  • Patent number: 11013169
Abstract: An apparatus for processing agricultural product having a main frame, a support for the main frame configured so that the main frame can be advanced in an operating direction over an area in which agricultural product is grown, and an operating system on the main frame configured to advance unearthed agricultural product intermixed with debris in a conveying direction in a conveying path between an input location and a first point of use. A first processing assembly a) advances unearthed agricultural product intermixed with debris in the conveying direction towards the first point of use; and b) allows intermixed debris to separate from the agricultural product as it is advanced in the conveying direction. A plurality of processing assemblies downstream of the first processing assembly separate intermixed debris in the form of vines from the agricultural product in different manners as the agricultural product is advanced in the conveying direction.

A primary control station is mounted on the turntable body along with a main boom with a vegetation cutting head attached and a second elevating boom with a secondary control station suspended therefrom. Operators man each of the control stations, and the main boom and elevating boom are hydraulically controlled from either of the control stations as the operators cut vegetation from about railway tressels or roadway overpasses while communicating via a two-way intercom system between the control stations. When cutting below the line of sight of the operator in the primary control station, the cutting head is controlled by the secondary control station operator or is lowered by the elevating boom to a level giving a clear view of the vegetation being cut.

  • Patent number: 6038841
Abstract: An arrangement is provided for leveling the blade housing of a mower. The housing is suspended from the underside of a vehicle frame by a pair of suspension arms pivotally connected to the housing and the frame. A pair of brackets are joined to opposite sides of the housing, and a third bracket is joined to an end of the housing. An operator-controlled lift handle is connected to a rod pivotally connected to the frame. Three lift arms are joined to the rod so as to be displaced when the lift handle is actuated. First and second cables extend between respective ones of the pair of brackets, and a third cable extends between the third lift arm and the third bracket. The cables are selectively locked to their respective brackets. When the lift handle is activated to lower the housing to its maximum extent, unlocking of the cable permits the entire housing to settle on the ground.

Abstract: A mounting for a rotary broom on a skid steer loader has a bracket that is attached to a frame plate that mounts on the front attachment plate of the skid steer loader. The front attachment plate can be tilted about a horizontal axis through the use of a tilt cylinder on the skid steer loader. The bracket is in turn pivotally mounted about a horizontal axis adjacent the top of the frame plate, and the weight of the broom, and the mounting bracket tending to pivot the lower portion of the bracket toward the frame plate is counterbalanced by a pair of compression springs on the lower part of the bracket, which react force or movement loads back to the frame plate. In this way, the counterbalancing springs are kept low, out of sight, and out of the way.

  • Patent number: 5946893
Abstract: A riding lawn mower has wheels which are spring suspended from the chassis and a floating-type cutter deck hangs from the chassis. When a wheel moves upwardly relative to the chassis, as occurs when the wheel goes across a bump or when the chassis leans in a turn, a nearby portion of the cutter deck is lifted upwardly in response. In one embodiment, the drive wheels are independently spring suspended rear wheels and the cutter deck is mounted between the front and rear wheels. On each side of the machine a chain runs from a lifting bracket attached to each rear wheel motor mount and runs down to the rear end of the deck. So, when a wheel moves upwardly the deck is moved upwardly. In another embodiment, the front wheels are the spring suspended drive wheels and the cutter deck is cantilevered from the front end of the machine. The rear end of the cutter deck is lifted upwardly upon upward wheel motion.

Abstract: A riding mower is provided that includes a frame, an engine operatively attached to the frame and providing locomotion to the riding mower, a first front wheel operatively attached to the frame, a first back wheel operatively attached to the frame and a back axle forming a back axle axis. The first front wheel forms a front wheel axis and the first back wheel forms a back wheel axis. The back wheel axis is longitudinally spaced from the front wheel axis by a wheel base distance. The engine is longitudinally spaced forwardly of the back axle axis. In this way, the center of gravity of the riding mower is positioned relatively low and forward as compared to other known riding mowers. The first front wheel provides the front-most surface for the riding mower and the first back wheel provides the back-most surface for the riding mower.
