  • Patent number: 7464514
Abstract: The present invention discloses a connector for easily connecting tubular muntin bars. This connector can be slipped into an opening of one muntin bar so that both ends will be anchored in the interior of that muntin bar. Then, by moving in one direction, the lever can be slipped into the interior of another muntin bar, and, by moving in an opposite direction the protrusion can be slipped into the interior of the other muntin bar. With the connector such placed, slight pressure on the muntin bars will lock the lever, so that the connector firmly connects the muntin bars.

  • Patent number: 7137227
Abstract: A structural brace apparatus and method provides support between a primary building component and a secondary building component, the primary building component having X and Y axis deflections relative to the secondary building component. The brace includes a first support arm having a longitudinal axis, the first arm extending from and adapted to be secured to the primary building component, the first arm longitudinal axis being positioned at an intermediate angle between the primary building component X and Y axis deflections. The brace also includes a second support arm extending from and adapted to be secured to the secondary building component, the second arm has a slidable engagement with the first arm for reciprocative movement substantially parallel to the first arm longitudinal axis, wherein the brace is operative to reduce transmission of the X and Y axis deflections from the primary building component to the secondary building component.

  • Patent number: 7073298
Abstract: A solid shear panel for supporting a structure having an upper edge, a lower edge and two side edges. The upper edge is secured to a horizontal double plate mounted beneath a beam underneath a floor surface of a structure, while the lower edge rests on a sill plate above ground level. The shear panel contains a plurality of vertically extending support posts having the same length. Sawn lumber, laminated wood, engineered wood, a metal such as steel or another suitable construction material can be utilized to form the support posts. Two steel plates press against the side edges of the shear panel and thereby compact the support posts together into a solid grouping of posts. A plurality of horizontally extending connecting bolts hold the posts together near the upper and lower edges of the shear panel.
