With Cover-adjunct Application Or Formation Patents (Class 53/128.1)
  • Patent number: 6301860
Abstract: A product sampler package for insertion or binding into a periodical, catalog, brochure, or other literature includes a composite carrier card formed by affixing a planar support frame to a bottom carrier sheet of the carrier card to thereby form a shallow well, and a top carrier sheet of the composite carrier card affixed to the bottom carrier sheet and covering the support frame. The top carrier sheet may have an opening positioned over the well so as to be surrounded by the support frame. The package is completed by affixing a product sampler unit containing a sample of a fluid or volatile personal care product on top of the composite carrier card. Packaged in this manner, the support frame enhances the burst strength of the sampler unit by absorbing compressive forces exerted across the plane of the sampler.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing packaging bags having lateral bellows, the method being characterized by the fact that it comprises the steps consisting in: forming respective cutouts (150, 160) in each of the two lateral, bellows-forming zones of a packaging bag sheet (100) so that the bag has only two thicknesses superposed at the mouth of said bellows, at least over a portion of its width; and heat-sealing (184, 186) the adjacent edges of the sheet to the peripheries of the cutouts (150, 160) to close the bag. The invention also provides apparatus for implementing the method and bags obtained thereby.

  • Patent number: 6282865
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for applying drinking straws on prefabricated packaging containers. The apparatus includes a rotary drive means for advancing drinking straws which are guided in towards the drive means wrapped in protective envelopes, and continuously disposed as drinking straw belts. The apparatus also includes guides for drinking straws belts and drinking straws, and a device for separating drinking straws from the belt, and a device for applying the drinking straw on the side wall of the packaging container. The drive means of the apparatus routes continuously, and the device for separating drinking straws from the belt is disposed to accompany a part distance of the rotation of the drive means, this movement being realised by means of a cam and a cam roller cooperating therewith. The apparatus further includes a continuously driven conveyor on which the packaging containers are advanced so that one passes the drive means.

  • Patent number: 6216419
Abstract: In a parts storing tape, a first stepped part which has the predetermined height and is more extended than the other inner side faces of a recessed part in the width direction and the longitudinal direction of the above parts storing tape is provided at each corner part of the recessed part. Thereby, even if the corner part of a storing part is more projecting outside than the other peripheral part, the above storing part can be supported without that its corner parts contact or stick in the inner side faces of the parts storing tape by each of the first stepped parts. At the same time, in a tape-shaped parts package, a tape-shaped cover and a parts packaging apparatus, projecting parts which have resilience and are elastic in the direction of thickness of the above tape-shaped cover are provided or can be provided respectively corresponding to each recessed part of the parts storing tape on the surface opposite to the parts storing tape of the tape-shaped cover.
