  • Patent number: 6551072
Abstract: Compressor has a driving unit. The driving unit is provided within a crank chamber and decreases the discharge capacity when a control valve opens a control passage to increase the pressure within the crank chamber. The throttle passage delivers oil with the compressed refrigerant to the crank chamber regardless of whether the control valve has opened or closed the control passage. Because the throttle passage may continuously deliver the oil to the crank chamber even when the control valve closes the control passage, the mechanical elements within the crank chamber can be reliably and sufficiently lubricated and the crank chamber is prevented from being in an insufficiently lubricated state.

  • Patent number: 6527520
Abstract: A ribbon drive pumping apparatus and method for liquids is disclosed wherein the inherent centrifugal separation that occurs adjacent the pump inlet is used to remove contaminants. The pump has an extended tube having an intake at a first end and an outlet at a second end. A ribbon formed of helical coils is mounted in the tube for rotation and the frequency of the coils decreases from the first end to the second end of the tube. Liquid is collected at the first end, contaminants are centrifugally separated and sorbed or bled off, an axial component of velocity of the liquid is increased via the rotating ribbon, and the purified liquid is ejected from the second end to provide pumping of the liquid. A central opening helps decrease cavitation and can be useful for pumping live fish.

When the electromagnetic blower is operated with low output, coils of an electromagnet are connected in series with each other, and an alternating current is supplied from an AC power source. When the blower is operated with high output, on the other hand, current is supplied to the one coil only. In the case where the electromagnetic blower is used for sewage disposal, the electromagnetic blower is operated with low output during aeration and with high output during reverse cleaning operation. Thereupon, the electromagnetic blower can operate with low noise during aeration, and the efficiency of reverse cleaning can be improved. Abstract: To provide a gas compressor that is suitable for reducing cost for the overall compressor without degrading the oil separation performance needed for the compressor and that may keep the oil separation performance constant for a long period of time. An oil separator having a pipe structure composed only of a discharge pipe formed integrally with a side block as a means for separating a lubricant oil component contained in high pressure cooling medium gas is adapted. In this case, the discharge pipe is adapted to form a discharge route for the high pressure cooling medium gas without any bypass immediately before an inner wall of a compressor case from a first discharge chamber. The separation of the lubricant oil component is performed by collision of the high pressure cooling medium gas, immediately after discharged from a cylinder discharge port to the first discharge chamber, against the inner wall of the compressor case through the discharge pipe without reducing a high flow rate.

Abstract: A self priming pump system that includes a motor coupled to a centrifugal pump for driving the centrifugal pump. A separator having a reservoir is provided for storing a limited amount of pumped fluid in advance of the centrifugal pump. A vacuum source provides a vacuum suction to the reservoir to draw pumped fluid into the reservoir to prime the pump. To increase the reliability of the vacuum pump system, a deflector and/or extension may be provided in the reservoir to help prevent pumped fluid from entering the vacuum pump input. Also, the configuration of a tank used to store liquid for the vacuum pump system may be configured to separate and collect sediments near a drain port, which then can be easily drained. For positive head pressures, one or more valves may be used to prevent pumped fluid from escaping the reservoir, if desired.

Abstract: Pumping cartridges are disclosed for use in pumping systems. One such cartridge includes a series of fluid flow paths therein and a bypass valve therein, the bypass valve can selectively block fluid flow along one or both of two fluid flow paths through the valve. In some embodiments, the pumping cartridges are removable from a reusable pump drive component. In some embodiments the pumping cartridges comprise a substantially rigid component having one or more channels and/or depressions therein covered by a membrane so that together the rigid component and the membrane define a series of fluid flow paths, pump chambers and fluidic valves, including a bypass valve.

Abstract: A package-type screw compressor includes a low-pressure stage state compressor and a high-pressure stage compressor. Motive power is transmitted from an electric motor to the two compressors via a speed increaser. The discharge gas, compressed and heated to a high temperature by the low-pressure stage compressor, is cooled by an intercooler. The discharge gas, compressed and heated to a high temperature by the high-pressure stage compressor, is cooled by an aftercooler. A casing of the intercooler and that of the aftercooler are formed integrally with a speed increaser casing, reducing the number of component parts. A cooler portion, formed by the intercooler and the aftercooler, is spaced from the speed increaser casing, thereby preventing heat, produced by the compressed air, from being transmitted to the speed increaser casing.

Abstract: The method relates to the operation of a cross-flow filtration installation for a product. This installation includes a filtration module (6), a pipeline (3) for the inflow of the product, a pipeline (9) for removing the product, a pump (4) with an electric motor (12) for recirculating the product, and a control valve (5′) for setting the conveying flow (Q1) of the pump (4).
