Abstract: Monitoring current draw of an actuator associated with a rotating arm on a round baler during a net wrapping cycle is used to determine the position of the rotating arm and actuator, as well as to determine the net tension. The current draw of the actuator may be correlated with the home and insert positions of the rotating arm during the net wrapping cycle; thus by monitoring the current draw, the rotating arm and actuator position is determined and may be provided to aid an operator. The net tension during the net wrapping cycle is a function of the rotating arm and actuator current. A calculation of net tension is determined and provided to an operator, allowing the operator to verify performance issues related to the net tension.

As to the apparatus, it includes a wrap bar for engaging and directing a wrapper about the product, a wrap bar carrier from which the wrap bar extends, and a drive assembly operatively linked to the wrap bar carrier. The carrier block, which translatingly retains the carrier intermediate opposing end portions thereof, is adapted for driven rotation about a wrapping axis of the apparatus so as to thereby rotatingly drive the bar about the axis via rotation of the carrier. The drive assembly, which is operatively linked to the carrier, selectively translates the carrier in relation to the carrier block during driven rotation of the carrier such that a radial distance for the bar from the axis is thereby capable of selective establishment in furtherance of delimiting a wrap bar travel path commensurate with the product profile of the product.

Abstract: A wrapping machine has a transfer and accumulation device including an accumulator element on which a part of the sleeve is wound, and a mechanism for performing spreading of the open end of the sleeve after transfer to the covering station. According to the invention, a programmable control device determines the position and/or the inclination angle of the feed axis of the load by synchronizing the positioning control of the transfer device with position data of the load. This results in positioning of the transfer device according to the spatial position of the load to be packaged.

Abstract: An artificial floral arrangement and method for its production are described. A liner is inserted into a mold container having a continuous inner side wall with a lower edge and a bottom wall. A wrap, such as one or more artificial leaves or other plant components, is wrapped around the container inner side wall, and secured in place by placing an adhesive moldable binder into the container at the interface of the wrap and bottom wall. A floral support, which may be of the same composition as the binder, is placed inside the container, and floral material is inserted into the support. The stand-alone floral arrangement made up of the wrap, binder ring, floral support and floral material, is then removed from the container and the liner stripped away. The floral arrangement can be displayed without a container, reinserted into the mold container, or placed in a different container.
