Abstract: Systems and methods for sequencing electronic files include generating a first file sequence and one or more alternative file sequences. An alternative file sequence may be generated based in part on a characteristic of a file in the first sequence. The first and alternative sequences may be used in an electronic slideshow that allows a user to switch between file sequences. In some implementations, which alternative file sequences are generated may be determined based in part on a prediction of characteristics that may be of interest to a user.

Abstract: Computer method and system provides context in an online meeting, a web conference or other shared slides application. A person (attendee or participant) asking a question does so in the specific section (slide) of the shared application. Screen images of these specific slides are captured and coupled to respective questions. The questions are queued for the presenter. Captured screen images provide context for the questions. Each question selected from the queue by the presenter automatically provides context without interrupting flow of the presentation and online meeting.

Abstract: A method or system for synchronizing e-mail messages for a user, particularly for POP3 protocols. E-mail messages addressed to the user are received at an e-mail control at a local server, from an external e-mail server. The e-mail control stores each e-mail message in a consolidated e-mail storage at the local server. The e-mail control stores a message identifier for each e-mail message, in a message identifier storage at the local server. It is determined whether an e-mail message in the consolidated e-mail storage has been deleted from the external e-mail server, and if so, then the e-mail message is deleted from the consolidated e-mail storage.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for comparing two slide decks using a compare service. The compare service generates a comparison analysis for the two slide decks based on a comparison theme selected by the user. The result of the analysis is displayed in a comparison display that includes a slide selector section, a slide pair viewer section, and a navigable change summary section. In one embodiment, the compare service allows the user to select preferred slides from the two slide decks displayed in the comparison display, and subsequently generates a new slide deck that contains only the preferred slides selected by the user.

Abstract: Techniques for displaying object animations on a slide are disclosed. In accordance with these techniques, objects on a slide may be assigned actions when generating or editing the slide. The effects of the actions on the slide are depicted using one or more respective representations which represent the slide as it will appear after implementation of one or more corresponding actions.

A user interface data model mapping service layer communicates with at least one of a business logic service layer and a data storage interface layer to perform one or more operations in connection with the data storage management task and to map data received therefrom in a form for use by the user interface in accordance with a user interface data model.

The imaging service accesses images of a location, arranges them such that they create a desired visual effect when displayed, and combines them in a visual presentation. The imaging service may employ a client/server system, in which case images and information are uploaded from a client, and the visual presentation is downloaded to the client. The imaging service may also receive compensation from a computer user for using the imaging service.

Abstract: Media timeline interaction may be provided. An electronic presentation may comprise a media object. A user may select the media object within a presentation application and use an on-object user interface in conjunction with the application's user interface to modify the media object. The user may also display the modified media object within the presentation application.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies are described herein for viewing presentations in a condensed animation mode in which a presentation program condenses or accelerates animations or effects within the presentation while maintaining the animations and effects associated with the presentation. The presentation program is configured to enter into a condensed animation mode and to render a slide of the presentation. In some embodiments, the presentation program waits for user input before playing an accelerated or condensed version of the animations and/or effects. In other embodiments, the presentation program plays the condensed or accelerated version upon rendering the slide without requiring further user input. If user input is received, the presentation program can be configured to wait for the animation sequence to complete before proceeding to the next slide and/or can interrupt playback of the animation sequence and proceed to the next slide of the presentation immediately.

The information delivery system and method provides for multiple display screens and speakers receiving instructional information based on data that is manipulated according to a set of rules in a multimedia environment. The system allows real time feedback by instructor's input, control and override so that the lesson is flexible and responsive to the classroom if changes in the learning environment occur.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software applications for managing slide presentation content are described in the present disclosure. According to one embodiment, among many, a computer readable medium is configured to store instructions that are executable by a processing device. The computer readable medium comprises logic adapted to disassemble a plurality of slide presentations into a plurality of individual files, wherein each individual file corresponds to a single slide of a respective slide presentation. The computer readable medium also includes logic adapted to extract information from each slide and logic adapted to compare the extracted information from each slide and consolidate groups of slides that are substantially similar.

Abstract: An information providing system and method and a storage medium which provide information services to each client apparatus on which a browser for browsing content and at least one object operate, through the cooperation with the operation of the object. A server apparatus has a view server for providing content to the browser, a communication server for making communication with the object, and an application sever for making the view server and the application server cooperate with each other. When a read operation from the object is performed, the communication server notifies the application server of a result of the read operation, thereby providing synchronization between the communication server and the view server.

Abstract: Particular embodiments generally relate to randomly displaying images on a display device. In one embodiment, a list of images for display on a display device, such as a digital picture frame or television, is determined. The display device is configured to display different images in a sequential order (such as one after another). A random display method may be determined. An image in the list of images is then randomly selected based on the random display method. For example, images are randomly selected such that all images in a list of images are displayed once without duplicative display of an image.

Abstract: A slide presentation file created by a web conference client device at an initial presentation quality using one version of an application is uploaded to a web conference server device that implements a state sharing mechanism for web conference slide presentation quality improvement during a web conference among a group of web conference client devices. The web conference server device is requested to begin rendering and distribution of presentation slides as part of the web conference among the group of web conference client devices using the state sharing mechanism. A rendered web conference presentation slide of the slide presentation file is received from the web conference server device. A determination is made that the rendered web conference presentation slide of the slide presentation file is rendered at a presentation quality different from the initial presentation quality of the uploaded slide presentation file.

Abstract: A system and method of displaying presentation slides. In one aspect, the system and method provides presentation slides based on a user request for information. Both the request information and the slides are associated with identifiers. A set of slides is chosen by determining whether there are any corresponding identifiers between the request for information and the presentation slides. The slides are also chosen such that the set of slides does not include any slides associated with identifiers which are a proper subset of the identifiers of any other slide in the set.

Abstract: Automatic annotation of recorded lectures includes the annotation of recorded presentations as presented on a computer screen during a presentation. Such annotation is accomplished with metadata that indicates the original slide and the time in the presentation that the slide was presented. Registration of the presentation tags the presentation with this metadata, which uniquely identifies the presentation and each slide. The metadata enables future searching of the recorded presentation for the annotation, such that segments of recorded presentations in which the slide was presented can be recalled. The searching function can also be used in an integrated system with other applications to enable recall of segments of relevant recorded presentations.

To generate the preview, the method initially selects a subset of images that includes several images in the set but not all the images in the set. Abstract: The invention relates to a method and tool which allows users to create interactive representations of input and output data, and simulate the associated algorithms used to manipulate this data, that are used in spreadsheet applications and other similar software programs. The interactive simulation is visually represented by a customizable set of components which hereinafter will be referred to as a control pane. The control panels can consist of a variety of components which include user interface elements (such as sliders, buttons, and checkboxes), charts and maps. The underlying simulation is generated based on data sources within an application software program file (e.g., spreadsheet data cells) selected by the user during the control panel creation process.

Abstract: The presently described subject matter allows the user to interactively browse a collection of electronic files, such as a digital photo collection, remotely using a mobile telephone. Also, a user can record voice and text annotations from the mobile phone to preserve with an electronic file, and which is transported along with the file when it is displayed on a remote display device.

The method further includes digitally capturing a single finished image of the illustrated static image and enhancing the background, geometry and colors comprising the finished image. The single finished image is separated into a plurality of single color images with each single color image comprising only a portion of the single finished image comprising that specific color. A ordered presentation is built from the single colored images and the presentation is displayed.

Abstract: A theme creator includes an input unit for selecting and/or activating the theme creator, and a control unit configured to control the theme creator. The control unit is configured to receive image data transmitted by the camera when the theme creator has been selected and/or activated, and to change an appearance of the desktop and/or stand-by image depending on the image data from the camera and/or user input. A user may create his/her own theme such that a large number of preset themes and/or the use of an external theme editor could be avoided.

Abstract: In general, this disclosure describes techniques that employ user-defined values of properties of sections of an electronic presentation. As described herein, a user may configure a presentation to include a plurality of sections. Each of the sections includes zero or more slides of the electronic slide presentation. In addition to the slides associated with each section, each of the sections is associated with one or more properties having values that can be defined by an author of the presentation. Because the values of the properties of the sections are user-definable, these properties may, in some implementations of these techniques, enable the author of the presentation to use the sections in ways not possible in presentation applications that merely use sections as a means of grouping thumbnail images of slides for navigation among slides in an authoring interface.

Abstract: An image data display system classifies image data into a cluster based on a predetermined condition regardless of whether or not the image data conforms to DCF standard and displays information specific to the image data when displayed as a slide show. A CPU creates a cluster, including a plurality of the image data, and a slide show table having first and second cluster name candidates based on a FAT data or an Exif data and a third cluster name candidate input by a user. The image display screen combines any two of the above first, second, and third cluster name candidates and displays a list of the combined candidates as cluster names indicating contents of the image data. The user can select the cluster name in high visibility and can easily display the desired image data as the slide show.

Abstract: A user interface within a presentation program manages hierarchical relationships. A master view includes a thumbnail view that shows the hierarchical relationship between slide masters and layouts used within the presentation. In one example, the thumbnail view is a series of thumbnail tree-controls where each slide master is the top node of the tree control and the layouts are the children of the slide master. A user may copy, move, delete, and edit slide masters, layouts, and slides using the user interface. A contextual representation of slide master and layout commands may be shown in the same overall user interface space.

Abstract: A method for providing computer readable instructions for a presentation in a remote location is disclosed. In the method non-editable computer readable instructions for a presentation at a remote location are received from a central data storage via a data network. A user at the remote location then provides at least one set of computer readable instructions that are associated with the presentation. A modified presentation is presented at the remote location based on the non-editable set of computer readable instructions and the associated computer readable instructions. The associated computer readable instructions can then be sent to the central data storage for use in at least one subsequent execution of the presentation.
