Abstract: A wrist watch band comprises a plurality of metallic band links connected by a continuous flexible connecting member in a non-expansile condition. The links are made of pairs of upper and lower strips fixed to each other on respective opposed surfaces thereof. The watch band can be varied in appearance by changing the shapes of the respective upper strips. A method of manufacturing the watch band comprises a sequence of steps which includes forming a series of respective upper and lower strips, fixing the respective upper and lower strips to each other, inserting a flexible connecting member into a series of aligned openings formed and defined between the upper and lower strips and cutting the links and connecting member into designated band shapes. Thus, the method permits watch bands to be manufactured efficiently and at reduced cost.
Abstract: A non-expansible linkage bracelet and method of manufacture thereof, wherein the bracelet includes: a set of laterally adjacent top links having channel-shaped sections with parallel side members joined by top members, one side member of each top link having at least one bendable locking lug protruding therefrom; and a set of laterally adjacent bottom links having channel-shaped sections inverted relative to the channel-shaped sections of the top links, the channel-shaped sections of the bottom links having parallel side members joined by bottom members with apertures therein. The side members of adjacent links of one set are arranged in a confronting relationship between the side members of individual links of the other set, with the locking lugs of the top links being received in the apertures in the bottom members of the bottom links.
Abstract: A bracelet linkage comprising a plurality of link assemblies each of which includes a thin outer shell having a central opening and a pair of bendable tab means extending downwardly from the central portions of the ends of its outer wall. Each link assembly also includes an inner member having a central opening of substantially the same size as the central opening of the outer shell. Each end member of each inner member includes first groove means which extends inwardly from its central portion and second groove means which extends inwardly from the bottom wall of the first groove means and then from the first groove means towards the adjacent portion of the central opening of the inner member for receiving the bendable tab means so that the outer shell is secured to the inner member by the tab means and end portions of the tab means are positioned at least in the second groove means.
Abstract: A bracelet linkage comprising a plurality of link assemblies each of which includes an outer frame member having a central opening and a pair of downwardly extending tab means, an insert the outer wall of which is receivable within at least the major portion of the central opening and an inner member having slots adjacent to the ends of the bottom wall with the tab means of the frame member bent into the slots and a series of connector links connecting a plurality of link assemblies together in end-to-end relationship, these connector links also extending through the slots and about the ends of the tab means.
Abstract: A chain link bracelet of the cross-weave or polynese type is lengthened or shortened by adding or removing a chain link assembly which consists of a pair of flattened helices which are coupled permanently in mesh by a captive hinge pin. The assembly is coupled to the bracelet by means of a releasable headed pin which passes through the intercalating convolutions of the link assembly and the bracelet.
Abstract: A metal strap for wrist watches and the like formed of links each consisting of a box-like link frame having four sides over-turned towards the underside of the strap and a base closing the link frame. One side of each link frame has a rectangular aperture forming a cross pin along the free edge of said one side. The opposite side of the link frame forms a hook engaging the aperture of an adjacent link frame, the link frames being held together by link bases inserted therein, the link bases having bosses and notches corresponding to the hooks and apertures of the link frames.
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a jointed link band comprising a plurality of links, each link including a pair of arms, a first of said arms having a pair of projections projecting transversely to the longitudinal axis of said band. A second of said arms having recesses therein receiving said projections. A retaining member is provided for preventing the disassembly of adjoining links by motion of any two links transverse to the longitudinal axis of the band.
Abstract: A link chain for jewelry and other applications, the chain being composed of links having cross-sectionally enlarged longitudinal leg portions, thereby concealing the eyes of adjoining links and producing the appearance of a "full" chain. The cross-sectional profile of the leg portions may be such that the resultant chain has the overall shape of a cylinder, an octagonal prism, or a square prism, for example.
Abstract: In a hinged bracelet formed of a plurality of links arranged in several juxtapositioned, longitudinally extending rows, each link is formed of two link parts bonded to one another along a parting plane. Each link has two throughgoing bores extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the bracelet and spaced from one another in the longitudinal direction. Each bore is formed by a longitudinally open groove provided in at least one of the link parts. The groove faces with its longitudinal opening, the other link part. Each bore accommodates a hinge pin extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the bracelet.
