With Loose Fibers Patents (Class 57/5)
  • Patent number: 4112658
Abstract: This invention relates to a spun yarn spinning machine of the air injection type, which has first and second yarn twisting devices disposed between front rollers and delivery rollers. These first and second yarn twisting devices have air injection nozzles for injecting air obliquely fed toward the delivery roller side. These air injection nozzles of the first and second yarn twisting devices open into the cylindrical yarn passages of the yarn twisting devices so that the twisting directions of the yarns are in counter direction with each other tangentially of the passages at a predetermined angle with respect to the central axis of the passages of the first and second yarn twisting devices. The first yarn twisting device also has an untwisting device associated therewith for loosening the fibers before the fibers once twisted by the injected air in the first yarn twisting are fed into the second yarn twisting device.

  • Patent number: 4107909
Abstract: A composite yarn is spun in a tapering gap between two suction drums which define suction zones adjoining the gap and facing each other. A yarn core is supplied to the gap between the facing suction zones from a bobbin at one end of the gap and flying fibers are supplied into the gap between the facing suction zones. Yarn drawoff rolls at the opposite end of the gap withdraw spun yarn while holding it against rotation, the flying fibers being twisted and wound around the yarn core in the gap between the facing suction zones to be spun into the composite yarn when the drums are rotated in the same sense.

  • Patent number: 4083173
Abstract: A core thread is combined with staple fiber in a spinning rotor by feeding the core thread to form a loop in the fiber collection surface while feeding and withdrawing the core thread in a manner to maintain it substantially linear, and the stable fiber is spun into an outer yarn shroud twisted about the axis of the core thread. The core thread feed tube is located at one side of and spaced from a diametral plane through the fiber collection surface, and the fiber feed tube is located at the opposite side of and spaced from such plane through the fiber collection surface. A loop is formed in the core thread by delaying startup of drawoff rollers for a predetermined interval after startup of core thread supply rollers, and the loop is laid on the circumference of the fiber collection surface by rotation of the spinning rotor.

  • Patent number: 4056924
Abstract: Method and apparatus for manufacturing yarn. The yarn has a flexible core at least part of which is twisted in a given direction while surface fibers are carried by the core at least at the twisted part thereof and are helically wound onto the exterior surface of the core in a direction opposite from the direction of twist thereof where the surface fibers are located. The yarn core initially has the fibers projecting laterally therefrom, and then the yarn core is false twisted while the fibers are helically wound into engagement with the exterior surface of the core when the initial twist is introduced into the same during false twisting with the helical winding of the fibers being in a direction opposite to the direction of the twist introduced into the core by false twisting thereof.

  • Patent number: 4028871
Abstract: A process and apparatus for producing spun yarn using an electrostatic field produced by a pair of spaced electrodes, one of which surrounds the other to isolate the electrostatic field therebetween from external physical and electrical disturbances. Staple fibers are fed into the field through an aperture in the surrounding electrode for migration in the electrostatic field to a linear zone of increased field intensity from which the fibers are withdrawn and twisted to form a spun yarn, which may be done without the use of a core yarn or with a core yarn drawn through the linear zone and subjected to a false twisting operation to collect and twist the fibers thereon. Beyond the linear zone is another zone of increased field intensity for electrostatic collection of fly and other waste material. Suction is applied to remove the fly and other waste material from the electrostatic field and also serves to draw the feeding fibers through the aperture into the electrostatic field.
