Patent number: 10138658Abstract: A fenestration assembly includes a frame assembly, a movable sash assembly and a lock assembly. The lock assembly includes a first lock and a second side lock. The first lock operatively locks and unlocks the moveable sash to the frame assembly in a first direction only when the movable sash is in a fully closed position. The first side lock operatively locks and unlocks the movable sash in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction both when the movable sash is in the fully closed position and a partially open position.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2016Date of Patent: November 27, 2018Assignee: MILGARD MANUFACTURING INCORPORATEDInventors: Michael A. Publication number: 20150075075Abstract: A multi-panel door assembly is arrangeable into multiple configurations. The multi-panel door assembly includes at least three panel positions, including a first side position, a second side position, and a center position between the first and second side positions, and a corresponding at least three door panels. A fixed door panel is fixed in the first side position, and a secondary door panel is displaceable between the first side position and the second side position. A swinging door jamb is selectively displaceable between an engaged position where the primary door panel is displaceable between the center position and the second side position, and a disengaged position, where the primary door panel is displaceable between the first side position and the second side position.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2013Publication date: March 19, 2015Applicant: Taylor Made Group, LLCInventor: Edward J. Patent number: 8484895Abstract: A door configuration, which improves the operating and locking mechanism and facilitates construction and handling, comprising a door having a sliding door disposed on a casement such that it can be slidably displaced and the casement can he pivoted about an axis relative to a main frame. A lock is provided for locking and unlocking the casement with respect to the main frame, and an operating element is disposed on the sliding door, which can be moved with the sliding door and can be switched between a first position and a second position, wherein, in the first position, the operating element does not obstruct movement of the sliding door on the casement, and, in the second position, the operating element engages with the latch or a carrier, such that, when the casement is closed, the latch is operated when the sliding door is moved.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2009Date of Patent: July 16, 2013Assignee: Bruker AXS GmbHInventor: Norbert Kuhnmuench

Patent number: 8419669Abstract: A knee brace assembly is provided having an adjustable, pressure-applying gear system mounted to a portion of the hinge assembly. Through selective adjustment of the gear system, the knee brace assembly can apply pressure to a portion or portions of the knee joint, thereby relieving pressure on the knee joint. A method of treating a knee joint using a knee brace assembly including a planetary gear system is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2009Date of Patent: April 16, 2013Assignee: DJO, LLCInventor: Robert Bejarano

Patent number: 7670308Abstract: An articulated, adjustable, and lockable alignment arm, and associated extensions and accessories, which are user manipulable to model the size and shape of the fractured limb of a patient in the field. The alignment arm includes a first elongated arm segment, a second elongated arm segment, and connector means for interconnecting the first segment to the second segment through respective pivotal receivers having normal axes of rotation. The alignment arm is adjusted for proper orientation by setting it over the injury, and then locking the arm into a selected orientation which models the patient's limb around the area of the injury. Next, first and second arm extenders and protective end pads are used to expand the effective size of the alignment arm to form a custom splint structure. Lastly, the splint structure is secured to the patient's injured limb through the use of flexible cravats.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2008Date of Patent: March 2, 2010Inventor: Anthony G. Patent number: 7481026Abstract: A new and improved window assembly includes a window frame, and a window sash having an open-tilted and a closed position. The window sash has pivot pins that engage kidney shaped receptacles located on the window frame. The kidney shaped receptacles permit movement of the window sash into the open-tilted or closed position. The design of the present invention minimizes the parts needed to assemble the window assembly making such a window assembly cheaper to manufacture and easier to assemble.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2003Date of Patent: January 27, 2009Assignee: BB Plastics, L.L.C.Inventor: Arthur Silverman

Patent number: 5095583Abstract: Folding-arm bearing for an oscillating-swinging leaf of doors, windows or the like, comprises a support inserted on the sash-frame and a square-shaped blade having a wing onto which is pivotally mounted a plate bearing a folding-arm leg by a connector. In order to facilitate the reversibility of this folding-arm bearing without disassembling of components, the wing of the blade is provided, on its upper and lower edges, with a pin engaging into an opening made in the connector, and the plate is mounted onto this wing by means of an eccentric having a rotation which generates a vertical movement of the plate causing the disengagement of a pin from the opening present in the connector.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 1990Date of Patent: March 17, 1992Assignee: Ferco International Usine de Ferrures de BatimentInventor: Gerard Prevot

Patent number: 3981101Abstract: A window construction having slidable and swinging hinged sashes is disclosed. The pivot arrangement for each sash is constructed for swinging of the sash about a vertical axis. Each sash is usually confined within the frame of the window by a pressure urged sash balance. The sash balance is constructed so that the sash may be moved against the sash balance to position it for swinging away from the frame. A removable T-shaped locking element is received in a channel provided in the jamb adjacent the pivot arrangement of the sashes. One member of the pivot arrangement is disposed within the jamb and has a vertical pivot pin formed thereon. The other member of the pivot arrangement receives one edge of the window pane and has a receptical complementary in shape to the pivot pin. The inner member of the pivot arrangement has a tab portion which cooperates with the locking element to keep the sash secured to the frame. Removing the locking element permits removal of the entire sash from the frame.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1975Date of Patent: September 21, 1976Assignee: G & S Metal Products Inc.Inventor: Anthony Guzzi
