  • Patent number: 8399095
Abstract: A solar cell module comprises a solar cell layer and an ionomer sheet. The ionomer sheet comprises a first ionomer that is the neutralized product of a first precursor acid copolymer, which, in turn, comprises copolymerized units of ethylene and about 20 to about 30 wt % of copolymerized acrylic or methacrylic acid. The first precursor acid copolymer has a melt flow rate of about 70 to about 1000 g/10 min. When neutralized to a level of about 40% to about 90% and when comprising counterions that consist essentially of sodium cations, the first precursor acid copolymer produces a sodium ionomer that has a melt flow rate of about 0.7 to about 25 g/10 min and a freeze enthalpy that is not detectable or that is less than about 3.0 j/g. The ionomer sheet may further comprise a second ionomer that is different from the first ionomer.

Abstract: A substrate has a surface printed with an ink or coating composition with excellent adhesion and dry rub resistance, and very good oil and saline rub resistance (crock) properties using a multi-functional carbodiimide as a crosslinker for nonwoven substrates. The rub performance of the ink or coating printed on a nonwoven substrate has been found to be superior to that of a first Sun benchmark ink including pigments for four color printing. In another embodiment, a carbodiimide crosslinker such as multifunctional Carbodilite SV-02 is added to the compositions to further improve rub resistance (crock) and retain liquid characteristics post inoculation when compared to compositions using aziridine as a crosslinker. In a further embodiment, a thin polyolefin film exemplifying a backsheet of a hygiene product was printed with the same crosslinked ink or coating composition and compared with a second Sun benchmark set of inks.

  • Patent number: 8361696
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polymer resin compound including a new polycyclic compound, and a photosensitive resin composition including the polymer resin compound as an effective binder matrix. In particular, the photosensitive resin composition according to the present invention uses a polymer resin compound, which includes a compound having double cyclic structure in one molecule as a monomer, as a binder matrix. Accordingly, the photosensitive resin composition has an excellent photosensitivity and an excellent developing property, and has a low distortion property during plastic processing. For this reason, the photosensitive resin composition has an advantage of curing various transparent photosensitive materials used to manufacture a color filter of a liquid crystal display, for example, a column spacer, an overcoat, a passivation material, and the like.

  • Patent number: 8361583
Abstract: A welded joint for structural component having two or more portions fused together at a weld line. An adhesive layer is placed between the two or more portions at the location of the weld line and a conductor is placed between the two or more portions in operable contact with the adhesive. Energy is transmitted through the conductor and into the adhesive layer to activate the adhesive layer and create the weld line that defines the welded joints between the two or more portions. The welded joint of the structural component allows energy to be injected into the adhesive layer via the conductor in order to cause the adhesive layer to activate from the inside of the adhesive outward. The conductor can be placed adjacent the adhesive layer or within the adhesive layer in order to cause the adhesive to be activated from the inside outward.
