  • Patent number: 4687462
Abstract: The invention relates to process and apparatus for the automatic insertion of prefabricated box-shaped bags made of flexible packaging material into large box-shaped containers with a capacity of more than 100 liters. The bags are suspended on rolling carriages in such a way that two opposing sides are extended at the bag edge, the rolling carriage equipped in this way is transported to a transfer point where one side of the bag is received by a pulling device, and as a result of movement of the pulling device the bag is extended fully at its upper edge. Subsequently, the bag is received by a spreading device and introduced by way of the spreading device into a large container. The edges at the upper margin of the bag may be cut to form marginal side flaps for transfer into appropriate retaining devices on the large container.

  • Patent number: 4674997
Abstract: Packing paper receiving and folding method and apparatus are disclosed. The method has the steps of receiving and supporting a packing paper through an opening portion defined between suction arms of a suction ring; moving an arbor into the suction ring accompanying packing paper folded in a U-shape through the opening portion; effecting body folding of the packing paper using the arbor as a core member; and effecting flaps folding within the suction ring while properly maintaining the state of the body folding. The apparatus has a rotatable suction ring including a bracket, a pair of suction arms pivotable with respect to the bracket, the other ends of the suction arms defining an opening portion therebetween so that an arbor can enter therethrough, folding claws mounted on the insides of the suction arms and a bottom clamp positioned in the opening portion; a U-clamp provided within the suction ring for body folding; and a seaming clamp approaching to and departing from the arbor.

  • Patent number: 4650449
Abstract: A packing paper receiving and folding apparatus is disclosed. It has a rotatable suction ring including a bracket, a pair of suction arms axially supported at their one ends in a pivotable manner with respect to the bracket, the other ends of the suction arms defining an opening portion between them so that an arbor can enter from there, folding claws mounted on the inside of at least one of the suction arms, and a bottom clamp positioned in the opening portion to complete the suction ring having substantially an annular outer periphery; a U-clamp provided within the suction ring for body folding, a main presser for pressing an inner bag provided within the suction ring in such a manner as to be openable; and a seaming clamp approaching to and departing from the arbor.

  • Patent number: 4642083
Abstract: Discrete sheets of separator material for use in dry cells are introduced tangentially into an annular clearance between the cylindrical internal surface of an outer tool and the cylindrical peripheral surface of an inner tool, and the inner tool is rotated about its axis while one or more spring-biased rollers urge the sheet in the clearance against its peripheral surface so that the sheet is converted into an inner tube which tends to expand radially and is introduced into an outer tube in response to axial shifting of the inner tool. A shoulder between the inner tool and a support for the inner tool pushes one end face of the inner tube from the clearance, and the inner tube is free to expand radially into contact with the internal surface of the respective outer tube in response to complete expulsion from the outer tool.

  • Patent number: 4257317
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a paper container, where a parallelepiped inner body in the form of a box having no top panel board from a first blank sheet of corrugated board or card board is first fashioned. An outer body by packaging the inner body with a second blank sheet in such a manner that said outer body is in close contact with the outside of the inner body is then made. Finally, a continuous cut in the outer body is made to divide the outer body into the upper part and the lower part so that said upper part of the outer body can be detachably mounted on the inner body.
