Abstract: A prone positioning apparatus includes a support member for supporting an infant in a prone position. The support member has first and second ends, first and second sides having first and second opposing recesses, respectively, a top surface facing the infant, and a bottom surface. A first portion disposed at or about the first end, supports the infant's head or trunk. A second portion extends from the first portion and supports the other of the infant's head or trunk. The infant's head and trunk are, therefore, aligned and elevated with respect to at least a portion of the infant's arms and legs, in order that the infant's spine is substantially straight. The first and second recesses receive at least a portion of one of the infant's arms. A support system including at least one accessory for securing the infant in the prone position, is also disclosed.

Abstract: An infant support structure with which an electronic device can be used is disclosed. In one embodiment, the infant support structure is configured to be used with an electronic device that can enhance the experience of an infant or child on the infant support structure. In addition, softgoods for an infant support structure is disclosed.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a support pillow comprises a pillow body having a medial region and two opposing arms that form a well region, a first side and a second side. The pillow body further includes an outer periphery and an inner periphery outlining the well region. The pillow body further comprises a fill material and a cover enveloping the fill material. The cover comprises a main section that extends about the first and second sides and the outer periphery, and a center panel coupled to the main section so as to be located along the inner periphery. Also, the center panel is constructed of a woven fabric having two grain directions that are generally perpendicular to each other and a bias. The woven fabric is generally non-stretchable in at least one of the grain directions, and the center panel is coupled to the main section so as to be substantially on the bias.

Abstract: A baby changing pad having an internal water-resistant pocket for storing wipes includes a sealable end opening to the internal pocket for ingress of wipes and a top opening through the pad to the pocket through which wipes are dispensed.

Abstract: A pillow system set comprises a curved, U-shaped main pillow. The main pillow is both flexible and firm to permit it to wrap around a user while nursing an infant. A separate companion pillow is included in the pillow system set. In one embodiment the companion pillow is round or circular. The companion pillow may be used in 1 of 2 ways: 1) to place within a user's hip, when seated, under the main pillow, to prop up one side of the main pillow when wrapped around a user's waist during feeding, and 2) as a toy for an infant. Some embodiments of the companion pillow may contain a rattle enclosed within an interior compartment of the pillow. An additional piece to the pillow system set is a flat, rectangular fabric or protective towel to serve dual-use: 1) to act as a protectant to the main pillow, preventing soils from penetrating the main pillow, and 2) as a burp cloth to lay over a user's shoulder while burping an infant.

Abstract: A child restraint device for use with a changing surface for diapering a child, which includes a rear panel, two vest flaps each attached to the rear panel, and two affixing flaps for securing the rear panel to the changing surface. Each of the two vest flap has a multiple-sided shape with a first side attached to a top edge of the rear panel, a third side attached to a side edge of the rear panel, and a second side between the first and third side forming an arm opening. The attachment locations of the two flaps to the top edge of the rear panel are spaced apart from each other for accommodating the head of the child. The two vest flaps include means for attaching them together.

Abstract: Support structures which can be placed around the waist of a user, for example a mother nursing twins. A front member and a rear member cooperate to provide an openable enclosure which can first be placed around, and then closed around, the waist of the user. The front member provides a platform which is in front of the user and on which are placed one or more babies, or other items desired by the user. The platform has desired characteristics, for example a first surface which is horizontal and a second surface which is inclined towards the user.

Abstract: A device and method for preventing and correcting abnormal shaping of an infant's cranium by applying external forces over time with the growth of an infant to achieve normal shaping of the infant's head. The device is a cranial orthosis having a depression with a contact surface in the shape of at least a portion of a normal infantile cranium. The orthosis further provides lateral support surfaces creating points of contact to restrict rotation of the infant's cranium and provide additional external forces for normal shaping of the infant's cranium. Because the present invention is non-conforming to the shape of an abnormal skull, the exerted forces cause accelerated expansion of the skull in less prominent areas coincident with brain and skull growth.

Abstract: A mattress assembly structured for comfortable support of an infant, such as a prematurely born or newborn infant. The mattress assembly includes a base and a compressible material border disposed on the base in at least partially retaining and surrounding relation to a cushioning assembly. The cushioning assembly comprises a plurality of compartments containing a viscous material, such as silicone, collectively underlying and disposed in alignment with the placement area. A smoothing section is disposed and structured to prevent excessive sinking of the infant into the plurality of compartments. Damage to the infant's skin is prevented or reduced by the provision of a particulate section comprising a casing at least partially filled with a plurality of silicone microbeads, and a contact section formed of shear resistant material collectively defining outer portions of the mattress assembly and extending throughout the placement area on which the infant is intended to be disposed.

Abstract: A pediatric surgical table configured to allow easy and quick positioning of an infant prior to craniofacial surgery which includes a head cradle with cheek supports, a chest ramp and a body support pad. The body support pad is provided with an abdominal trough to facilitate unhindered abdominal movement during breathing and a genital trough to allow placement of a urinary catheter. The chest ramp stabilizes the infant once positioned and decreases the risk of hyperextension of the neck. The cheek supports reduce the risk of ocular compression and a open chin rest area allows unrestricted placement of endotracheal tube. Straps are provided to secure the infant in place. The orientation of the chest ramp and head cradle allows for substantial adjustment of cervical extension and provides the surgeon with clear and unobstructed access to the frontal, parietal and occipital portion of the infant's skull.

Abstract: A cover adapted to calm and comfort an infant. The cover has two panels layered on top of each other. The first panel is disposed at a substantially central position on a second panel. An outer thinner layer is defined around the periphery of the first panel and is a breathable material thin enough to provide ample ventilation to the wearer of the cover. The cover may include a fastener for attaching the cover to an object.

Abstract: A infant positioning kit assembly for positioning an infant in a supine position while in a crib includes a mattress cover that has a top wall, a bottom wall and a perimeter wall that is attached to and extends between the top and bottom walls. The bottom wall has a mattress aperture extending therethrough for inserting a mattress into the mattress cover. An elastic band is attached to and is coextensive with a perimeter edge of the aperture and a first mating member is attached to the top wall. An attachment member is configured to be worn by an infant and a second mating member is attached to the attachment member. The second mating member is releasably attachable to the first mating member to retain an infant in a selected position on the mattress cover. The first and second mating members comprise hook and loop couplers.

Abstract: An infant holding device, including an infant holding portion, including a ductile sheet covered with infant-compatible material and a stand portion, adapted to support the infant holding portion in a vertically diagonal position, so that the infant holding portion thereby has a top and a bottom. In one preferred embodiment the ductile sheet is made of aluminum. In an additional preferred embodiment the infant holding portion is separable from the stand portion.

Abstract: A protective pad for infants and toddlers to lie upon when away from home comprises a large rectangular textile assembly similar in size to a beach towel having a water-resistant bottom surface, a comfortable inner layer of foam rubber, and a top layer of soft fabric. The top layer is held in place via a perimeter zipper which enables removal and laundering thereof. The pad is provided with a raised foam rubber edge to serve as a barrier to dirt and debris. The pad may be folded up compactly and secured using hook-and-loop-type fasteners and transported or attached to a stroller using a pair of carrying handles. The pad also provides an on-board stake-style umbrella to provide shade for an occupying infant or toddler at park or beach settings.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a sleeping restraint for a child that can be used to secure the child to the chest of an adult who is in a substantially horizontal position as well as to methods of using a sleeping restraint. In certain embodiments, the sleeping restraint comprises a chest strap for encircling the chest of an adult, first and second child restraining walls extending from the chest strap, and a restraining strap attached to the first child restraining wall for restraining a child in place on the adult's chest between the walls when the adult is lying on his back.

Abstract: A play yard assembly comprises a frame and a bassinet. The frame includes a frame head, a frame tail, and left and right side portions connected between the frame head and the frame tail to define an accommodating space thereamong. The bassinet has a head end, a tail end, a bed bottom connected between the head end and the tail end. The head end is positionable relative to the frame at a first height position and a second height position higher than the first height position. The bed bottom has a first end portion connected to the tail end, and a second end portion connected to the head end. The second end portion of the bed bottom is higher than that of the first end portion of the bed bottom when the head end is disposed at the second height position.

Abstract: A diaper changing device utilizes a baby supporting member having a supporting surface on which a diaper is to be positioned, naps extend outward from the supporting member and are configured to be foldable over the diaper placed on the supporting surface to maintain the diaper in position on the device. Straps are provided to circumscribe the leg of the user, i.e. the diaper changer, and to maintain the device on the changer's leg. Once the device is secured on the user's leg, the baby is placed on the diaper. The diaper is then wrapped around the baby and secured, all while the baby is positioned upon the device.

Abstract: The present invention is directed toward an infant support including a frame and an infant seat. The frame includes a first frame member pivotally coupled to a second frame member. The footers of the frame member are curved to permit the rocking of the frame on its support surface. The seat includes angled wall portions that define an offset lowest point. With this configuration, a child placed within the seat is safely positioned within the seat such that the child experiences a front-to-back rocking motion. An attachment member, such as a canopy or a mobile arm, may be attached to the frame.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to the field of juvenile products, specifically infant support or nursing pillows, the intent of which is to support an infant in a variety of settings by providing a stable surface upon which to rest. Various embodiments include a generally crescent shaped device, comprised of a resilient fill material surrounded by a fabric shell and having a top and a bottom surface connected by a band of uniform width extending vertically and wholly about the perimeter of the pillow. The top and bottom surfaces are distinctly different in dimension, resulting in the pillow having an asymmetrical cross section, with one side having generally more loft and the other being substantially flat along a plane perpendicular to the perimeter band. A medial region between two extending arms forms a well, for the purpose of receiving a human torso or small child.

Fasteners are provided along each side of the base member for engagement with each other to configure the system for wear on an arm of a user or for attachment to an infant carrier. Toys can be selectively engaged with the holes on the base member, and held on the base member, to distract the infant during a use of the system.

Abstract: A support pillow includes a pillow body having a medial region and two curved arms that extend from the medial region. The pillow body has a curved exterior periphery and an interior periphery that defines a well when the pillow is in an open position. A first flap portion extends from the exterior periphery of a first one of the curved arms and a second flap portion extends from the exterior periphery of a second one of the curved arms. A fastening mechanism is configured to couple the first and the second flap portions to each other when the pillow body is folded in half to place the pillow in a closed position, with the first and the second arms being generally adjacent to each other.

Abstract: The stroller with fold out changing table that is installed onto an existing baby stroller or is integrated into the design of the baby stroller. The fold out changing table extends horizontally atop the baby seat of the stroller to provide a horizontal surface that is at least waist-high for an adult to easily change a baby's diaper. The fold out changing table can fold down to a retracted state when not in use. The fold out changing table features a security belt to secure an infant thereon as well as telescoping legs that stabilize an end of the fold out changing table atop the baby seat.

Abstract: A pillow for supporting a baby at play. The pillow comprises a compressible, shape-sustaining, endless bolster having a center opening sized to receive the baby in a sitting position. Preferably, the bolster is toroidal in shape. The pillow includes a removable, washable cover with a center panel that spans the bottom of the center opening forming a seating area for the baby. The bottom of the cover has an elastic border that it grips the bottom of the bolster. In this way, downward tension on the center panel of the cover pulls the bolster portion of the cover inwardly, restraining the pillow around the baby.

Abstract: Systems and methods enable attaching toys or other items to child care equipment such as a play gyms, swings, bouncers, changing pads, and the like. Attachment is accomplished by passing a compressible portion of the item to be attached through an opening in the child care equipment. The opening may be provided by a hole in the equipment, or by a hole in a clip engaged with a rod embedded in or attached to the equipment. The clip may slide along the rod to adjust the position of the item. In one application, rods embedded in a play gym provide a structural support for a canopy of the play gym, and also may receive clips for attaching toys or other items to the play gym.

Abstract: A baby carrier with an adjustable back plate comprises a main body, a back plate, a belt and a belt adjustment mechanism. The main body has a bottom wall, two long side walls and two short side walls. The back plate is pivoted on the bottom wall for support baby-occupant in a selected inclination. The belt has a distal end affixed to one side of the main body and an adjustable length for passing across underneath the back plate for retaining the back plate in the selected inclination angle. The belt adjustment mechanism is mounted on the opposite side of the main body for adjusting the adjustable length of the belt by pulling the free end thereof and pressing the back plate downwardly just under the instinct of the care-giver.

Abstract: A pillow assembly with multiple configurations. The pillow assembly comprises a first elongate bolster pillow and a second pillow that is either a short cylindrical pillow or a wedge-shaped pillow. The two pillows are connected by an elastic panel, and the bolster pillow can be rolled up inside the elastic panel and snugged up to the side or end of the second pillow in a stowed position.

Abstract: A feeding pillow is constructed of a pillow body that is generally defined by a medial region and two opposing arms. Abstract: A changer assembly and a playard are disclosed. The changer assembly is adapted for installation on a skeleton of a playard and includes an attachment base and a changer frame. The attachment base includes a mount structure attached to the skeleton and a guiding structure connected to the mount structure and outwardly extended with respect to a circumferential side of the skeleton. The changer frame is rotatably and slidably connected to the guiding structure and detachably engaging with an upper side of the skeleton for being capable of moving from a first position above the upper side to a second position beside the circumferential side by disengaging from the upper side and rotating on and sliding along the guiding structure. Thereby, the playard equipped with the changer assembly needs no additional space outside the playard for storing the changer frame.

A bottom pad has a top surface, a bottom surface and a peripheral edge. The bottom surface is attached to and covers a portion of the bottom side. A portion of the bottom pad is unattached to the mat adjacent to the peripheral edge to define a bag pocket extending between the mat and the bottom pad. The bag is removable from the pocket after the soiled diaper is changed to receive the mat. The bag is configured to receive the soiled diaper for disposal of the mat and the soiled diaper.

Abstract: An easy-access over-the-bed bassinet especially useful in hospitals for new mothers and babies. The bassinet has a barrier to prevent the infant from rolling off a sleeping platform, and one portion or wall of the barrier is convertible to permit a mother to reach in and cradle the infant, for breast-feeding for example. The convertible portion has a restoring mechanism such as a spring force or weighted arm to transform it back to its original barrier position upon removal of the weight of the mother's arms. The convertible portion may be a wall surrounding the sleeping platform that translates vertically into a frame, or pivot about a bottom edge, or pivot underneath the sleeping platform. The entire sleeping platform may tilt about a horizontal axis, and may rotate about a vertical axis for ease of positioning relative to the mother.

Abstract: An infant play gym including a mat, a first arched structure extending over the mat, a second arched structure extending over the mat, and a motion module. The motion module includes a housing couplable to both the first arched structure and the second arched structure, a power source, and a motor positioned within the housing and powered by the power source, the motor operable to cause the first and second arched structures to move with respect to one another.

Abstract: Disclosed is an infant lap support comprising an infant support panel having a first edge and a second edge, a leg attachment member having two or more attachment points, wherein a first attachment point is attached to the first edge of the infant support panel and wherein a second attachment point is attached to a first fastener, and a second fastener attached to a second edge of the infant support panel, wherein the first fastener and the second fastener are configured to be selectively fastened to each other around the legs of a user.

Abstract: A portable infant seat that rests between opposing sides of a shopping cart includes a sling made of flexible material and shaped to cradle an infant or an infant car seat. The ends of the sling cover a top rail portion of the shopping cart and stiffening means prevent the sling from folding over on itself when in use. The sling also includes attachment means that easily and releaseably secure the sling to the top rail the cart without any need for adjustment. The attachment means may be a J-style hook extending the entire length of each end. A safety strap may be provided at each end of the sling to provide a redundant or secondary level of safety should one or both of the attachment means fail.

In this way, the position of the panel can be adjusted along the length of the insert. Additionally, by rotating the side members, or the sleeves on the side members, the tension on the panel can be adjusted to increase or decease the tension, as desired, to create a swaddling effect under the infant. Alternately, the insert serves as an infant swing or carrier.

Abstract: A nursing pillow system for providing support to one or more children during breastfeeding or bottle feeding. The system preferably includes a cover-up which provides privacy during feeding. The cover-up may be removably attached and stored in an integrated pocket in the nursing pillow system. Any combination of unit members may be connected to the main body member.

The pillow cover has a longitudinal base portion with a first end region, a middle region, and a second end region. At least one middle arm with a distal end extends transversely from the middle region of the longitudinal base portion. A second end arm with a distal end extends transversely from the second end region of the longitudinal base portion. The first end arm, the longitudinal base portion, and the middle arm define a first opening configured to hold a first infant. The middle arm, the longitudinal base portion, and the second end arm define a second opening configured to hold a second infant.

Abstract: A reversible changing table installed on a crib frame of a crib includes a bracket and a pivoting mechanism. The pivoting mechanism is disposed on at least one corner of the bracket and has a locking mechanism. The bracket is installed on the crib frame through the pivoting mechanism such that the bracket is capable of being rotated with respect to the crib frame, and the locking mechanism is used for preventing the bracket from being rotated with respect to the crib frame.

Abstract: A combination quilt and article retention means for transporting and storing loose items attached thereon, particularly suited for providing a baby blanket and retention device for baby toys and similar articles. The quilt comprises a plurality of square patches upon which are provided retention straps for securing baby articles thereto. A pocket is provided for larger items or for those items not suitable for strap retention. The quilt is collapsible into a folded state, wherein a transportable structure is provided that is of reduced surface area, while the retained articles are secured within the interior of the blanket. The size of the quilt is suited for fitment into a standard sized baby crib, while the straps and pouch provide a means to secure various items while traveling with a baby outside of the home.
