Abstract: There are disclosed a method of sending personalized content to an electronic device associated with a user. The method comprises: receiving, by the network resource server from the electronic device, a user request to access the network resource; in response to the user request, transmitting, by the network resource server to the electronic device a trigger associated with the network resource, the trigger configured to cause the electronic device to download the generic content portion of the network resource from the network resource server and the personalized content portion of the network resource from the personalized content server. The method further comprises transmitting by the network resource server to the personalized content server an auxiliary request for the personalized content portion, and inserting, by the network resource server, the personalized content portion into the network resource to render an updated network resource.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to systems, apparatuses and methods for using a first device with an accelerometer to transfer data by making contact with a second device with an accelerometer, thereby generating interaction data that is representative of the physical contact between the mobile device and the second device. The first device may be a mobile phone. The second device may be a mobile phone or a stationary kiosk or terminal. A first device with an accelerometer physically contacts the second device. Each of the first and second devices generate interaction data (e.g., accelerometer, location, time data, etc.) representative of the physical interaction between the first and second device. A server computer determines, based on interaction data, that the first device and the second device physically contact each other. After determining that the mobile device and the second device made contact, communications may be initiated between the devices.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for generating personalized greetings for presentation by a personal digital assistant on a client device. An indication is received from the client device associated with the user that the personal digital assistant has been launched on the client device. User-specific information and contextual information is retrieved by querying a user profile database and one or more services. A personalized greeting engine utilizes the user-specific information, such as user inferences and interests, and the contextual information to generate the personalized greetings for presentation by the digital assistant on the client device.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and programs for processing extra data when a triggering event occurs. In one embodiment, an application, triggering event data, and extra data is stored on a wireless device. The wireless device monitors a triggering event parameter associated with an application, such as the expiration of the application. When the triggering event occurs, the wireless device processes the extra data in addition to processing associated with the triggering event data. The extra data may include URLs, scripts or other instructions that involve processing locally to the wireless device or requiring connection to a wireless network for remote processing on other devices.

Abstract: A system includes a processor and an information wallet application stored on machine readable storage media coupled to the processor and including program logic that causes the processor to receive a shopping list from a first information wallet adapter stored on a user computing device, send the shopping list to a second information wallet adapter stored on a merchant computing device, receive merchant data from the second information wallet adapter, wherein the merchant data includes one of price data and quantity data for at least one item included in the shopping list, and send the merchant data to the first information wallet adapter. Abstract: Methods and systems are described for selecting an engaging ad campaign among advertising campaigns having different types of bid strategies. In one embodiment, an advertising system designed for selecting relevant and engaging ad campaigns for delivering to a device of a user includes an adaptive decision unit having filter logic for filtering eligible ad campaigns, a storage medium to store instructions of the system, and processing logic coupled to the storage medium. The processing logic is configured to execute the instructions of the system to receive and process an ad request from the device upon initiation of a software application on the device, filter eligible ad campaigns, convert each bid strategy of the filtered ad campaigns into an effective cost-per-mille (CPM) strategy, compare effective CPM strategies for the filtered ad campaigns, and select an ad campaign based on the comparison of the effective CPM strategies.

Abstract: A process for allowing a Concurrent Multi-Netting (CMN-4) equipped Link 16 terminal to enter an active network. After an initial entry command is entered at the terminal at a given current time at the terminal, a number of time slots are identified in which multiple receivers at the terminal have an opportunity to detect an initial entry message (IEM) after the given current time. Each of the receivers is set to detect an IEM during a different one of the identified time slots. When an IEM is first detected by one of the receivers, the current time at the terminal is reset based on the time slot in which the IEM was detected.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for interactive applications that use location-based information from a light sensor network are presented. In example embodiments, data indicating a destination location inside a geofence is received. The geofence represents a boundary around multiple private beacon nodes, which are associated with a light sensor network, and their associated beacon communications ranges. Navigation and tracking outside the geofence is based on at least one of global positioning system (GPS) signals and beacon signals received by the mobile device from at least one public beacon device within a beacon communications range of the mobile device located outside the geofence. Navigation and tracking inside the geofence is based on the beacon signals received by the mobile device from at least one private beacon node within the beacon communications range of the mobile device located inside the geofence and a virtual map including an area within the geofence.

Abstract: Location data is obtained from signals transmitted by a first plurality of mobile wireless devices in a wireless network, wherein the first plurality of mobile wireless devices are moving within a predefined space, and wherein the location data comprises a plurality of location data time points, each location data time point including a timestamp, a unique mobile wireless device identifier, and location information indicating where in the predefined space an associated mobile wireless device is located. For each mobile wireless device, location data time points are aggregated to generate a set of aggregated location data for each mobile wireless device, and the set of aggregated location data is analyzed to determine characteristics corresponding to time-dependent behavior and location-specific behavior of the corresponding mobile wireless device. A user of each corresponding mobile wireless device is classified into a category of a plurality of categories based on the determined characteristics.

Abstract: A Controlled Environment Secure Media Streaming System manages the delivery of content to Secured Devices. Cloud Services provide content to Integration Hub. The Integration Hub interfaces with various cloud services providers and prepares content for consumption by a resident of a secured facility. Integration Hub utilizes Content Filter to inspect content received from cloud service providers for suitability for use in a secured environment. Once content is retrieved, filtered, formatted, and packaged by Integration Hub, the content is stored in Data Warehouse. Secured Devices request content from the Distribution Hub, the Distribution Hub retrieves the content from the Data Warehouse, and then Distribution Flub manages the transfer of content to the Secured Devices. In some embodiments, Distribution Hub utilizes Content Filter to determine whether or not a particular Secured Device can access particular content.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes monitoring one or more mobile devices within a venue. The computer-implemented method further includes receiving a scan event indication denoting a scan of a ticket by a scanning device. The computer-implemented method further includes, responsive to receiving a scan event indication, identifying a candidate list, wherein the candidate list includes one or more candidate mobile devices that are within a threshold distance of the scanning device. The computer-implemented method further includes associating the ticket with at least one of the one or more candidate mobile devices. A device and/or a server of an authentication network stored fob data relating to one or more key fobs linked to the vehicle, and device data that includes data relating to one or more devices that are authorized to access the vehicle. The vehicle receives an access request indicating that a new device is requesting access to the vehicle, whereupon a challenge may be transmitted to one or more of the authorized devices. The one or more devices may respond, granting access to vehicle functions. The vehicle and/or authentication network generate a secure fob key based on the response and transmit the secure fob key to the new device. The new device may be authenticated to access vehicle functions based at least in part on the fob key.

Abstract: Techniques for purchasing products from a retail establishment using a mobile device allow a user to transact a purchase of physical products within a retail establishment site, without need for significant interaction with personnel of the retail establishment to transact the purchase. The user may install a software application on the mobile device to communicate with a purchase facilitating server. An image acquisition component of the mobile device may be used to obtain an image of indicia, such as a bar code, on a product to be purchased within the retail establishment. Image recognition may be performed on the indicia to identify the product to be purchased, the user may submit payment information via the mobile device, and the purchase facilitating server may transact the user's purchase of the product. The purchase facilitating server may transmit a purchase confirmation to the mobile device as a receipt of the user's purchase.

An online advertisement may be served to a user in response to a query or at a website. In response to the user selecting the advertisement, a landing page is displayed to the user and information regarding the advertisement is stored for logging purposes. The landing page may instruct the user to check in with an NFC-enabled device at an NFC base station of a merchant. The NFC base station transmits information identifying the merchant to the user's device and, in turn, the user's device transmits the information to the advertisement distribution system. The advertisement distribution determines that the advertisement resulted in a conversion using information regarding the advertisement and the information identifying the merchant received from the NFC base station via the user's device.

The broadcasting of the digital television and delivery the interactive broadband service occur simultaneously. When used for presenting media content, the data processing system may also cause supplemental data to automatically be presented, wherein the supplemental data is relevant to the media content and to a predetermined interest of the user.
