Abstract: The present invention discloses a nanocomposite membrane for heavy metal rejection and a preparation method thereof. The nanocomposite membrane comprises a porous membrane prepared from a two-dimensional sheet material and a hydrophilic inorganic nanomaterial distributed between the sheets of the two-dimensional material. The effective pore size of the nanocomposite membrane under wet conditions is not greater than 1.2 nm. The static water contact angle of the nanocomposite membrane is not greater than 45°. The preparation method of the nanocomposite membrane comprises: adding reactants on both sides of a nanoporous membrane to carry out an interfacial synthesis reaction to obtain the nanocomposite membrane. The method is simple and controllable. Driven by lower pressure, heavy metal ions in water are rejected by a pore size screening function, thereby achieving the purpose of deep removal. The nanocomposite membrane can be used to quickly remove heavy metal ions from water.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to optical retardation films. The invention may be used as optical element in liquid crystal display (LCD) devices, particularly as phase-shifting component of LCDs of both reflection and transmission type, and in ant other field of science and technology where optical retardation films are applied such as architecture, automobile industry, decoration arts. The present invention provides an optical film comprising a substrate having front and rear surfaces, and at least one solid optical retardation layer on the front surface of the substrate. The solid optical retardation layer comprises organic rigid rod-like macromolecules based on 2,2?-disulfo-4,4?-benzidine terephthalamide-isophthalamide copolymer or its salt of the general structural formula I. The solid optical retardation layer is a negative C-type or Ac-type plate substantially transparent to electromagnetic radiation in the visible spectral range.

Abstract: A protective film for a polarizing membrane is provided which is prevented in light leakage generation, and excellent in moldability. The protective film contains a polyamide resin, and is subjected to an orientation (e.g., a drawing) to have a retardation value of not less than 300 nm. The polyamide resin may also contain an alicyclic polyamide resin, e.g., a resin whose monomers are an alicyclic diamine and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid. The polyamide resin may have microcrystallinity. The Abbe number of the polyamide resin may be not less than 40.

  • Patent number: 8399098
Abstract: A laminate comprises an ionomeric interlayer sheet which, in turn, comprises or is prepared from a sodium/zinc mixed ionomer that comprises carboxylate groups and a combination of counterions that consists essentially of sodium cations and zinc cations. The sodium/zinc mixed ionomer is the neutralization product of a precursor acid copolymer. The precursor acid copolymer comprises copolymerized units of an ?-olefin and an ?,?-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, and it has a melt flow rate of about 70 to about 1000 g/10 min. In addition, the precursor acid copolymer, when neutralized to a level of about 40% to about 90%, and when comprising counterions that consist essentially of sodium ions, produces a sodium ionomer that has a freeze enthalpy that is not detectable or that is less than about 3.0 j/g, when determined by differential scanning calorimetry.
