The computing device may transmitting the UUID of the beacon of the second device and the first location to a third device, based on determining the UUID of the beacon of the second device matches an entry in the list.

  • Patent number: 10228255
Abstract: A method and system for determining a traveled route of a mobile device in a mobile network. A determination is made of a series of consecutive movements of the mobile device along a path of locations from an origin location of the path at an earliest activity of a plurality of activities of the mobile device to a destination location of the path at a latest activity of the plurality of activities. Historical sets of routes of the mobile device are accessed from storage. At least one common route is ascertained from the set of routes, wherein the locations in each common route include all of the locations on the path. A common route of the at least one common route is designated as the traveled route of the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 10225275
Abstract: The invention is a method of detecting malicious behavior of a network participant. Specific usage values observable at a network connectivity layer are defined. These usage values can be size of data transferred, quantity of data bursts, a quantity of IP address destinations, a network protocol being used, and/or a length of an encryption key. The invention measures the usage values for the network participant across multiple networks over a predetermined period of time and creates a statistical digital dossier representative of patterns of the measured usage values for the network participant. The invention monitors the behavior of the network participant by measuring current usage values. The current usage values are compared against the statistical digital dossier and, if a deviation beyond a predefined tolerance is detected, an alert signal is issued.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide an independent authentication system for authenticating entities that have registered accounts across different online service providers on behalf of the service providers. The authentication system maintains a database of previously verified entity information. A service provider requests authentication by providing the authentication system with unverified and basic identifying information used by an entity when registering with the service provider. The authentication system attempts to match the registration information against previously verified information for a known entity. When a match is found, the authentication system generates a series of challenge questions. The questions are submitted to the entity through the service provider and answers are processed in order to authenticate the entity.

  • Patent number: 10210547
Abstract: In general, embodiments of the present invention provide systems, methods and computer readable media for ranking promotions selected for recommendation to consumers based on predictions of promotion performance and consumer behavior. In embodiments, a set of promotions to be recommended to a consumer can be sorted and/or ranked according to respective relevance scores representing a probability that the consumer's behavior in response to the promotion will match a ranking target. In embodiments, calculating scores is based on a relevance model (a predictive function) derived from one or more contextual data sources representing attributes of promotions and consumer behavior. In embodiments, an absolute relevance score represents an absolute prediction of a ranking target variable. In embodiments, absolute relevance may be used to determine personalized local merchant discovery frontiers; featured result set thresholding for impressions; and/or promotion notification triggers.

Abstract: A system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program, and a computer-implemented method for referring contacts to receive text message alerts. An accounts module receives first user data including an indicator that a first user requested to subscribe to receive text messages alerts. The account module adds, based at least on the received first user data, a first user account to a database of subscribers. A message generator module generates, using the processor in response to receiving the first user data, a first text message corresponding to an offer to subscribe to receive text message alerts. A communication module transmits to the first user the first text message corresponding to the offer to subscribe to receive text message alerts. The transmitted first text message can be forwarded to a second user.

Abstract: An apparatus, method, and computer program product are provided to translate message objects received in connection with request data objects to be translated into notification objects that are in format that can be received and processed by a system associated with an intended recipient to allow for efficient communication across disparate and incompatible systems. In some example implementations, otherwise a translation system transforms request information based on parameters associated with the message object and intended recipient to ensure that request information is properly received by recipient systems that may use obsolete, legacy, and/or specialized systems. Some example implementations involve the application of error detection protocols and the display of notification object information on a user interface that allows for system monitoring and error mediation.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards providing supplemental content to a viewer based on the viewer's emotion and environment while the viewer is viewing content. Content is provided to a content receiver for presentation to the viewer. While the viewer is viewing the content, an image of the viewer is captured and analyzed to detect the viewer's emotion and environment. Supplemental content is selected based on this detected viewer emotion and environment and presented to the viewer, which allows the supplemental content to be tailored to the emotional state of the viewer. One or more additional images of the viewer are captured while the viewer is viewing the supplemental content and the viewer's emotion while viewing the supplemental content is detected. This subsequent viewer emotion is analyzed to determine if the viewer had an expected response to the supplemental content, which can be used to determine the efficiency of the supplemental content.

Abstract: A network based indoor positioning and geofencing system and method is described. Beacons are disposed within a physical premises and each beacon transmits a signal containing identifying information. A networked indoor positioning module receives measured reference points that include a measured beacon identifier and a measured signal strength. The networked indoor positioning module uses the measured reference points to generate calculated signal strength values for at least one detected beacon. At least one geofence is associated with the physical premises and the geofence includes some of the calculated signal strength values. A wireless device receives a beacon identifier and a beacon signal strength, when the wireless device is in or near a geofence associated the physical premises.
