  • Patent number: 10704598
Abstract: A hydrostatic linear guideway includes a rail, a slider coupled to the rail, and two load blocks disposed between the rail and the slider. A load portion of each load block is spaced from the groove wall of an outer groove of the rail and has an oil chamber facing toward the groove wall of one respective outer groove of the rail, such that an oil film is formed between the rail and each load block. A bearing portion of each load block is abutted against the groove wall of an inner groove of the slider so that the two load blocks are moved synchronously with the slider. Thus, the hydrostatic linear guideway of the present invention has the oil chamber defined in each load block and does not require additional processing of the slider, achieving the purpose of reducing the difficulty of the manufacturing process.

Abstract: The invention relates to decorative finishing, in particular to article finishing methods, and, more specifically, to producing shaped surfaces and pictures. The inventive method consists in orienting the rotation axis of cutting tools at angles to a blank ranging from 0° to 360° in horizontal and vertical planes, in displacing the cutting tools along three mutually perpendicular planes, one of which is positioned in parallel with the blank supply direction, wherein the blank is fed according to a predetermined program in such a way that it can be displaced in forward and inverse directions and the blank feeding speed is modifiable up to zero, the processing by the moving cutting tool is carried out within the limits of the operation area which is defined by the displacement of the moving cutting tool in longitudinal and transverse directions and by the possibility of modifying the rotational frequency of cutting tools which are spatially fixable according to the blank feeding speed.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a thin wall isogrid or the like casing by a machining process includes the steps of mating a casing with a support, the said support having a substantially continuous support surface engaging at least part of the inner or outer surface of the casing and machining a plurality of recessed pockets in the inner or outer surface of the casing opposite the surface engaged by the said support. The support reacts loads acting on the casing by a machining tool during machining, thereby minimizing distortion of the casing and tearing of the pockets being formed. During the mating process, the casing is deformed such that the support surface engages substantially the whole of the inner or outer surface of the casing.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for hybrid machining a workpiece is disclosed. The workpiece is powered as an anode, a cutter is powered as a cathode and a cutting fluid or coolant is circulated therebetween. The cutter is made of a conductive material and a non-conductive abrasive material. The hybrid machine performs a roughing pass machining operation in which material is removed from the workpiece at a relatively high rate using a high-speed electro-erosion (HSEE) process. Then, the hybrid machine performs a finish pass machining operation in which material is removed from the workpiece using precision electro-grinding (PEG) process at a different differential electrical potential and/or flushing rate than the roughing pass machining operation to provide a smooth finish without thermal effects on the workpiece.
