Adjusting setscrews are used to laterally adjust the guiding wear plates, and positive return members are used to provide a tool retracting force in addition to that provided by a retracting spring.

Abstract: A push button release apparatus for releasing a door of a vehicle has a housing secured to the door of the vehicle. The housing defines a cavity. A push button supported by the housing is slidable relative to the housing and moves between an inoperative location and an operative location. A cam device pivotally supported about a pivotal axis has a first termination defining a cam surface that cooperates with the push button and a second termination connected to a cable. When the push button is moved from the inoperative location toward the operative location the cam rotates about the pivotal axis and the second termination of the cam device moves, pulling the cable for releasing the door of the vehicle.

Abstract: A portable cam and lever actuated press which utilizes the substantial force available from an air spring to actuate one or more lever arms. The substantial force available from an air spring and the specialty cam system provided allows the device to perform clinching, crimping, punching, stenciling, riveting, stamping, holding, or other operations which would normally be performed with much larger and heavier equipment when the proper punches and dies are installed onto the lever arms. The unit operates pneumatically without the need for hydraulics or hydraulically assisted components.

  • Patent number: 6647858
Abstract: An intelligent input push rod assembly for applying an input force from a brake pedal to a power booster of a brake system. The input push rod assembly includes a sensor that is capable of generating an electrical output having a magnitude that varies with the amount of force applied to the input push rod by the brake pedal. Preferably, the sensor generates an output voltage signal that is generally proportional to the input force applied to the input push rod. A shunt is provided so that springs associated with the sensor operate in a generally linear force-deflection operating range of the springs. The output signal generated by the sensor is applied to a brake light control system that is supported by the input push rod assembly. The brake light control system uses the signal generated by the sensor to determine whether the vehicle brake lights should be illuminated and also to cause direct illumination of the brake lights during a braking operation.

Abstract: A device for transferring a thrust, a fuel injection valve with such a device, and a method for manufacturing such a thrust transferring device. To transfer the thrust of an actuator, especially in an injection valve, mechanical tappets are used, which have substantially the shape of a cylinder whose defining surfaces are substantially triangular, with the corners rounded. By the great width of the tappet, broad contact areas are created so that friction during the transfer is reduced.

As the toggle lever extends, it pushes the brake pad closer to the surface to be slowed. Multiple toggle levers may be used to distribute the force across the brake pad. This configuration allows a single input from the incline to actuate both toggle levers. By adjusting the width of the incline actuating the toggle lever, the force on the brake pad may be adjusted.
