The system may provide the image as input to a machine-learning model previously trained to determine whether the received image includes a threshold amount of information to indicate that received location information indicates a location corresponding to the received image. Based at least in part on an output of the machine-learning model indicating that the received image meets the threshold, the system may store the associated location information as mapping information associated with the location.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for styling hair using an apparatus preferably shaped as a hand having finger like elements that are flexible and can be separated from each so that a strand of hair can be inserted in between two of the finger like elements so that the strand is held in place as its being braided. The apparatus is mounted on a base with a clamp for securing the apparatus to a chair, table or other surface to keep the apparatus in place during the braiding of each strand of hair being braided. In another embodiment the apparatus can have three flexible elements that are generally upwardly extending from supporting surface such as a hand like or other structure so that two strands can be placed in between the places between the two end elements and the middle element for braiding.

The nail bearing the color of paint within the bottle is thin and concave in nature and acts as a scraping device to rid the cuticles of excess paint. Abstract: The present invention is in the technical field of cosmetology. More specifically, the present invention is utilized in the application of eyelash extension and storage of the tools used in the application of eyelash extensions. The mannequin head provides students of cosmetology a practical device to practice and perfect the technique of their craft. Existing mannequin heads do not provide the angle or consistency of the eyelid that is necessary for students to apply eyelashes in a manner that is realistic to that of applying an eyelash directly to a human eyelid. Further, the application of eyelash extensions requires numerous tools, and the present invention allows for easy storage and access to these tools.

Abstract: A device for matching the skin shade of a person with the shade of a cosmetic composition includes a tape having a plurality of transparent and opaque portions. The opaque portions have different shades and unique shapes that are coded to so that each portion can be matched to a cosmetic composition of a particular shape by the shape of the portion. When the tape is attached to or at least placed adjacent to the body portion of a person, the opaque portion having a shade that is close to the shade of the skin of the respective body portion becomes substantially invisible.

Abstract: Short single chain peptides having affinity for a target surface often lack the binding durability required for certain commercial applications. One way to improve durability is to promote multivalent binding by linking together binding sequences using peptide linkers. However, the resulting single chain binding peptides often suffer from linker entropy. It has been discovered that the use of rigid peptide linkers when linking together multiple binding sequences enhances the binding affinity of the resulting single chain peptide.

Abstract: A tinted mirror which has been treated to reflect a modified image of skin is used to allow a subject to consider a potential change of the appearance of his/her skin, which would follow from the application of a cosmetic product such as self-tanning product. The mirror may be tinted with a brown hue so as to reflect an image that corresponds to the change of coloration of skin after the application of a self-tanning product. The invention may be used in beauty parlor or supermarket aisle to help a subject visualize the potential effect of a self-tanning product on his/her skin.
