  • Patent number: 8297087
Abstract: A lock device includes a locking unit, a connecting unit, and a latch. The locking unit includes a shank, a rotation knob, a control wheel, a plurality of number wheels, a plurality of locating pieces, and a plurality of snap-fit members. The shank has a first positioning hole. The rotation knob has a second positioning hole combined with the first positioning hole of the shank by a positioning member. Thus, the user has to detach the positioning member from the first positioning hole of the shank to release the rotation knob so as to rotate the rotation knob for changing the code of the number wheels, thereby preventing the user from changing the code of the number wheels freely when rotating the rotation knob unintentionally.

Abstract: A lock structure including an activation device, a combination lock, and a setting device is provided. The combination lock has a plurality of dials, a shaft passing through the dials, and a plurality of first gears disposed on one side of each dial. Each first gear further includes a missing tooth. One end of the shaft is connected to the activation device. The setting device has a plurality of second gears corresponding to the first gears and a setting shaft, wherein one end of the setting shaft passes through the second gears and the other end is connected to the activation device. When the activation device is activated, the second gears are driven to rotate the first gears, so that when each second gear runs free with the missing tooth of each first gear, the dials are in a predetermined position. That is, by means of the activation device and the setting device, the dials of the combination lock can automatically return to the predetermined position after opening or closing the lock.

  • Patent number: 7337637
Abstract: A combination resetting member for a cable lock mainly contains a stationary piece and a movable piece. The movable piece is concentrically positioned inside the stationary piece and two diametrically opposing pins penetrates through the stationary piece, two grooves of the movable piece, and into two corresponding holes on the tip of a column of a female lock member. The movable piece has two diametrically opposing flanges on the front surface and two diametrically opposing blocks on the back surface. The flanges and the blocks are orthogonal to each other. Corresponding to each of the blocks but on the front surface, there are a shallower U-shaped groove and a deeper U-shaped groove. The movable piece can be forced to move orthogonally to the pins and the pins therefore could shift from the shallower grooves to the deeper grooves and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 4366684
Abstract: A latching device for apertured members, such as the sliders of a double-slider zipper employed as a closure on a luggage case, has a latch pivotally mounted on a body member and an upstanding stud which is adapted to be covered by the latch when in latched position. The latching device employs a latching mechanism which is operated by the movement of the pivoted latch without the necessity of manipulating a secondary, manual actuator, thereby permitting the latching device to be operated with one hand. The device includes a pair of plungers slideably disposed within a housing, the plungers having end portions extending beyond the housing which are shaped for cooperation with cams attached to the underside of the latch. The plungers are driven into the housing by the cams when the latch is lowered or raised. When the latch is open, the plungers are held partially driven into the housing, thereby reducing the downward force necessary to close the latch.
