    Abstract: Coated inflatable fabrics, more particularly airbags to which very low add-on amounts of coating have been applied, are provided which exhibit extremely low air permeability. The inventive inflatable fabrics are primarily for use in automotive restraint cushions that require low permeability characteristics (such as side curtain airbags). Traditionally, heavy, and thus expensive, coatings of compounds such as neoprene, silicones and the like, have been utilized to provide such required low permeability. The inventive fabric utilizes an inexpensive, very thin coating to provide such necessarily low permeability levels. Thus, the inventive coated inflatable airbag comprises a film laminated on at least a portion of the target fabric surface wherein the film possesses a tensile strength of at least 2,000 and an elongation at break of at least 180%.

The welding portion of the fabric comprises at least a warp or weft which melts under hot pressing to adhere the fabric to a substrate. This enables one to attach the sheet to a column, a stake, a log, a building, a footing, etc., or to attach the welding fabric to another sheet.

    Abstract: Bonded composite open mesh structural textiles are formed of woven textile. The textile is formed from at least two, and preferably three, components. The first component, or load bearing member, is a high tenacity, high modulus, low elongation mono- or multifilament yarn. The second component is a polymer in yarn or other form which will encapsulate and bond yarns at the junctions to strengthen the junctions. The third component is an optional effect or bulking yarn. In the woven textile, a plurality of warp yarns are woven with a plurality of weft (fill) yarns. The weave preferably includes a half-cross or full-cross leno weave. At least a portion of the warp and weft yarns are first component load bearing yarns. The polymer component is used as required for the bonding properties necessary for the finished product, and especially to provide improved junction or joint strength.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a body-adhesive tape having adhesive properties preventing the tape from peeling off due to sweat when it is applied in an overlapped manner, and which also has good moisture permeability. In the body-adhesive tape, a base cloth is formed from a stretchable warp thread and a standard weft thread. On one side of the base cloth a plurality of pressure-sensitive adhesive layers are formed separated by appropriate gaps. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layers are formed so that they meander left and right along the length of the tape. At the gaps, the base cloth is exposed so there is permeability. Since the gap meanders, it is longer than the tape, and thus there is more exposure of the weave and more permeability. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layers meander so that the tape can be attached anywhere on the body and can respond to tension due to body movement from any direction.
