  • Publication number: 20110192199
Abstract: The present invention relates to a skiving apparatus for at least partial removal of the outer circumferential surface of rotationally symmetric objects, in particular cylindrical plastic pipes, said apparatus containing a bell-shaped housing with a central longitudinal axis, said housing having a skiving recess which is coaxially aligned with the central longitudinal axis—and outwardly open at one end face of the bell-shaped housing via a feed opening. Disposed in said housing is a blade which projects into the skiving recess with its cutting edge aligned preferably parallel to the central longitudinal axis of said housing. According to the invention, the blade is mounted in a blade guide such that the blade is reversibly displaceable in the direction of the central longitudinal axis of the housing.

  • Patent number: 7497099
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to efficiently perform a series of processing including washing in which, for example, different types of clothes or a large volume of clothes etc. are washed and thereafter arranged in order. The clothes etc. are sortably stored in a washing basket (A) for storing the clothes etc. hung on hangers by hanging them vertically, a washing basket (B) for storing the clothes etc. hung on hangers by stacking them horizontally, and a washing basket (C) for storing the clothes etc. by folding them up and stacking them on each other. Pre-processing is performed such that after these washing baskets have beet charged into a pre-processing chamber (1) and the pre-processing chamber (1) has been evacuated to remove gases such as air contained in clearances in the clothes etc., deaerated washing fluid is introduced into the pre-processing chamber (1) to immerse the clothes etc. in the washing fluid.

  • Patent number: 6698255
Abstract: A rotary hoop knife splitting machine, particularly for splitting skin free from hair, includes a knife with a cutting edge, a feeding device arranged in front of the cutting edge, wherein the feeding device includes a transport gap defined by a base and a driven transport roll, and a feeding gap defined by another base and a driven feeding roll. The transport gap and the feeding gap are arranged closely one behind the other. The transport roll has a diameter which increases from the middle toward the ends. The transport roll is composed of two parts connected to each other in an articulated manner so as to rotate together. The two parts are mounted such that a surface line of the transport roll at the transport gap is a straight line extending parallel to the base.

  • Patent number: 6553886
Abstract: A hide splitting machine according to the invention has two pivot arms, mounted on modified journals at each end of a rubber roller, that are connected to two ring roller swivel arms attached to each end of the ring roller. The ring roller swivel arms connected to the pivot arms allow constant radial distance movement of the ring roller along the circumference of the rubber roller. Therefore, the ring roller can be retracted or moved away automatically, without possibility of mechanical damage, from the razor sharp band knife and ring jaw insert edge. The automatic retraction of the ring roller a preset distance allows splitting machine operators to easily access the ring jaw insert for safe, quick and efficient manual cleaning of the ring jaw insert edge. The automatic retraction of the ring roller further eliminates physical handling and/or manual removal of the ring roller from the splitting machine during the ring jaw insert edge cleaning process.

  • Patent number: 6434978
Abstract: A ring roller, used in the hide splitting process as a hide transport device, is described that is continuously self cleaning and which provides a constant gap between outer rings of a ring roller. The ring roller is capable of directing pressurized water, or other gaseous and/or liquid fluid from the internal to the external surface of the ring roller. The constant supply of pressurized water, or other gaseous and/or liquid fluid from the internal to the external surface of the ring roller prevents the entry of lime solution, flesh, fat, grease, and other materials that result from the hide splitting process, into the ring roller. Therefore, the ring roller constantly and continuously provides optimum, consistent, high quality performance. Maintenance downtime for the ring roller is minimized. The ring roller, properly operated, will perform to expected design and operational parameters.

  • Patent number: 5852877
Abstract: A belt skiving apparatus and method in which a free-standing blade-carrying carriage is employed which does not require a guiding base. The carriage has a pair of rollers defining a nip into which a belt end to be skived is passed. The rollers press together about the belt end to securely grip the belt. One of the rollers is toothed to provide a non-slip engagement with the surface of the belt and at least one of the rollers is driven, preferably manually, through a crank arm. Rotation of the rollers advances the carriage relative to the belt to advance the carriage across the width of the belt. As the carriage is advanced, the belt is passed through the rollers and through a cutting blade disposed adjacent the rollers. As the carriage is advanced along the width of the belt, the blade slices a thin strip of the upper portion of the belt adjacent its upper face from the remainder of the belt. The thin strip that is removed is the portion of the belt that was punctured by the teeth of the driving roller.

  • Patent number: 5611222
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for reducing the thickness of (or skiving) regions of sheet material workpieces, e.g. shoe upper components, involves feeding a workpiece 14 to a band knife (4) and, in advance of said knife, applying pressure to the workpiece 14, using a row of pressure-applying elements (18) to deform a region of the workpiece in relation to the cutting plane (20) of the knife. By controlling the elements (18) to operate in successive sequences of combinations, regions of the workpiece (14) are successively skived as the workpiece (14) passes the knife (4). The operation of the elements (18) is controlled by a computer (CPU), having a memory in which workpiece information data, relating to certain workpiece parameters, as well as in accordance with shape, positional and orientational data is stored. Such data may be generated using optical recognition workpiece means (100,120,140,160).

  • Patent number: 5119648
Abstract: The single-pass hide skiving machine includes a supporting structure (1) which rotatably supports a motorized cylinder (2). A first oscillating frame (3) rotatably supports a support cylinder (4) which is arrangeable in a working position below and slightly forward of the motorized cylinder. A second oscillating frame (8) rotatably supports a first bladed cylinder (9) which is arrangeable in a working position slightly rearward of the support cylinder. Arranged above and slightly forward of the motorized cylinder is a second bladed cylinder (31). Additionally, a contrast cylinder (18), kinematically connected to the support cylinder (4) by rollers (17), is movable into a working position between the support cylinder (4) and the second bladed cylinder (31). A hide is initially fed through the motorized cylinder and support cylinder and then through the first bladed cylinder (9) and the support cylinder (4) to effect the skiving.
