Means Permitting Removal Or Substitution Of Elements During Apparatus Operation Patents (Class 425/185)
  • Patent number: 6358448
Abstract: Apparatus and method reclaim make-up of the type ordinarily supplied in block form by processing broken, unusable random-sized pieces of such make-up into a block of usable make-up of prescribed consistency, size and configuration, by advancing the random-sized pieces through a mesh member of selected mesh size to form intermediate particles of a size appropriate for agglomeration into the block of usable make-up. A measured charge of intermediate particles is established in a compression chamber where the measured charge is compressed by a ram into a mold member to form the block. The mold member preferably includes a tray which selectively is removed to a cosmetic case for ease of carrying and using the reclaimed make-up.

  • Patent number: 6315544
Abstract: A length adjustable extension bar for connecting a mold ejector plate to a press ejector plate comprises a rotatable member threadingly secured on one end of a threaded stud. An opposite end of the threaded stud is connected to the press ejector plate and a distal end or head of the rotatable member is connected to the mold ejector plate. Rotation of the rotatable member relative to the threaded stud increases or decreases the overall length of the extension bar. A locking assembly comprising a locking sleeve biased by a spring into engagement with a locking nut is mounted on the extension bar to prevent adjustments in the length of the extension bar without first advancing the locking sleeve out of engagement with the locking nut. The locking sleeve is slidably mounted on the rotatable member shaft but is prevented from rotating relative to the shaft by a pin extending through the rotatable member shaft and aligned slots formed on opposite sides of the locking sleeve.

  • Patent number: 6312244
Abstract: A plant is provided for manufacture of latex foam products comprising recesses, such as mattresses, cushions and the like. The plant makes use of a plurality of carriers placed in a ring-like configuration limited by a first, upper stretch between a foam injecting station and a product-removing station and by a second lower stretch for the return of the carriers devoid of foam, to the injecting station. At any moment the first stretch is filled with carriers, touching each other and making a single mold on which foam is injected, while on the second stretch, at least one carrier, or a discrete number of carriers, considerably separated form one another, travel. The carriers of the first and second stretch are moved by different and independent operating systems and the speed of the carriers in the second stretch is considerably higher than the speed of the carriers in the first stretch, so that, a carrier can always be present at the injecting station, while another carrier leaves the removing station.

  • Patent number: 6213751
Abstract: A forming plate for a bakery machine is provided having a working surface area on an upper side with an array of forming bowls provided concentrically in circles thereon. The bowls each have a system of concentric annular edges beginning at an outside and extending to a center. From each annular edge there extends, in the direction towards the center, an annular flank oriented perpendicular to the underside of the forming plate. This flank is divided into two sequential annular ramp sections via an intermediate transition zone. The annular ramp section which extends from the annular edge viewed in the direction away from the center has an angle of inclination (&agr;1) which is greater than the angle of inclination (&agr;2) of the immediately following annular ramp section. This achieves an acute-angled, knife-like shaping of the ramp sections which follow on from the annular edge, as well as from a considerable height of the annular edge above the flank base.

Abstract: A lower mold attachment plate, on the upper surface of which the fixed mold half is attached, is fixed to a machine base. An upper mold attachment plate, to which the movable mold half is attached in opposite to the fixed mold half, is movable upwardly and downwardly by mold moving cylinders. A rotary disc, which has plural injection cylinder insertion holes in the same circle in vertical alignment with plural injection cylinder insertion holes of the upper mold attachment plate, is rotatably pivoted on the upper surface of the upper mold attachment plate. Plural injection units arranged over the rotary disc in predetermined distances along the circle are joined with the rotary disc as a unit. As the rotary disc is rotated to a divided angular position, a slide fastener chain is conveyed along the extension of the chain travelling path, by a predetermined length at every injection molding by means of chain conveyer.

  • Patent number: 5427517
Abstract: Clogging and prolonged down times are avoided in a pelletizer for paste type materials such as sludge by providing an extruder hopper with at least one, preferably two, lower edge slide gates which can be opened to permit movement of a clogged screen zone out of alignment with the discharge opening of the hopper. The clogging material can be scraped off from the screen portion that is taken out of alignment with the hopper discharge opening. The cutting of the extruded sludge is accomplished by an oscillating lower screen section that slides back and forth below the upper screen section. The upper screen section is provided with two, preferably three zones, two of which are perforated and one of which is unperforated to form a closure for the hopper discharge opening. Screeding non-pelletizable material off the screen surface is accomplished either by a separate screeding device or by operating the slide gate or gates as screeds.
