  • Patent number: 10076900
Abstract: The present invention relates to a peeling bar, apparatus, and method for peeling a polarizing film from a panel. This invention can minimize friction between the peeling bar and the polarizing film since the peeled polarizing film is in contact with a roller of the peeling bar. The radius of the roller of the peeling bar and the inclined surface of the fixing unit are designed to minimize the Z-axis component of a shearing force applied to the polarizing film. Also, in order to equalize tension applied to the polarizing film in a peeling process, this invention makes both ends of the polarizing film closely adhere to the peeling bar. According to this invention, fracture of the polarizing film is prevented, and thereby the polarizing film can be stably peeled from the panel without fracture.

  • Patent number: 6553886
Abstract: A hide splitting machine according to the invention has two pivot arms, mounted on modified journals at each end of a rubber roller, that are connected to two ring roller swivel arms attached to each end of the ring roller. The ring roller swivel arms connected to the pivot arms allow constant radial distance movement of the ring roller along the circumference of the rubber roller. Therefore, the ring roller can be retracted or moved away automatically, without possibility of mechanical damage, from the razor sharp band knife and ring jaw insert edge. The automatic retraction of the ring roller a preset distance allows splitting machine operators to easily access the ring jaw insert for safe, quick and efficient manual cleaning of the ring jaw insert edge. The automatic retraction of the ring roller further eliminates physical handling and/or manual removal of the ring roller from the splitting machine during the ring jaw insert edge cleaning process.

  • Patent number: 4713950
Abstract: A device to move the sharpening grinding wheels in a leather splitting machine close to and away from a cutting blade. The grinding wheels are rotatably supported on the end portions of respective arms the other ends of which are pivoted on a carriage. The carriage, slidably movable on guiding rods, through an actuator, moves the grinding wheels from a position in which the latter are engaged on the bevel of the cutting blade to a position in which they are not in contact with the blade. In order to bring the grinding wheels back to the operative position on the cutting blade bevel, spring means is provided between the carriage and a bar rigidly connected to the splitting machine.

  • Patent number: 4567739
Abstract: Platform for introducing sheet materials, particularly in leather splitting machines and the like, consisting of a plate suitable to slide in a reciprocating manner on a fixed level disposed at the top of a bearing structure. Balls are interposed between said plate and the fixed level for the purpose of assisting the sliding of the plate itself which is also provided with a guide block that engages into a rectilinear guide obtained on said fixed level, two rows of balls being interposed therebetween. In addition, said plate is provided with means causing the automatic return of the same to its starting position.

  • Patent number: 4441396
Abstract: An apparatus utilizing an endless blade for splitting hides, textile products and the like. A fixed assembly carries upper and lower cylinders or rollers for feeding the workpiece to the blade. A mobile or movable assembly carries the blade mounted on two spaced pulleys and is adjustable with respect to the rollers in order to change the spacing between the blade edge and the feeding plane between the rollers. Also mounted on the movable assembly is a sharpening device in the form of two grinding wheels which are biased toward the blade edge. A blade positioning mechanism controlled by a photocell sensing the position of the blade edge maintains the blade edge in the desired position relative to the rollers despite erosion of the blade due to sharpening and wear.
