  • Patent number: 10350556
Abstract: A compact interaction chamber is used to cause high shear, impact forces, and cavitation to reduce particle size and mix fluids while reducing waste and holdup volume. A first housing made of stainless steel holds an inlet mixing chamber element and an outlet mixing chamber element in a female bore using thermal expansion. The inlet and outlet mixing chamber elements are manufactured so that the diameter of the cooled female bore is slightly smaller than the diameter of the mixing chamber elements. The first housing is heated, expanding the diameter of the female bore enough to allow the inlet and outlet mixing chamber elements to be inserted. After the mixing chamber elements are inserted and aligned within the female bore, the first housing is allowed to cool. Once cooled, the female bore contracts and applies sufficient hoop stress to securely hold the mixing chamber elements during high shear force mixing.

  • Patent number: 9388593
Abstract: A safety device for a drain sump includes a drain adjunct member and an adapter for attaching the drain adjunct member to the main drain pipe that is in connection with the pool or spa pump. The drain adjunct member is “T-shaped” for limiting the possibility of limb entrapment and further includes anti-hair entangling mesh and vacuum relief holes for limiting the possibility of hair and body entrapment. In the event that an individual does block water flow into the drain adjunct member, the unblocked vacuum relief holes prevent a vacuum force from being created by allowing increased intake of water therethrough. The arrangement of the vacuum relief holes on the body of the drain adjunct member disrupts the vortex effect otherwise created by the typical single direction flow of water in a standard main drain pipe, thereby further limiting the likelihood of limb, body or hair entrapment.

Abstract: In general, a piston-type pump includes a wash flow path that allows a wash liquid such as water to pass through to provide washing and cleaning as the pump operates. The pump may be used in precision liquid dispensing systems and particularly with liquid solutions that have a tendency to precipitate solid particulate. By washing a portion of the pump piston, the liquid solution being dispensed and any solid particulates may be carried away and removed from the pump.

Abstract: An oil recovery member, a motor mechanism, and a compressor using the same are provided. The oil recovery member is provided to prevent oil rising along a rotational shaft from being discharged with refrigerant, and relative sizes, such as installation positions between the oil recovery member and components adjacent thereto, are restricted. As the oil flow is guided through a passage defined between the oil recovery member and the adjacent components, the oil may be efficiently recovered, so that, an oil circulation rate of a freezing cycle may be reduced and compression efficiency improved.

Abstract: Flood water removal systems including a motor, a vacuum generating device, a discharge pump, and a vacuum tank can be efficiently arranged to be transversely mounted to a vehicle. Certain flood water removal systems can include a supercharger driven by the engine to generate vacuum. The systems can include a valve to prevent collapse of a vacuum tank and maintain a predetermined vacuum pressure without varying the speed of the motor. The systems can also include a two-stage exhaust that blends exhaust from the blower with motor exhaust in a silencer to reduce noise generation for operation in residential or other noise-sensitive settings. The systems can also include a vacuum tank comprising a noise reduction baffle to further reduce noise generation.

Abstract: Dispensers, refill units and pumps are disclosed herein. The refill units include a container secured to a pump. Some exemplary refill units for dispensers include a container for holding a liquid and a post seal pump. As the post seal pump operates, a piston moves up and down over the pump seal. When the piston shaft is in a first position, fluid flows into the pump chamber and one or more apertures through the piston shaft are sealed off by the post seal. When the piston shaft is in a second position, the piston engages a wall of the pump chamber and the one or more apertures are away from the post seal to provide a fluid path from the pump chamber to the interior of the hollow piston shaft and is dispensed through an output.
