  • Patent number: 7007507
Abstract: This invention is a necklace or bracelet with provisions to prevent the bunching of baubles, bangles and beads which are strung on the necklace or bracelet. Bunching is prevented by keepers which are removably attached to bands fixed at intervals on the strands of the necklaces or bracelets. Two types of keepers are disclosed, one of which has internal threads which interact with a threaded bands, and one which uses a clamshell structure to secure the keeper on a band. The keepers may have a variety of shapes for decorative effects, such as cylindrical, spherical, cubical, or pyramid-shaped.

Abstract: A jewelry-forming component composing a body member having a first magnetized portion and a female element associated therewith for magnetically attracting and receiving a male element of another jewelry-forming component. The first magnetized portion of the body member provides a minimum magnetic strength that is sufficient to retain the male element within the female element and a maximum magnetic strength that can be overcome by a person's hand strength to separate the male and female elements. The female element defines a cavity having a depth sufficient to receive the male element at different positions therein, and this allows relative movement of the male and female elements to assist in providing the self-sizing nature of the article. The body member also includes a further element that is magnetically responsive for magnetically coupling with another jewelry-forming component, such that a plurality of such components can be magnetically coupled to form an article of jewelry.

Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, a ring providing for an exchangeable decorative ornament includes two nearly annular shanks, a base where opposing sides correspond to the shank gaps, two hinge pins, and a gem setting with opposing male plug. Each shank has a throughhole intersecting the faces of its annulus at the gap. The base has two corresponding parallel throughholes for hinge pins to attach the shank to the base, and a gem setting receiving hole skewed midpoint to these throughholes. The holes are situated such that the diameter of the gem setting receiving hole partly intersects the diameter of each pinhole, and each pin has a scalloped recess through that side of its diameter corresponding to the interference pattern of the intersection. Each pin pivots within the base but is made integral with its corresponding shank. Hence, depending upon the rotation of the shanks, either or both pins may present an interference pattern to the diameter of the gem setting receiving hole.

Abstract: Process for making jewels such as necklaces, bracelets or the like with different colors on at least two of their faces in sight so that a user can choose to put on the necklace or jewel so as to show one face or the other of the jewel according to the wished color, for instance the user can show a white gold face or a yellow gold face. In general, the process in question consists of a first phase in which noble metal bands (3, 4) showing different colors are put near each other. Then, the bands (3, 4) are coupled by welding (6) and are subjected to a second working phase in which they are bent and welded longitudinally so as to obtain a pipe (19) showing a multiple color. From this pipe (19) it is possible to obtain hollow links to be then mounted and fixed on a flexible core.
