    Abstract: A texturing machine is described comprising a plurality of processing points for texturing a plurality of multifilament threads. The texturing machine comprises a plurality of delivery mechanisms per processing point and a texturing system for guiding, drawing and texturing one of the threads. A central heating device is associated with the processing points for thermal treatment of a plurality of threads, wherein the texturing systems within the processing points downstream of the heating device each delimit a texturing distance. In order to treat all threads qualitatively the same, according to the invention the texturing systems of the processing points associated with a thread outlet of the heating device are held in a symmetrical arrangement with respect to the heating device such that the threads within the processing points can be guided in texturing distances of the same length.

The island-in-the-sea yarns prepared using the spinneret can prevent aggregation of island portions in the center thereof, although the number of island portions is 500 or more. Accordingly, island-in-the-sea yarns are considerably advantageous for the preparation of microfibers, since 500 or more island portions can be disposed in one island-in-the-sea yarn and fineness of island portions can thus be reduced. In addition, the island-in-the-sea yarns have an advantage of considerably reduced production costs, since 500 or more microfibers can be produced from one island-in-the-sea yarn. Furthermore, the island-in-the-sea yarns render a specific color according to the ratio of sea portions to island portions and diameter of fibers, without adding chromogenic compounds such as dyes, and are thus applicable to photochromic fibers.

    Abstract: Individual differently colored or colorable feed filament ends are withdrawn from respective creel-mounted packages and passed through a separation guide. The separation guide serves to "normalize" the filament end-to-end positions and tensions. That is, the separation guide will cause the individual feed ends to be in specific predetermined positions relative to the other feed ends regardless of the position of the package on the creel. In addition, the separation guide will effectively cause a short length of each feed end to be parallel to, and separated by a substantially uniform distance from, corresponding lengths of the other feed ends. This parallel alignment of individual end lengths and the substantially uniform filament end-to-end positioning thereby imparts substantially uniform tensions on the feed ends while substantially maintaining their respective positions in the combined yarn product relative to one another.

    Abstract: A drawing/false twist texturizing process capable of being implemented during the treatment of the yarn. During the treatment, the point of striction is localized during the drawing phase by bringing about an abrupt break or modification in the trajectory of the yarn while it is rising in temperature in the texturizing zone. This is achieved by pressing on a surface or element allowing the twist imparted by the false-twisting spindle to be taken back as far as the first feed system. The modification in the trajectory of the yarn is achieved in the actual oven either while the yarn is rising in temperature or in the vicinity of the zone where it reaches its optimum treatment temperature.
