  • Patent number: 7418948
Abstract: A stator core of a motor arrangement includes six cores, which are arranged one after another in a circumferential direction. A bobbin, which is made of dielectric resin, is fitted to each core. Each coil is formed such that a winding is wound around the bobbin through a concentrated winding technique. Dielectric resin is filled between each circumferentially adjacent two teeth to cover each coil. Furthermore, the dielectric resin is molded to form clearances, each of which is formed between the corresponding circumferentially adjacent two teeth on a rotor side. Fuel, which is pressurized by a pump arrangement, passes an interior of the motor arrangement through a fuel passage, which is a gap between an inner peripheral surface of the stator core and an outer peripheral surface of the rotor, and also through the clearances.

The centrifugal fan motor employs a cantilever-type impeller constituted by an impeller blade unit that includes a lower endwall portion at axial one end, having a wall surface for breaking the flow of air along the rotational axis, and an opening at the other axial end. The impeller is configured so that the radius r to the outer circumference of the impeller blade unit is smaller than the axial height h of the impeller. When an airflow that enters through the impeller opening is forced out towards outer periphery of the impeller blade unit, windage loss at the wall surface of the lower endwall portion of the impeller is reduced, which realizes high-efficiency cooling performance that complements motor performance.

Abstract: A fluid pump for pumping fluid. The fluid pump includes a driver having a substantially tubular shaped body defining a body axis and, a number of elements circumferentially spaced around the body. Each element is responsive to a signal to so as cause a corresponding portion of the body to expand or contract in a direction substantially parallel to the tube axis. The pump also includes an urging member positioned in a flow path. In use, the urging member is coupled to the driver such that selective expansion and/or contraction of the body causes the urging member to rotate, thereby urging fluid along the flow path.
