  • Patent number: 9017779
Abstract: The present invention provides an ink jet recording medium which is capable of uniform coating with an ink-receiving agent without a surface treatment step for a usual plastic film used as a base material, and which, due to excellent adhesion , does not cause the problem of peeling after ink jet printing, and does not cause the problem of ink binning, fading, dropout, or peeling or peeling of an ink-receiving layer and an over-coating layer, and also provides a printed material formed by ink jet printing on the ink jet recording medium. The ink jet recording medium including a first layer containing a polyolefin resin as a main component, a second layer containing an acid-modified olefin resin, and an ink-receiving layer is used, the ink-receiving layer being formed by applying an ink-receiving agent on the second layer after the first and second layers are laminated by a coextrusion laminating method.

Abstract: A film formed from a water-soluble polymer matrix containing a fragrance is provided. The film is water-sensitive so that upon contact with a sufficient amount of water, the matrix loses its integrity to increasingly expose the fragrance to the ambient environment for releasing its odor. The ability to incorporate a fragrance into the matrix is achieved by controlling the nature of the fragrance and polymer, the manner in which the matrix and fragrance are melt processed, etc. For example, the fragrance may be injected directly into the extruder and melt blended with the polymer to avoid the costly, time-consuming steps of pre-encapsulation or pre-compounding of the fragrance into a masterbatch. Furthermore, to balance the fragrance's ability to release the desired odor during use while minimizing the premature exhaustion of the odor during processing, the fragrance has a boiling point (at atmospheric pressure) of from about 125° C. to about 350° C.

Abstract: New polymeric dielectric materials are provided for high power capacitors, especially for mobile and weapons applications. These materials utilize aminoplast crosslinking in their polymeric structure. The aminoplast crosslinking ability of these materials allows them to be customized for a number of applications, but also allows the materials to have a higher crosslinking density, leading to higher dielectric constants, higher breakdown voltage, and higher thermal stability. These materials can be incorporated into current capacitor manufacturing schemes with little to no processing changes.
