Abstract: Crude oil middle distillates with improved cold flow properties, containing small amounts ofA. conventional flow improver on an ethylene base, andB. copolymers which consist of 10 to 95 mol-% of one or more acrylacrylates or alkylmethacrylates with C.sub.1 - to C.sub.26 -alkyl chains, and of 5 to 90 mol-% of one or more ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acids or their anhydrides, where the copolymer is reacted to a large extent with one or several primary or secondary amines into the monoamide or amide/ammonia salt of dicarboxylic acid, and the quantitative proportion of A to B is from 40 to 60 up to 95 to 5.

Abstract: Novel copolymers of unsaturated acidic reactants and high molecular weight olefins wherein at least 20 percent of the total high molecular weight olefin comprises the alkylvinylidene isomer are useful as dispersants in lubricating oils and fuels and also may be used to prepare polysuccinimides and other post-treated additives useful in lubricating oils and fuels.
Abstract: The use as an additive to improve the low temperature properties of distillate fuels having a cloud point (wax appearance temperature) above 0.degree. C. and containing more than 5 wt. % wax at 10.degree. C. below the cloud point (wax appearance temperature) of a mixture of a comb polymer together with a poly-alkyl ester, ether, ester/ether of a polyhydroxy compound.

Abstract: Additives suitable for improving the flow and/or depressing the cloud point of crude oils, lubricating oils and especially fuel oils are polymers containing defined alkyl groups of at least 8 carbon atoms chain length. Such polymers are either (a) of a mixture of monomers having only two alkyl groups being at least 3 carbon atoms longer than the other or (b) of a mixture of monomers having only three alkyl groups each differing by at least 3 carbon atoms and the middle alkyl group being half the combined length of the other two. Alternatively, the polymer may be derived from a monomer having the two defined alkyl groups (a) or the three defined alkyl groups (b).
