Abstract: A breast cup for a support garment is provided. The breast cup includes a support cup portion, a first gusset extending between an upper-lateral quadrant and a lower-lateral quadrant of the support cup portion, and a second gusset extending between an upper-medial quadrant and a lower-medial quadrant of the support cup portion. The first and second gussets may both comprise a lower modulus of elasticity than the support cup portion and may be configured to expand from a first configuration to a second configuration. When integrated into a support garment, the breast cup may be coupled to an under band portion via a lower gusset that is configured to expand from a first configuration to a second configuration. When worn, the first and second gussets and the lower gusset facilitate a comfortable and supportive fit as the shape of a wearer's breast changes due to adjustments in tension.

Abstract: A soft brassiere garment with flexible support structure having a fabric wing on each side of the garment, another piece of fabric on each side of the garment at least partially comprised by a bra cup allowing for the projection of the breast, with one edge of each cup attached to a wing, and with a seam formed under each cup and extending along an edge. A piece of elastic applied within each seam where the fabric of each wing meets the fabric of each cup and at least one additional piece of elastic attached to the bottom of the garment, wherein the elastic pieces are attached in such a way that the stretch ratio between different points on the garment is modified to influence the amount of projection afforded by different pieces of the garment.

Each of the cup panels includes a fabric layer and a polymer layer applied to the fabric layer. The polymer layer includes at least one continuous region and at least one discontinuous region. The at least one discontinuous region includes a plurality of openings in the polymer layer. The elastic modulus of the cup panel varies between the at least one continuous region and the at least one discontinuous region.

Abstract: The present invention provides a garment with cup sections, which can lift up entire breasts to a higher position and thus can attain improved breast-shaping properties. The garment with cup sections according to the present invention includes: a pair of cup sections 101; and a back section 103. The back section 103 is arranged on lateral sides of the pair of cup sections 101. Each of the cup sections 101 includes an upper breast retaining section 105 arranged between a front-center-side upper edge portion and a lateral-side upper edge portion on an inner side of the cup section 101. The upper breast retaining section 105 is formed so as to cover at least part of an upper breast region positioned obliquely upward to a lateral side relative to a nipple and apply a pressing force to the part.

Abstract: A brassiere according to one embodiment of the present invention is a clothing article having cup parts for covering the breasts, the clothing article having cup hollow parts each of which is provided along a lower edge of the cup part and has a curved shape, the lower edge portion necessitating a small tensile strength for expanding a space between a front center extremity and a side extremity of the curved shape against a retaining force of the lower edge portion of the curved shape; and expansion suppressing parts each of which extends from a front center end to a side end of the lower edge portion along a shape of the cup part in a lower part of the cup part, has a non-stretchable or poorly-stretchable characteristic, and suppresses expansion of the space between the front center extremity and the side extremity of the lower edge portion.

Abstract: A brassiere includes a back portion and a front portion coupled to the back portion at side areas. Straps are coupled to the front portion and the back portion. Cup panels are provided on the front portion and extend to the straps. Each cup panel includes a perimeter cup region and a central cup region located on the front portion and a strap region located on one of the straps. The perimeter cup region and the strap region having a greater elastic modulus than the central cup region. In at least one embodiment, each cup panel includes a first layer and a second layer. The second layer is provided by a polymer sheet including a plurality of openings formed in the polymer sheet. The arrangement of the openings on the polymer sheet contributes to the elastic modulus in the central cup region, the perimeter cup region, and the strap region of the cup panel.

Abstract: A bra for compression stabilizing the breast mass against motion relative to the torso includes a closed cell foam layer having a front, back, sides, and shoulder straps in a pattern to approximately match the contours of a female user's torso. A first fabric layer adjacent to the inner surface of the cell foam layer adjacent to the user's skin, substantially matching the pattern of the closed cell foam fabric layer, provides moisture wicking and comfort. A portion of the closed cell foam fabric layer extends below the breast line and encircles the torso to add motion stabilizing support to the breasts.

Abstract: A brassiere having flexibility, durability, and improved comfort for the wearer is provided. The side panel of the brassiere comprises a folded fabric and two elastic bands. The folded fabric has two opposing longitudinal edges, a top edge, and a bottom edge. Each of the two elastic bands is positioned in the interior of the folded fabric along a respective longitudinal edge, which also includes notches for orienting the bands. The folded fabric is sewn together at each of the top and bottom edges such that the two elastic bands are held in place. One of the longitudinal edges may be formed by sewing the folded fabric together to form a seam using a pull-out stitch. Each of the two elastic bands may include either of a woven elastic band or a knitted elastic band. The present invention further relates to a brassiere in which the side panels can flex independently of each other in conformance to the wearer's movements.

Abstract: A bra top that can be worn between a wearer's regular bra and their outer garment. The bra top is designed so that the wearer can choose to appropriately cover their cleavage when wearing a low-cut top. The bra top includes a front portion having a generally convex lower border, and a back portion attached to or integral with the front portion and having a generally concave lower border. The bra top is comprised of a material having 80% or more natural fibers and 20% or less stretchable synthetic fibers. The convex lower border of the front portion extends lower than the concave lower border of the back portion such that additional material is available to comfortably cover a wearer's breasts.

Abstract: A brassiere includes two cups for the breasts, a contact strip positioned under the cups that encircles an area below the bust, two shoulder straps connected to, and extending upwardly from, the cups, and connected to a rear panel, a middle panel positioned between the two cups, and side panels extending from the cups to the rear panel. Inner layers of the cups having a vertical elasticity of at least 60% with respect to a total vertical height of the cups, and at least 15% of the total area of the inner layers configured to contact the skin. The middle panel has a horizontal elasticity of at least 20%. The adherence capacity of the inner layers of the cups can be increased by a silicone material that has a high friction coefficient.

Abstract: A weft knitting fabric with wrapped yarns as its raw material. The wrapped yarn refer to the spandex with its external layer wrapped with polyamide yarn or polyester silk. It provides smooth and soft hand feel, excellent extensibility and recovery performance, and high level of wearing comfort. If the new weft knitting elastic fabrics of the present invention is applied to model cups of bra, it will improve supporting strength of cups and keep breasts of females towering. If it is applied to sportswear, it will improve extensibility and comfort of sportswear.

Abstract: The Gravity Bra is a suspension-based bra design that provides adjustable, comfortable support for large breasted women through a unique diagonal strap mechanism. The adjustable strap passes along the outside and beneath the user's breasts, sliding freely in a sleeve attached to the bra cup, continuing upward diagonally and crossing unattached in the center, attaching to the strap at a user configurable point above the opposite breast. Thus, the force generated by gravity's effect on each breast creates support for the other breast. The larger the breasts, the more support they provide to one another. The distance between the cups is user adjustable and the bra moves with the user without sacrificing support.

Abstract: A fabric having a memory function, comprising yarns of substantially 100% spandex with a structure of a two-way stretch fabric. The fabric has the “memory” function by which it returns to substantially its original shape after being stretched many times its original size. The fabric can be used to make a laminated fabric in which the memory fabric is sandwiched between a top surface fabric and a bottom surface fabric. The resulting laminated fabric also has the “memory” function and can be used to replace the conventional elastic woven bands used in undergarment in order to increase the elasticity and strength.

The direction of elasticity of the material is more stretchable in the up and down direction than the lateral direction as seen from the front of the wearer, the elastic material includes self-forming cups when worn by a person. Each of the cups has an apex from which shoulder straps emanate to pass over the shoulder of the wearer to cross in the back and being attached to lateral edges on the opposite side of the brassiere. At the lateral sides of the brassiere, fasteners are placed which fasten to corresponding fastener located on the shoulder straps. The shoulder straps are widened at their ends and are also reinforced at that location. The cups receive pads in the shape of a tear drop with the major part of the shape of the tear drop being located at the lateral sides of the brassiere.

Abstract: A post-operative brassiere for use by female patients following cardio-thoracic surgery is disclosed. The post-operative brassiere includes a first breast support cup and a second breast support cup being interconnected by a support strap which is worn about the neck and shoulders of the wearer so as to form an open gap between the first and second breast support cups over the area of the wearer's sternum whereon a surgical incision is located. The conventional torso encircling straps which overlie the sternum in brassieres of the prior art are eliminated. The post-operative brassiere allows access to the incision for routine examination and nursing care while providing adequate support to the wearer's breasts. In one embodiment the breast support cups include elastic panels disposed about the peripheral edges thereof to secure the same in position.

The support assembly includes inner and outer front panels, the later having seam connection to at least the principal supporting cup and the former bearing an underwire. In a modification for the fuller breast, a double cup is interconnected to the outer front panel. An optional prosthesis pocket is also available, wherein a separate piece of fabric is connected at the top of the foundation in both forms of the invention, the fabric hangs down to form a pocket from above. As the prosthesis in inserted from an open side and held in place by the lower pocket, an upper pocket is thus formed.

Abstract: An exercise brassiere having an outer layer adapted to fit over the wearer's upper torso and shoulders and a coextensive inner layer adapted to fit over the front portion of the wearer's upper torso and shoulders. The inner layer and the outer layer are constructed of a lightweight, flexible two-way stretch fabric having a stretchability significantly greater in the horizontal direction than in the vertical direction to provide adequate and comfortable support to the wearer's breasts. The inner layer has cut into it a pair of apertures sized and positioned to receive the breasts of the wearer the apertures being covered by the outer layer. The apertures also provide support to the wearer's breasts and further provide for a natural, contoured appearance to the wearer's breasts.

Abstract: A garment having the combined appearance of a brassiere and a camisole is provided with a camisole top, the brassiere function of the garment being provided by non-stretchable shoulder straps that extend across the interior of the breast cups, and, which are securely connected with the brassiere frames, the shoulder straps extending on a diagonal of the breast cups, portions of the breast cups being reinforced to provide for the support of the weight of the breast.

An elastic cradle has a lower edge anchored to the band, and an upper free edge entirely unattached to the web of the cup so it can move in relative shear-like movement relative to the web. The cradle reinforces the web when the web is substantially deflected by a breast, and supports the lower portion of the breast independently of the web.

Abstract: A brassiere with underarm comfort feature comprises a pair of cup regions to which underarm regions and back regions are connected. An X-crossing or junction is formed by an undercup band which extends under the cup region, and which crosses a lateral band which extends to the side or over the cup region. Upper and lower elastic bands are mounted on opposite sides of an elastic underarm panel which together form the underarm region. Pivoting of the bands which form the X-junction, about the junction, allow the upper and lower side bands to stretch by different amounts to accommodate different proportions for women so that they can wear the bra confortably.

Abstract: A sleeveless bodice type athletic support garment structured of a multi-layered rectangular front and back panel, two length adjustable shoulder straps, a neck opening, two arm apertures, and two openable side seams attachable with hook and loop fasteners to allow size adjustability. The garment is made of a resilient material capable of dissipating heat and perspiration. The interior of the front panel is affixed with a flat rectangular elastic panel to support and stabilize a woman's breasts against her chest. The athletic support garment is especially directed for use by large breasted women who require additional support during strenuous or active sports. The support garment can be worn in place of a bra, over existing clothing or even as an outer garment.

Abstract: A brassiere comprises two bra cups, each including an inner cup and an outer cup peripherally joined together to form upper, lower, inner side and outer side margins. Each of the outer cups is formed of elastic material and each of the inner cups comprises a segment formed of non-elastic material extending upwards from the lower margin and a yoke formed of elastic material connecting the top and sides of the non-elastic segment to the upper, inner side and outer side margins. Thus, the elastic yoke of the inner cup permits the outer cup to accommodate to the breast of the wearer, while the non-elastic segment of the inner cup provides support in the medial region thereof.

Abstract: A brassiere fashioned from a circularly knit fabric blank has a central panel between the breast cups that has a greater resistance to stretching than the remainder of the body of the brassiere. The brassiere preferably is formed from a blank that is knit to have two pairs of breast cups that are arranged in mirror image about a fold region at which the blank is folded to place one set of breast cups in overlying relationship with the other set of breast cups such that the resulting brassiere is a two-ply structure. The brassiere can be formed in either non-underwire or underwire form. When included, the underwires are attached either to an exterior side of one of the plies, or alternatively between the plies. The blank can be circularly knit as a two-ply tubular structure similar to a long turned welt.
