Having Antifriction Coating Or Material Patents (Class 57/355)
  • Patent number: 6574949
Abstract: The present invention is related to a pneumatic control ring (1) with application in ring twisting machines, continuous spinning frames, and double twisting frames, made of sintered, porous material and with a chamber (4) in which an air-lubricant mixture is pressure injected, which creates an air cushion between the ring (1) and the thread and produces constant and homogeneous lubrication in the contact area between them, in order to avoid the balloon effect and to prevent the thread from wearing down by friction against a surface which is the balloon control ring, facilitating high speed thread processing.

  • Patent number: 6182434
Abstract: The process is carried out on a spinning system that has a driven spindle (13) and a balloon limiter (14) concentric with it, driven in the same direction as the spindle (13) an provided with an inner work surface (44). For the purpose of reaching the high operating speed, the yarn (P) entrained by the work surface (44) and running toward the tube (23) on the spindle (13) is first always given by the centrifugal process the shape of a rotating, open loop (48), from which the yarn (P) is subsequently drawn off and coiled directly onto the tube (23). In this connection, this rotating, open loop (48) can be radially delimited by a rotating or stationary limit ring (28).

  • Patent number: 5111650
Abstract: An apparatus for refilling a yarn wetting agent into a yarn wetting device of a yarn processing station of a textile machine, in particular a two-for-one twisting spindle, is characterized in that a filling station is either provided in the region of each yarn processing station of the textile machine or adapted to move to the yarn processing station, which is connected via a conduit with a storage tank of the wetting agent.

  • Patent number: 4825636
Abstract: A ballooning control ring for spinning machinery which has an annular body made of sintered material having a groove in which lubricating a lubricating wick is disposed, a cover body covering said groove and a handle fitting body. The lubricating wick in the groove is connected to an automatic oiling device provided below the handle fitting body. This ring prevents oil-soiling of the annular body and consequently prevents production of oil-stained yarn.

  • Patent number: 4555900
Abstract: A ballooning action constraining ring is disclosed, with which at least the surface coming into contact with the thread is composed of a raw material that absorbs at least 15% by volume of lubricant, whereby the absorption of lubricant is concluded at the earliest after 15 minutes. The amount of lubricant absorbed after the 15 minutes should amount to at most 25 volume-%. The average hydrodynamic pore diameter of this raw material is between 5 and 25 .mu.m. A preferred raw material is wood. The constraining ring can display a thread slit, an oil groove or a lubricant canal and can be composed of several superposed individual rings or be formed from pliable wood or shaped into a helix.

  • Patent number: 4397143
Abstract: An anti-ballooning ring confining an orbiting yarn in spinning or twisting machinery has an inner surface divided into a convex lower annular contact zone, hugged by the descending yarn body, and a concave upper annular zone or groove diverging from the path of the yarn so as to be swept only by radially outwardly protruding fiber ends. A wick, dipping into a supply of lubricant remote from the ring, traverses a ring-supporting tube and has an exposed stretch lodged in the groove for engagement by such protruding fiber ends which pick up lubricant therefrom and carry it onto the convex contact zone.

  • Patent number: 4362012
Abstract: In a spinning or twisting machine, a anti-balloon ring stationarily fixed around the bobbin spindle is first sand-blasted so as to produce a predetermined degree of surface roughness, then provided with a nickel coating in order to reduce undesirable excrescences followed by a copper coating in order to reduce friction and loss of yarn resistance while permitting much higher spindle speeds in respect of an acceptable rate of wear.
