With Loose Fibers Patents (Class 57/5)
  • Patent number: 10968544
Abstract: A process for manufacturing air-rich yarn and air-rich fabric is provided. The process of the present invention uses optimized parameters for blending, doubling, drafting and spinning in draw frame, roving frame and ring frame respectively. The process of the present invention provides an air rich yarn comprising a plurality of fibers of a water soluble material interlinked and distributed homogenously across a cross-section of the yarn using the optimized parameters. The plurality of fibers of water soluble material after treatment with water provides an improved air rich yarn comprising a plurality of interlinked through-pores distributed homogenously across the cross-section of the yarn. Further, the present invention provides a process of preparing an air-rich fabric from the air-rich yarn, where the fabric exhibits high wettability, easy dry ability, quick absorbency and increased thickness due to homogenous distribution of the plurality of interlinked through-pores across the cross-section of the yarn.

Abstract: A process is described wherein pile yarn is woven with cotton weft and warp yarns to produce terry fabrics, such as towels. The fabric is then washed in warm water to dissolve the PVA fiber. The amount of fibers dissolved, depends upon the count of the yarn or yarns used. By dissolving the PVA fibers, a hollow air space is produced throughout the pile yarn, corresponding to an increase in the air space in the pile yarn. By increasing the in space in the pile yarn, the resulting towels are softer and bulkier than standard cotton towels. The present invention further relates to pile yarn in terry woven fabric (warp yarn), or weft yarn, in the case of flat fabrics.

  • Patent number: 7913483
Abstract: On each draft element of a ring spinning frame, two pieces of short-staple roving from the roving bobbin enter into the draft mechanism to be drafted though a guide funnel in parallel, two pieces of filament are fed from the back of the front roller, and combine with two pieces of roving at front jaw respectively. The drafted two pieces of roving and filament are output from the front jaw and enter into the twisting triangle area to be twisted, and then are wound onto a yarn bobbin to produce yarn. Based on the relative position of the two pieces of roving and two pieces of filament, different yarns can be produced. Furthermore, multi-component yarn, such as core structure, wrapped structure, strand-like structure, can be produced on a ring spinning frame. The structure of yarn can be precisely determined. Special fiber yarn can be produced on traditional spinning frame.

Adjacent facing surfaces of the sections define a continuous radial slot through which air flow may be directed. The axially aligned sections of the nozzle are, in one exemplary embodiment, telescopically received within a sleeve mounted for rotation within a housing. The nozzle sections may be adjusted axially relative to each other to alter the dimension of the radial slot as desired, for example, in accordance with a predetermined yarn count.

  • Patent number: 4984869
Abstract: A cable comprises strength members twisted along helicoidal lines of mutual contact, an outer coating covering the strength members and providing helicoidal reception spaces, each of which is delimited by the outer coating, two adjacent strength members and their line of contact. The optical fibres extend in the helicoidal spaces and the length of the fibres is greater than that of the lines of contact defining their reception spaces in order to provide an overlength and to allow variations in length in the strength members.

Abstract: The corespun yarn is formed on a friction spinning apparatus and comprises three components, including a core of high temperature resistant fibers, a core wrapper of low temperature resistant fibers surrounding and covering the core, and an outer sheath of low temperature resistant fibers surrounding and covering the core wrapper and the core. The high temperature resistant fibers of the core are selected from the group consisting essentially of aramid fibers (Kevlar and Nomex), and polybenzimidazole fibers (PBI). The low temperature resistant fibers of the core wrapper and the outer sheath are either natural or synthetic fibers, such a cotton and polyester.

  • Patent number: 4928464
Abstract: Vacuum spinning of yarn produces yarns having good properties, and which may have a wide variety of different effects and constructions. A core filament yarn may be fed into operative association with a nipped sliver or roving, and then fed to a perforated rotating hollow shaft operatively connected to the vacuum. The core filament yarn may be a full stretched textured yarn, which is placed under tension and while under tension is dragged over a sharp edge of nonconductive material, and after the tension is relieved develops crimp. This causes individual fibers to be repelled, and provides for intermixing of the nipped sliver or roving fibers and the core filament yarn fibers. Alternatively the filament yarn may be acted upon by draft rollers before the entrance to, and after the exit from, the hollow rotating shaft, to apply a force that breaks up to about 20% of the fibers. The yarns produced utilizing the broken fibers has a spun-like appearance.

  • Patent number: 4860530
Abstract: The present friction spinning apparatus includes a draw frame section with an entrance trumpet including first and second fiber sliver guiding passageways for forming a three component corespun yarn. One of the guiding passageways directs a core roving into the draw frame section while the other sliver guiding passageway directs a core wrapper sliver into the draw frame section so that the core wrapper fibers surround the core fibers. Wrapping fibers are then wound about the core and core wrapper fibers in an elongated throat extending between a pair of rotating suction drums.

  • Patent number: 4845932
Abstract: An air spinning method and apparatus for spinning a yarn. The apparatus includes a pipe with a fiber bundle passageway, air jet nozzles for applying whirling air currents near the inlet of the pipe, and a rotating body including air discharge passages and revolving around the pipe. In the method, the fiber bundle is passed through the pipe's fiber bundle passageway. Rear ends of some fibers are separated from the fiber bundle by air currents jetted from the nozzles so as to be rotated together with air currents by the rotating body after drawn into the discharge passage. Fibers lying in the central portion of the fiber bundle, pass through the pipe's fiber bundle passageway without being influenced by the air currents jetted from the nozzles.

  • Patent number: 4823545
Abstract: A false-twist spinning unit or apparatus comprises a first spinning disc, such as a top spinning disc and a second spinning disc, such as a bottom spinning disc rotating in opposite directions and arranged in staggered or offset relation at an inter-axis distance from one another such that friction rings thereof form a substantially rhomboid-like crossing surface. Disposed outside the friction rings are suction surfaces which engage the fibers of a sliver delivered from a nip line of an exit roll pair of a sliver feeder and convey such fibers to a yarn core line. The suction surfaces have suction apertures and sucked-off air is transported by suction nozzles coacting with the suction apertures. In operation, at the region of the nip line there is produced a false-twisted yarn core forming a spinning triangle.
