Abstract: Technologies are described herein for providing a presenter view in a presentation application. A determination is made, by a presentation application executing on a computer, as to whether a secondary display device is coupled to the computer. If a determination is made that the secondary display device is coupled to the computer, then the presentation application is transformed from a default configuration to a presenter configuration. If a determination has been made that the presentation is complete, then the presentation application is transformed from a presenter configuration to a default configuration.

Abstract: A software means for alternating between corresponding hierarchical representation of organized thought such as a bubble map format and an outline format to be used with hand held computerized devices such as mobile phones and tablet computers wherein the device is rotated so as to cause a landscape or portrait orientated display. Upon rotation, a user alternates from, for example, a bubble map format in landscape mode to an outline format in portrait mode while maintaining all thoughts stored in either format. Alternative means for switching between formats include swiping the screen as a form of processing instruction, and viewing of each though in a slideshow format with a dropdown menu permitting navigation between all thoughts in a hierarchical format.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for generating a binary transition file. Multiple animation structures may be generated in the binary transition file. The animation structures may define a sequence of three-dimensional meshes. A header portion may also be generated in the binary transition file. The header portion may define slides that are applied to the three-dimensional meshes to produce a transition between the slides. A presentation program application may be modified with the binary transition file, thereby adapting the presentation program application to provide the transition.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer readable media to display a multimedia timeline are disclosed. Data associated with a multimedia timeline may be received. The multimedia timeline may correspond to a life event. A first view may be generated to display a first portion of the multimedia timeline in a timeline format at a display device. The first view may correspond to a first time period.

Abstract: Various embodiments illustrated and described herein include one or more of systems, methods, software, and data structures for package file presentation. Some embodiments generate visual representations of package files by extracting a list of display elements of a package file, each display element representative of a content file or a content folder including one or more content files included in the package file; extracting a presentation specification from the package file; and presenting a view of the package file as a function of the presentation specification and the list of display elements.

Abstract: A display control apparatus which realizes display capable of providing an overview of a group of thumbnail images and which includes an object controller (52a) for performing control to, when a viewer (52) allocates images to be displayed to a predetermined number of image-frame objects (52g), in the case where the number of the images to be allocated to the individual image-frame objects exceeds the number of the image-frame objects (52g), allocate a plurality of images to at least some of the image-frame objects (52g) and, when the plurality of images are allocated to each image-frame object (52g), display all the images to be displayed within a certain time by switching the images to be displayed at predetermined time intervals.

Abstract: According to a preferred embodiment, there is provided a computer program for use in the creation and editing of multimedia works which provides a much simplified method of selecting and placing multimedia clips, with a length of less than about 20 seconds, into a longer composition. In one preferred embodiment, the user is provided with a graphical user interface where he or she can add to or modify the multimedia content contained therein by simply clicking the mouse above an empty track location, with the replacement clips being chosen and inserted into the work automatically. In another embodiment, the user will specify the screening criteria for a plurality of tracks, which tracks will then be automatically populated with clips according to the user's rules to generate a multimedia work.

Abstract: User interfaces for browsing and/or searching are described. In one embodiment, a method includes displaying a first display area for display representations of documents matching a search query, the first display area configured to display content of the documents which can have a plurality of different types of content including at least one of text-based content and a folder, and displaying a second display area for selecting a selected document to be displayed in the first display area. Other embodiments are also described, and computer readable media and apparatuses are also described.

Abstract: A system and method are set forth for remotely controlling a presentation in a loop mode to allow the presentation to continue in the absence of a communication channel between the portable electronic device and remote presentation device. In particular, the portable electronic device can issue a command to the remote presentation device to present the presentation in loop mode so that a user of the portable electronic device can leave the vicinity of the remote presentation device (e.g. out of communication range) while the presentation plays in loop mode.

Abstract: The present invention enables the host (presenter) to monitor and identify the current slide of the host presentation that is being displayed on a local user machine. The host is able to receive queries such as instant messages from local user's viewing the presentation and identify a particular presentation slide with contents that formed the basis for the question. The present invention generates a transcript of the local user activities that occurred during the presentation. This transcript helps the host presenter understand the contents of the activities and the basis for queries made to the host presenter.

Abstract: User interfaces for browsing and/or searching are described. In one embodiment, a method includes displaying a first display area for display representations of documents matching a search query, the first display area configured to display content of the documents which can have a plurality of different types of content including at least one of text-based content and a folder, and displaying a second display area for selecting a selected document to be displayed in the first display area. Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to the retrieval, serving, and rendering of web content provided from a web content server to a requesting client device, e.g., over a network, based on target latency. A computer-implemented method includes determining, by a web content server, a requesting client device in communication with the web content server, or both, latency-related limitations of the client device. The method also includes determining, by the web content server, the client device, or both, web content needs of the client device based on a web content request from the client device. The method further includes adjusting web content to be displayed at the client device based on the determined latency-related limitations and needs of the client device. At least a portion of the adjusting of web content can occur at the web content server, the client device, or both. Related systems are also presented.

Abstract: A waiting time until editing starts is shortened. Metadata that are a part of metadata are transferred from an optical disc set in a disc unit to an HDD in an editing device. The metadata are text data including a clip ID and continuing time information of material data, and they are small in information quantity. Thus, a waiting time for waiting for the completion of metadata transfer does not take place, and immediately after the optical disc is set editing processing can start. An editor selects a clip in accordance with a clip ID included in the metadata. Further, the editor selects a used portion of the clip in accordance with the continuing time information included in the metadata. Editing data are generated on the basis of these selected results.

Abstract: An electronic device, a method for viewing a desktop thereof, and a computer-readable medium are provided. One of n continuous areas of the desktop and a navigation bar are displayed in a touch screen of the electronic device. The navigation bar includes an indicator and n indexes, wherein the n indexes are respectively corresponding to the n areas, and the indicator points to the index corresponding to the area currently displayed in the touch screen. When a sliding operation applied to the indicator is detected on the navigation bar, the desktop and the indicator are moved according to the sliding operation. When the sliding operation terminates, an index closest to the indicator is selected from the n indexes as a target index. Finally, the indicator is controlled to point to the target index, and a target area corresponding to the target index is displayed in the touch screen.

Abstract: A computer readable medium (CRM) storing a media editing application for creating media presentations is described. The application includes a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI has (1) a display area for displaying a composite presentation that the application creates by compositing a plurality of media clips, (2) a composite display area for displaying graphical representations of a set of media clips that are part of the composite presentation and a set of media clips that are candidates for adding to the composite presentation, and (3) a preview tool for differentiating in the composite display area the graphical representation of any media clip that is part of the composite presentation from the graphical representation of any media clip that is a candidate for adding to the composite presentation.

Abstract: A system and method for analyzing time for a slide presentation that permits a speaker to coordinate available time with the number of slides to be shown and a method of operating the same is described. In one embodiment, the system includes: (1) a time allocation tool enabling a user to establish a presentation time with respect to at least one slide in the slide presentation and allocate any remaining presentation time to each remaining slide on a pro-rata basis and (2) a monitoring module associated with the time allocation tool to monitor the progress of the slide presentation and display a time status for the slide presentation as well as a slide number and a time status for a currently displayed slide.

Abstract: Approaches are described in which objects within slides are identified, automatically or by a user, and each object is individually manipulable during slide transitions. The individual manipulation applied to each object during a transition may also be automatically determined or specified by a user. The persistence of an object between slides may be taken into account in the manipulation of the object during slide transition such that objects present on both a incoming and outgoing slide are handled differently than those objects present on only one of the slides.

Abstract: In the context of a site analysis report showing paths between nodes, color is used to indicate a direction of traffic that follows a particular node-to-node path. Different colors are assigned to different nodes in a site analysis report. Paths are color-coded according to their destination nodes, so as to provide a distinctive visual identification of a traffic flow direction. Node connection direction can be reinforced by static or moving arrows.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of generating a presentation including a plurality of slides, the method comprising: storing a first slide and a second slide, each slide having one or more content elements; selecting, based on the one or more content elements of the first slide or the second slide or both, a slide transition from a set of slide transitions, each slide transition in the set of slide transitions defining how display of one slide changes to display of another slide; displaying the first slide; and, subsequently changing display of the first slide to display of the second slide in accordance with the selected slide transition. An electronic device and computer program product are also provided.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, an information processing apparatus includes an image storing processor, a slide show transmitter and a comment receiver. The image storing processor receives an image from clients and stores first images including the received image. The slide show transmitter generates a slide show including second images of the first images and transmits the slide show including the second images in a first order to a first client. The comment receiver receives from the first client comments associated with images of the second images. The slide show transmitter alters the slide show such that the slide show includes the second images in a second order based on the comments and transmits the altered slide show to a second client.

Abstract: In enterprises, presentations are designed and made to visiting clients on a routine basis and it is expected that such presentations be effective as much of business depends on right kind of information in right depth and volume made to right audience. The typically followed manual process depends on the capabilities of a person to create such presentations. It is required to obtain as little information as possible to generate presentations as much automatically as possible. The automatic generation of presentations is based on (a) agenda; (b) audience profile; and (c) templates. The system analyzes an agenda and audience profile to obtain adequate information to identify the most appropriate templates and uses the same to generate one or more draft presentation versions that best match the requirements of the agenda. Further, the invention also provides for an automatic generation of (a) slide annotations; (b) presentation theme; and (c) templates.

Abstract: A method by which a multimedia presentation editor for use on a (typically handheld) communication or computing terminal (10) interfaces with a user so as to allow the user to create or edit a presentation (20), including: a step (51) in which objects to be displayed successively when a slide (21) is displayed in play mode, are instead assembled by the editor one under another in a column (25a), and objects (22) to be displayed continuously are also assembled in a (one-object-long) column (25b); and a step (52) in which the editor displays each column (25a-b) side-by-side, corresponding to the side-by-side arrangement of respective objects in the different columns (25a-b) when the slide (21) is displayed in play mode, thus allowing some parts of the slide (21) to be fixed, and some parts (23a-c) to change—the parts having columns with more than one object. Abstract: A system for collaborative viewing of a digital slide image. In an embodiment, a session is established for viewing a digital slide image by a plurality of client viewers. A leader client viewer and non-leader client viewers are identified for the session. When a command is received from the leader client viewer, the command is sent to each of the non-leader client viewers to synchronize a view of the digital slide image at the non-leader client viewers with the view of the digital slide image at the leader client viewer.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a touch screen, a microcontroller (MCU), and a central processing unit (CPU). The MCU detects a plurality of touch inputs one the touch screen when the CPU is in a sleep mode, determines whether the touch inputs form a touch event, and wakens the CPU from the sleep mode upon the condition that the touch inputs form the touch event. The CPU obtains the touch event from the MCU and executes the touch event to quickly turn a page of an e-book of the electronic device.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies are described herein for providing interactive slide presentations with accompanying notes in a reading mode of a presentation application program. In accordance with some of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, a computer-implemented method includes computer-implemented operations for providing a reading mode user interface that includes a presentation object including a slide placeholder and a notes placeholder. The method may also include displaying slide content within the slide placeholder in the reading mode user interface. The method may also include moving the presentation object out of a view and a new presentation object into the view in response to an input. The method may also include scaling the new presentation object.

Abstract: A first processing component is configured to create at least a first slide from electronic media selected from an electronic media repository. A computer communications interface is configured to access via a computer network a training electronic media repository. A first user interface is configured to permit selecting from the training electronic media repository a training course that includes at least a first slide including a presenter screen and further including at least a first presentee screen. A second processing component is configured to generate an image of the at least first slide for display by a first display subsystem. A third processing component is configured to generate an image of the at least first presentee screen for display by a second display subsystem to at least one presentee without displaying the presenter screen to the presentee.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for composing and managing a presentation in a virtual world. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for composing and managing a presentation in a virtual world can include arranging a set of slides in a presentation, selecting a location in a portion of a virtual world for displaying the slides and also for attendee avatars viewing the slides, composing movements and gestures of a presenter avatar in coordination with a display of slide content of the slides, and presenting the presentation in the location of the virtual world at the location selected for displaying the slides for the attendee avatars placed the selected location for the attendee avatars while applying the composed movements and gestures of the presenter avatar coordinated with a display of slide content of the slides.

Abstract: During a display of a slideshow of a composite image comprising a plurality of images, a user operates a print bookmark, resulting in composite images and individual images that can be printed being set and stored as print candidate images. By displaying, in a list, stored candidate images on a display unit as print candidate images, an image processing apparatus is provided which enables the user to specify a desired image for printing.

Abstract: A method and system for delivering a presentation created using a presentation application program are disclosed. One method includes initiating, from a presentation computing system, display of a presentation to one or more remote computing devices. The method also includes creating an initial display package based on the presentation that includes metadata describing the presentation and an image representative of the presentation, and uploading the initial display package to a presentation server. The method includes, after uploading the initial display package, creating an initial set of presentation slides from the presentation, and uploading the initial set of presentation slides to the presentation server. The method further includes, after uploading the initial set of presentation slides, uploading at least a remaining portion of the presentation to the presentation server for display at one or more of the remote computing devices.

Abstract: Systems for coordinating the presentation of media with an event are provided, the systems comprising: at least one processor that: receives media characteristic data associated with an event and target media; identifies presentation media as being target media based on the media characteristic data; determines a timing of a presentation of the presentation media; and presents the presentation media with the event according to the timing. Similar methods, and computer readable media containing instructions that perform such methods, are also provided.

Abstract: A user interface is provided for interacting with slides and objects provided on slides. In certain embodiments, the user interface includes features that are displayed attached to or proximate to selected slides or objects. In embodiments, aspects of the user interface may be used to preview, review, add, or modify transitions associated with animation from one slide to the next (or previous) and builds associated with animation of objects on slides.

Abstract: A system and method are set forth for remotely controlling a presentation from a portable electronic device so as to freeze a slide on a remote projector to permit searching for a desired slide on the portable electronic device and then continuing the presentation when searching is complete. In one embodiment, a switch is provided in a communication layer of a presentation application such that when the switch is turned off, communication is suspended between the portable electronic device and the projector, thereby permitting browsing on the portable electronic device without interrupting the presentation. When the switch is turned on the current slide information is transmitted from the portable electronic device to the projector.

Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for presenting digital images over a display in a slideshow presentation. The slideshow has an appearance of the images being hand-placed and for providing a more human feel to the presentation of digital images.

Abstract: A method for marking a slide file includes the following steps. Generating at least two reference spots on the slide file displayed by a display at preset reference coordinates of a displayed slide file. Obtaining an image of the slide file projected on a projection screen. Identifying the reference spots in the image and determining a standard coordinate of each reference spot in the image. Obtaining an association between the standard coordinates in the image and the preset reference coordinates in the displayed slide file. Obtaining a variety of images of the projected slide file. Identifying a bright spot in each image and determining its coordinate in each image. Calculating a coordinate of each bright spot in the displayed slide file according to the its determined coordinate in the image and the obtained association. Generating a continuous mark on the displayed slide file along the calculated coordinates.

Abstract: An editing apparatus for video data creates a bridge file for connecting a first file and a second file to be edited based on designation of an IN point of the first file, an OUT point of the second file, and connection points of the both files, a frame preceding the connection point of the first file being made an OUT point and a frame following the connection point of the second file being made an IN point, and the bridge file connecting the OUT point and the IN point, records the bridge file into a recording medium recording the first and second files, and creates an editing result file having file system information indicating recording positions: from the IN point to the OUT point in the first file; from the IN point to the OUT point in the second file; and of the bridge file, in the recording medium.

Abstract: A custom layout may be created that includes an arbitrary number of placeholders. Instead of having to use one of the predefined slide layouts available from a presentation program, a user may create their own set of custom layouts that may be used in zero or more presentations and applied to zero or more slides. A custom layout may include title placeholders, header/footer placeholders, as well as body placeholders. The custom layouts may contain both typed and un-typed placeholders. The placeholders on the custom layout may be positioned and formatted as desired by the user. A user may also create and include customized backgrounds on the custom layout. The custom layout may be edited in the same manner as a slide. The user may utilize the interface to copy, move, delete, and edit the custom layouts.

Abstract: A production system automates the control of production devices used to produce and broadcast a show. The system automation allows a video director to pre-produce, preview, and produce the live show from a single user interface. In an embodiment, a processing unit displays graphical controls for the production devices. A video director interacts with the graphical controls to thereby remotely control the production devices from one location. In an embodiment, a video director defines a set of production commands or instructions (i.e., “transition macro”). Upon execution, each production command directs the processing unit to transmit in series and/or parallel one or more control commands to one or more of the production devices. Production commands can be included to enable the show to be broadcast live or recorded for on-demand access. Live and/or on-demand productions are distributed over traditional television mediums and/or a computer network, including the Internet.

Abstract: A computer readable medium (CRM) storing a media editing application for creating media presentations is described. The application includes a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI has (1) a display area for displaying a composite presentation that the application creates by compositing a plurality of media clips, (2) a composite display area for displaying graphical representations of a set of media clips that are part of the composite presentation, (3) an audition display area for displaying graphical representations of a set of media clips that are candidates for adding to the composite presentation at a particular location, and (4) an audition tool for creating an audition set for a particular location in the composite display area, where the audition set is a user modifiable set of clips, each of which is for individual placement at the particular location for inclusion in the composite presentation.

Abstract: An active meeting can be identified that occurs in a collaborative environment that is an electronic meeting system. The meeting can be associated with a meeting identifier, a ranking value, and/or a plurality of participants. Relationship information of the participants with regard to a specified entity can be determined. Relationship information can include a social network relationship, presence information, and/or collaboration metadata. A ranking value, which is a numerical or alphanumeric value, for the meeting can be programmatically established based on the relationship information.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed for delivering instructional information and include displaying instructional information on several visual displays prior to a triggering event and displaying the instructional information in an instructional varying display pattern on the at least three visual displays after the triggering event so a person viewing the instructional varying display pattern is unable to detect a repeatable pattern. Also included is displaying background information on each display not displaying instructional information. The background information is displayed with a background varying display pattern so a person is unable to detect a repeatable pattern.

Abstract: A videoconference multipoint control unit (MCU) automatically generates display layouts for videoconference endpoints. Display layouts are generated based on attributes associated with video streams received from the endpoints and display configuration information of the endpoints. An endpoint can include one or more attributes in each outgoing stream. Attributes can be assigned based on video streams' role, content, camera source, etc. Display layouts can be regenerated if one or more attributes change. A mixer can generate video streams to be displayed at the endpoints based on the display layout.

Abstract: A presentation program provides a graphical user interface that includes a theme gallery and a theme variation gallery. Users can apply a theme to a slide by selecting a theme thumbnail image. Once selected, a corresponding set of theme variations are indicated in the theme variation gallery using theme variation thumbnail images. Users can apply the desired theme variation by selecting the theme variation thumbnail image. Once selected, the theme variation is applied to the slide. A theme variation family identifier is stored in the slide file that allows subsequent identification of the theme, and allows a presentation program to subsequently identify theme variations for display on the theme variation gallery. A file structure is identified that allows backwards compatibility so that a presentation file of a slide with theme variations can be opened by an earlier version of a presentation program that does not implement theme variations.

Abstract: A multifunction device having a touch-sensitive surface displays graphical objects that represent digital content products, each graphic object having a front side image and a back side image. An initial display shows front side images of objects representing digital content products. A user input selects a graphical object, resulting in an animation that simultaneously flips the graphical object over and enlarges it. At the end of the animation, the back side is displayed, and is larger than the initial front side image. A second user input on a front side image of a second graphical object results in a second animation that simultaneously flips the first graphical object over and reduces its size, and also flips the second graphical object over and enlarges it. The front side image of the first graphical object and the back side image of the second graphical object are thereby concurrently displayed.

Abstract: A slide kit creation system and method allows reviewers of a slide kit to insert non-textual comments, such as audio comments, to be associated with selected slides. In one embodiment, audio comments are transmitted to a host computer by telephone, and may be posted on the host computer for access by other reviewers. The audio comments may also be transcribed in text form. In another embodiment, comments may be associated with various portions of a video, in the same manner. A video navigation bar is coded to indicate which portions of the video are associated with comments. Alternatively, certain attributes of the video can be altered to indicate the presence of comments associated with specific scenes of the video.

Abstract: A method and system is disclosed that allows a user to easily and intuitively operate applications that require contact information, in a touch device, via a tray item associated with the contact information. The method for operating applications includes: displaying a contact tray comprised of a number of tray items based on contact information, on an execution screen; receiving an interaction to use a tray item in the contact tray; configuring an execution screen for an application based on contact information of the tray item; and operating the application based on the configured execution screen.
