxial with the pivot (2). The two surfaces define therebetween a substantially V-shaped gap which accommodates a cylindrical roller (7) in tangential frictional contact with the opposing surfaces. The roller is biased by releasable biasing means (9) towards the apex of the V-shaped gap, thereby to prevent rotation of the members in a direction which tends to urge the roller towards the apex, except on release of the biasing means, and freely to permit rotation in the opposite direction.
