Abstract: A three-dimensionally structured fiber fabric has a high fluid absorption capacity of at least 5 g fluid per g of fiber fabric and elevations and depressions that occur alternately and regularly with reference to the fabric plane, which includes at least one nonwoven fabric layer and a shrunk fabric bonded to it. The bond between the nonwoven fabric layer and the shrunk fabric has been produced by hot bonding, and the hot bonding occurred at least perpendicular to the direction of the greatest shrinkage of the shrunk fabric, in the form of regularly arranged lines. Furthermore, spaces have formed between the nonwoven fabric layer and the shrunk fabric, at the alternately occurring elevations and depressions, which spaces promote the fluid absorption capacity of the fabric. These fabrics may be used as wiping cloths, wet wipes, as fluid dispensers for cleaning or for applying fluids, etc.

The cutting tool comprises a basic body (1) presenting an active end portion (2) coated with a diamond film obtained by the CVD growth technique, having superficial accidents (10) that are arranged and dimensioned to produce a substantial increase of the seating area for the diamond film and an increased degree of mechanical interference with the latter. This invention refers to the cutting tool above and to the process of obtaining said tool, to be generally used for cutting, drilling, abrading and trimming, and particularly to be coupled to ultrasonic systems.

Abstract: A composite prepreg base which includes a raw prepreg base comprising a fiber sheet comprising discontinuous reinforcing fibers arranged in one direction and having a fiber length of 1-300 mm and a matrix resin infiltrated into the fiber sheet; and an additional resin layer formed on at least one surface of the raw prepreg base. The composite prepreg base is produced by a process including (i) the step of preparing the raw prepreg base and (ii) the step of forming an additional resin layer on at least one surface of the raw prepreg base prepared. Also provided are: a layered base including two or more sheets of the composite prepreg base which have been superposed so that the additional resin layer is present on at least one surface; and a fiber-rein-forced plastic formed by heating and pressing the layered base.

  • Patent number: 7695802
Abstract: A slat for use in a covering for an architectural opening is made from a base material of binder and matrix fibers which are formed into a nonwoven material by melting at least a portion of the binder fibers to thermally bond the binder and matrix fibers. A coating of resin is then applied to the thermally bonded base before the composite material is passed through a forming apparatus where the material is heated over a convex support having the desired curvature for the slat and subsequently cooled.
