    Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel color coupler for photography and a silver halide color photographic material comprising the same, wherein the color coupler is one of the .beta.,.gamma.-unsaturated nitriles represented by formula (I). The invention provides for a color coupler, particularly a cyan coupler, which forms color images less in subsidiary absorption, good in color reproduction, and excellent in fastness, and a silver halide color photographic material having color images as described above.
