Abstract: During a display of a slideshow of a composite image comprising a plurality of images, a user operates a print bookmark, resulting in composite images and individual images that can be printed being set and stored as print candidate images. By displaying, in a list, stored candidate images on a display unit as print candidate images, an image processing apparatus is provided which enables the user to specify a desired image for printing.

Abstract: An N-level inheritance model is provided to develop presentations. A hierarchical inheritance model includes master slides, custom layout slides, and slides including the material for the presentation. The inheritance model allows presentation authors to both define an overall look for the presentation as well as the ability to customize slide layouts individually. An author may create custom layouts that may be applied to a single slide as well as a set of slides. Properties that are defined at any level within the hierarchy may be inherited by the lower levels within the hierarchy. Each level within the presentation may also make an exception to an inherited property.

Abstract: A computer-implemented knowledge acquisition system which enables user to easily create and share electronic study material is disclosed. The system includes a content creation module which can be configured to receive question data and answer data input by a first user and create a package content file using the input data. The content creation module includes a multimedia library from which images, video, and audio can be selected for inclusion in the package content file. The system also has a package distribution module which allows users to send the package content files to one or more users using a variety of transferring techniques.

Abstract: A user interface for a computer device includes an image collage layout including a plurality of image receiving areas each configured to receive an image, a first control configured to select a number of the image receiving areas in the image collage layout, a second control configured to select tilt angles of one or more of the image receiving areas in the image collage layout, a third control configured to select an amount of padding between the image receiving areas in the image collage layout, and a fourth control configured to select a width of a canvas border for the image receiving areas in the image collage layout, wherein the first control, the second control, the third control, and the fourth control are configured to be actuated by a user.

Abstract: Disclosed is a computer-implemented method to create a presentation having at least one sheet, where each sheet contains one or more visual elements, as well as a system and computer program embodied on a computer-readable storage medium. The method includes, in response to input from a user, representing visual elements as depictions in a model, where each depiction depicts a single item in the model, where each item is a unit of information with a unique identifier, where each item can be depicted by at least one depiction and each depiction defines the visual representation of the item's information via the visual element. The method further includes, in response to a change to an item made by altering the visual element associated with the depiction of the item, automatically propagating the change to the item to all other depictions of the item across all sheets of the presentation. The method further includes updating the associated visual elements to reflect the change to the item.

The number of images to be placed on each page is determined based on the maximum number of images that can be included in each page of the electronic album. An electronic album in which a plurality of images are laid out on multiple pages in sequential order is created in accordance with the order of arrangement of a plurality of images and the number of images to be placed on each page.

Abstract: Embodiments for displaying multiple page files are disclosed. In an example embodiment, a plurality of files may be automatically displayed. For the respective files of the plurality of files, a count of pages may be determined, and at least one of the pages of the file may be displayed. Abstract: A system and method are set forth for remotely controlling a presentation from a portable electronic device so as to freeze a slide on a remote projector to permit searching for a desired slide on the portable electronic device and then continuing the presentation when searching is complete. In one embodiment, a switch is provided in a communication layer of a presentation application such that when the switch is turned off, communication is suspended between the portable electronic device and the projector, thereby permitting browsing on the portable electronic device without interrupting the presentation. When the switch is turned on the current slide information is transmitted from the portable electronic device to the projector.

Abstract: A system and method are set forth for remotely controlling a presentation in a loop mode to allow the presentation to continue in the absence of a communication channel between the portable electronic device and remote presentation device. In particular, the portable electronic device can issue a command to the remote presentation device to present the presentation in loop mode so that a user of the portable electronic device can leave the vicinity of the remote presentation device (e.g. out of communication range) while the presentation plays in loop mode.

Abstract: A slide kit creation system and method allows reviewers of a slide kit to insert non-textual comments, such as audio comments, to be associated with selected slides. In one embodiment, audio comments are transmitted to a host computer by telephone, and may be posted on the host computer for access by other reviewers. The audio comments may also be transcribed in text form. In another embodiment, comments may be associated with various portions of a video, in the same manner. A video navigation bar is coded to indicate which portions of the video are associated with comments. Alternatively, certain attributes of the video can be altered to indicate the presence of comments associated with specific scenes of the video.

Each of the users have the ability to add an image to the compilation and/or information with respect to the images in the compilation and each of the subsequent users are able to view the compilation of images and/or data provided in association with the images.

Abstract: This invention relates to a system for organizing, storing, retrieving and displaying spatially related images where such images may also be relatable within time or image modality parameters. The system includes a dynamically manipulable user interface capable of visually depicting one or more images in a registerable manner, and also depicting the orientation of the image or images in relation to the surrounding neighborhood. The inventive system provides for display of panoramic image sequences consisting of multiple rows with multiple images per row, or image sequences consisting of only a single image. In a preferred embodiment, images taken from the same perspective at different times can be overlaid, and the user manipulates the display to perform real-time compare and contrast between images. In an alternate embodiment, the registered images include those created by means of different imaging modes or modalities such as, for example, visible light images and thermographic images.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided in which a digital image is transmitted to a presentation projector resource over a wireless transmission medium using a reduced amount of transmission bandwidth by transmitting a subset of the digital image data. The subset image data may be a delta subset that represents those areas of the image that have changed since the previous transmission. Header data is provided to further describe the subset image data. A projector discovery logic selects a suitable projector resource based on the order or signal strength of the discovery replies. A wireless image transmission session is established with the selected projector resource during which the projector is unavailable to other devices. The subset image data may be compressed and transmission coordinated with the projector resource so that the data is sent only when it is ready to be received.

Abstract: A slide kit creation system and method allows reviewers of a slide kit to insert non-textual comments, such as audio comments, to be associated with selected slides. In one embodiment, audio comments are transmitted to a host computer by telephone, and may be posted on the host computer for access by other reviewers. The audio comments may also be transcribed in text form. In another embodiment, comments may be associated with various portions of a video, in the same manner. A video navigation bar is coded to indicate which portions of the video are associated with comments. Alternatively, certain attributes of the video can be altered to indicate the presence of comments associated with specific scenes of the video.

Abstract: A system includes a memory, a display, and a processor programmed to load a configuration program and an intelligent agenda program into the memory. The intelligent agenda program is adapted to interface with a slide presentation program and respond to a plurality of user inputs to a graphical user interface of the configuration program to create an intelligent agenda. The intelligent agenda is modified when the user selects the first display option to display only the title in the outline corresponding to the currently displayed slide, a preceding title located immediately before the title, and a following title located immediately after the title. The intelligent agenda is further modified when the user selects the second display option to limit a number of displayed lines of the outline to a line limitation.

Abstract: A system and method for creating, playing and modifying slide shows utilizes a graphic play area for sequentially displaying slides of slide shows. The graphic play area is configured to automatically add one or more objects placed in the graphic play area when a slide is displayed in the graphic play area such that the graphic objects are appended to that slide. Thus, the system and method allows a user to easily modify a slide show by simply placing one or more graphic objects, such as text, onto a slide currently being displayed in the graphic play area.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for comparing two slide decks using a compare service. The compare service generates a comparison analysis for the two slide decks based on a comparison theme selected by the user. The result of the analysis is displayed in a comparison display that includes a slide selector section, a slide pair viewer section, and a navigable change summary section. In one embodiment, the compare service allows the user to select preferred slides from the two slide decks displayed in the comparison display, and subsequently generates a new slide deck that contains only the preferred slides selected by the user.

A computing unit displays a presentation of a software application or a web page including a selectable item. The computing unit receives a position of the cursor and a selection of the selectable item. A pre-defined delay is initiated responsive to receiving the selection. A visual notification is presented onscreen to the audience responsive to the initiation of the delay. Presenting the visual notification facilitates detecting the cursor at the received position by the audience and indicates that an action responsive to the selection is to be executed. The delay is determined to be completed. The action is executed responsive to determining the completion of the delay.

The image sharing client application is to be executed on one or more of the processors to receive an update to an image being shared over a network with mobile electronic devices that each have their own current zoom level and their own currently visible area of the image. The image distribution application is to be executed on one or more of the processors to keep a record of the current zoom level and currently visible area for each of the plurality of mobile electronic devices and to selectively send image updates to the plurality of mobile electronic devices based on the current zoom level and currently viewable area of the mobile electronic devices.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for navigation within a set of audiovisual documents in an audiovisual apparatus. At least one document is recorded previously in the apparatus. Next, the apparatus receives a command of association of at least one identifier with the recorded document. Finally, the apparatus receives navigation commands for navigating around the list of recorded documents, the identifier or identifiers associated with the document is automatically reproduced when this document is selected. The invention also relates to an apparatus able to execute a software navigation module for using the process. According to improvements, the identifier is a video sequence, an audio sequence, a text or a still image.

Abstract: A method, system, and connector interface for transferring album artwork between a media player and an accessory. The method comprises obtaining, by the accessory, artwork information associated with album artwork from the media player; and obtaining, by the accessory, the album artwork from the media player based on the artwork information. According to the system and method disclosed herein, the media player and accessory may utilize a plurality of commands utilized in a variety of environments, such as within a connector interface system environment, to facilitate the transfer of album artwork.

Abstract: Techniques for accomplishing slide transitions in a presentation are disclosed. In accordance with these techniques, objects within the slides are identified, automatically or by a user, and each object is individually manipulable during slide transitions. The individual manipulation applied to each object during a transition may also be automatically determined or specified by a user. In certain embodiments, the persistence of an object between slides may be taken into account in the manipulation of the object during slide transition.

Abstract: A system for displaying slides of a presentation includes an editor module configured to generate a slide for the presentation based at least on content defined by a user. The system further includes a display module configured to generate display data for the presentation. The display data represents the slide of the presentation. The system further includes a user interface module configured to receive a selection of a portion of the slide based at least on a detected movement of a user input device across the slide. The display module is configured to enlarge the selected portion of the slide on the display in response to at least the movement of the user input device across the slide.

Abstract: A software program for creating features for use with a plurality of media objects in a sequence. The program comprises a feature component specifying a feature having parameters affecting at least one variable aspect of the feature. An indicator component identifies a position of the specified feature relative to the media objects in the sequence. The program comprises a sequence generator for modifying the specified feature by varying its parameters of the specified feature as a function of the position of the specified feature relative to the media objects and/or relative to other features in the sequence. The sequence generator also modifies the specified feature by varying its parameters of the feature as a function of the content of the media objects around it or to which it has been applied. A rendering component renders the specified feature according to the varied parameters at the identified position.

Abstract: A system displays a set of content slides on a graphical user interface. The system identifies navigation paths between content slides in the set of content slides, each navigation path indicating a destination content slide to be displayed after a source content slide upon user selection of a navigation choice during a presentation sequence of the content slides. For each identified navigation path, the system displays a visualization of that navigation path on the graphical user interface between the source content slide and the destination content slide associated with that navigation path. The system allows a user of the graphical user interface to alter a navigation path between content slides to change the association of that navigation path between at least one of the source content slide and the destination content slide to modify the presentation sequence of the content slides.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for forming one or more animation sequences used in animating a graphic. A semantic model of one or more semantic elements corresponding to content data is received. A presentation model of one or more presentation elements corresponding to objects is received. A set of one or more mappings is determined. The set of one or more mappings includes a mapping of each of said semantic elements to one or more presentation elements. The set of one or more mappings are traversed in an ordering in accordance with a selected animation sequence type specifying a set of objects that animate together. One or more animation sequences are built when performing the traversing step using each of the one or more mappings by applying one or more rules in accordance with a particular classification associated with each of the one or more mappings.

Abstract: A collaborative electronic presentation application is disclosed allowing real-time editing of an electronic presentation. The electronic presentation is made up of a plurality of scenes, each having one or more meeting objects or pods that display various information to participating users. Some of the participating users may have presentation rights while other users may have only viewing rights. Presenters may request to edit or prepare one of the scenes that is not currently active within the electronic presentation. When requested, the preparing presenter is shown the requested scene while each of the other meeting participants remain viewing the currently active scene. The preparing presenter may then edit the selected scene or even create a new scene to add to the presentation while the electronic presentation is in progress.

Abstract: Systems and methods for bookmarking multimedia documents include displaying multiple multimedia streams, creating bookmarks comprising time signatures and snapshots of each multimedia stream based upon single action cues from a user, associating snapshots with portions of multimedia streams, displaying bookmarks and displaying portions of a multimedia stream associated with selected snapshots.

Abstract: A user specifies in a database a plurality of files for inclusion in a randomized slide show of files so that only specified files are to be displayed. The plurality of files and the database can be stored on a remote server with user access through an electronic communications network. The user can save criteria for a particular configuration, including a list of predetermined categories associated with a life of the user from which to draw files, a number of files to display, a display duration, and a number of repetitions. A set of files from the plurality of files specified for inclusion in the slide show is randomly selected, responsive to user criteria. A display device displays the randomly selected set of files in the slide show. The steps of randomly selecting and displaying the set of files in the slide show are repeated.

Abstract: A computer-based narration assembly system and method provide an environment analogous to in-person sharing of photographs by utilizing spontaneous verbal narration or story-telling, together with manual indications by the story-teller of significant or relevant image portions. The system combines the verbal narration with automatic cinematic display manipulations that relate to the manual indications by the story-teller to form a multimedia production or “movie” from the display images. The cinematic display manipulations may include pans, zooms, fades, etc. that animate the display of the images and transitions between them.

Abstract: A non-linear slide presentation management for slide show programs. In a first aspect, the invention provides a method for non-linear slide presentations, comprising: interrupting a topic sequence of a slide presentation being currently shown; placing a slide identifier from the interrupted topic sequence on a stack; showing a new topic sequence of the slide presentation; and upon completion of the new topic sequence of the slide presentation, returning to the interrupted topic sequence by examining the stack to obtain the slide identifier from the interrupted topic sequence.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software applications for managing slide presentation content are described in the present disclosure. According to one embodiment, among many, a computer readable medium is configured to store instructions that are executable by a processing device. The computer readable medium comprises logic adapted to disassemble a plurality of slide presentations into a plurality of individual files, wherein each individual file corresponds to a single slide of a respective slide presentation. The computer readable medium also includes logic adapted to extract information from each slide and logic adapted to compare the extracted information from each slide and consolidate groups of slides that are substantially similar.
