Abstract: The present invention relates to a shielding system for conductor cables as well as to a method for producing said shielding system. The system is characterized in that it comprises a corrugated tube (20) coated with one or more thin films of high electrical conductivity material (30) which are reversibly adhered to the surface of said corrugated tube (20) so that said coating can be uncoupled from the corrugated tube due to high bending values of the tube itself. The shielding system according to the present invention therefore combines the excellent shielding efficacy values of a system having thin metal films with the excellent flexibility properties of a corrugated plastic tube.

Abstract: A system of rollers can transfer fluid from a reservoir to an electrically conductive wire feeding past the reservoir. The system can include a first cylinder that contacts the reservoir and rotates to pick up fluid from the reservoir. A second cylinder can contact the first cylinder and rotate. Fluid can transfer between the first cylinder and the second cylinder. The second cylinder can contact the feeding wire such that the second cylinder applies the fluid to the wire as the wire feeds past the second cylinder. Accordingly, two rotating cylinders can cooperatively transfer fluid from the reservoir to the moving wire.

Abstract: A self-bonding conductive wire and methods in which it is made and used. The wire comprises a conductor, an insulator, and a self-bonding outer coating. The self-bonding outer coating is a polyester polyether block copolymer. The insulator is an ethylene/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer, one or more layers of which may be used to insulate the conductor. The self-bonding capabilities of the wire may be activated by heating the wire, causing the outer coating to thermoplastically deform and fuse, allowing for the creation of self-supporting structures such as large bobbin-less coils. The use of the polyester polyether block copolymer for the self-bonding outer coating is superior to other materials, in which significant degradation of qualitative properties following self-bonding is observed, resulting in a superior self-bonding conductive wire.

The method includes extruding a receptor cross-linkable polymer that is substantially free of curing agent about a conductive core and extruding a donor polymer in association with a curing agent. The method includes disposing the donor polymer about the receptor polymer and conductive core to create a multi-layer wire pre-product. The method also includes heat curing a multi-layer wire pre-product to form a wire.
