  • Patent number: 9963272
Abstract: A flat-bottomed bag is formed from a flexible sheet that initially is flat prior to being manipulated to form the bag. The sheet is a laminate of a first web and a second web laminated together by an adhesive layer disposed between the webs. The sheet defines a plurality of serially connected side wall panels collectively defining a vertically extending side wall of the bag, and a plurality of bottom panels respectively connected to the side wall panels at respective fold lines. The bottom panels are folded about the fold lines and are attached together to form a flat bottom wall configured to support the bag in an upright orientation. The adhesive layer is in a partial-coverage pattern that includes adhesive-free regions located along each fold line between each bottom panel and the respective side wall panel connected therewith.

  • Patent number: 8986411
Abstract: A modular design for large pulse jet fabric filters (PJFF) is divided into similar compartments, which are each “shop-fabricated” in quarter sections prior to delivery to the power plant site. The quarter sections of the compartments are modular and sized so that they can be fabricated at a shop located away from the power plant site and transported by truck over public roads to the power plant site. Once delivered to the site, the quarter sections are bolted together and seal welded to form a PJFF compartment, without requiring additional internal fabrication or welding. The assembled compartment is then lifted onto the support structure as an assembled unit and bolted and/or welded in place. The additional components of the PJFF may also be shop-fabricated offsite to further the benefits of the modular design.

  • Patent number: 7641708
Abstract: An air filter assembly for removing particulate matter from an incoming dirty air stream. The assembly includes a housing having an inlet, an outlet, a dirty air chamber and a clean air chamber and a non-cylindrical shaped elongated filter element arranged within the dirty air chamber constructed to remove particulate matter from an incoming air stream. A plurality of non-cylindrical filter elements are preferred. The non-cylindrical filter elements provide a decreased incoming air stream velocity when compared to conventional cylindrical filter elements having the same surface area. Alternately, the non-cylindrical filter elements allow an increase in the volume of incoming air when compared to conventional cylindrical filter elements having the same surface area.

  • Patent number: 7611559
Abstract: A filter element (1) with a tubular folded bag (2) of folded filter material, which has a plurality of fold blades (3) adjacent each other in the longitudinal direction (10) of the folded bag (2) a closure cover (4) is attached at at least one axial end (7) of the folded bag (2). In order to provide a filter element which can be bent to any desired curved form while maintaining a high degree of filtration performance, and can be produced in a cost effective manner, the fold blades (3) of a folded bag (2) are provided with a combination of diagonal folds extending at an angle relative to each other such that the fold blades (3) in the longitudinal direction (10) of the folded bag extend back and forth and thereby form a three-dimensional crown structure (18). At least the outer margin of the closure cover (4) has a form corresponding to the crown structure (18) of the fold blades (3).

  • Patent number: 7611554
Abstract: The collector bag is provided that includes a fabric formed to define an internal volume, a plurality of sewn loops for disposal about an outer periphery of the collector frame, and a gather of fabric at each of the plurality of sewn loops for disposal about an inner circumference of the collector frame. The plurality of sewn loops are secured to the gather so that the internal volume of the collector bag, when disposed on the collector frame, is at least about 90 percent of a maximum volume of the collector frame.

  • Patent number: 7527674
Abstract: An inlet air treatment system for a gas turbine includes, in an exemplary embodiment, an air plenum, and a moisture removal system, and an air filtration system located downstream from the moisture removal system. The moisture removal system includes a plurality of S-shaped vanes, and a mesh structure downstream from the plurality of S-shaped vanes. The air filtration system includes a plurality of filter elements, with each filter element including a support structure. The inlet air filtration system also includes a plurality of electrodes positioned proximate the plurality of filter elements, where the electrodes are coupled to a power source which supplies a voltage to the electrodes. The voltage is sufficient to establish an electrostatic field between the electrodes and the filter elements, and at the same time, the voltage is sufficient to produce a corona discharge from the electrodes.
