  • Patent number: 7802418
Abstract: A method and apparatus for production of a yarn, by plying, twisting or covering several basic yarns, subjected to a prior transformation, is provided. At least one of the basic yarns is different from the others and/or is subjected to a different prior transformation. The prior transformation may be carried out in parallel in the same machine, by independent transformation members able to be independently controlled. A slackening of yarn tension resulting from the prior transformation to give the desired tension at an assembly point is carried out on yarn feeding devices. Routing of the yarns is achieved by guide members towards the point of assembly, where the staple yarns are combined and arranged in parallel. A bobbin receives the assembled yarns in a device, constituting or associated with a positive feed device operating without slippage with relation to the yarn.

  • Patent number: 6718748
Abstract: A method of covering a core yam with a cover yarn characterised in that it includes supplying a package of core yam on a member which is fixed against rotation, supplying a package of cover yam, guiding the cover yarn to form a loop which on rotation about an axis defines an envelope which surrounds the core yarn package, drawing off core yarn along the axis of rotation of the envelope in the direction away from the cover package so that when the core yarn intercepts the envelope it is covered by cover yarn.

  • Patent number: 6295798
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a steel cord. A method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: combining a plurality of the steel filaments supplied from the bobbin by means of the guide rollers; applying a twist pattern to the combined filaments by rotating a pair of flyers arranged between a pair of turn rollers in the counterclockwise direction, and advancing them; applying a further twist pattern to the advanced cord by rotating another pair of flyers arranged between another pair of turn rollers in the reverse direction; stabilizing the cord by means of the overtwist; and winding the resulted cord. The method and apparatus for manufacturing the steel cord have effects that productivity can be improved up to two times or six times even with the same revolution, as compared with the manufacturing apparatus of the prior art.
