The locking member is normally and resiliently biased toward locking direction for establishing locking engagement with the projection member. The locking member is associated with a lock release actuator which is electrically operable and active for a predetermined period only when a predetermined safety condition is established.

The drive arm has a forward range to one side of a neutral position, and a backward range to the other side of the neutral position. When the selecting lever is switched to the forward mode, the drive arm is displaced within the forward range by the shift of the control member within the predetermined range. When the selecting lever is set to the backward mode, the drive arm is displaced within the backward range by the shift of the control member within the predetermined range.

    Abstract: A lost motion drive assembly has a base mounting upper and lower levers which connect to the louvers of an air plenum, such as in an automobile's ventilation system. A user turns a knob between a plurality of selections, causing a gear-operated actuator to rotate. A clutch mechanism operable between the actuator and levers engages the lower lever to drive it one way in response to rotation of the knob. Upon continued rotation of the knob, a drive lug on the actuator engages the upper lever to drive it the same way while the clutch disengages from the actuator and holds the lower lever fixed. Reverse motion is obtained when the clutch engages the actuator and upper lever, after which it releases the actuator and a second drive lug engages the lower lever to return it to its starting position.

    Abstract: A control system for regulating starting and various operations of a walk behind and self-propelled trencher. The control system conditions the trencher for forward, neutral, and reverse operation through use of a single control lever mounted for sliding movement in a common plane extending between a neutral/start position and a drive position and thence in another plane to forward or reverse positions to control the direction of the trencher. When the control lever is in a neutral/start position, a power assembly on the trencher is ineffective to drive wheels used to propel the trencher across a field. When the control lever is shifted to a drive position, a drive path is established between the power assembly and at least one of the wheels on the trencher. The control system is configured to allow the power assembly to be started only when the control lever is in a neutral/start position and prevents starting of the power assembly when the control lever is in other than a neutral/start position.

    Abstract: A mechanical component attachment safety system is disclosed wherein a position of a blcoking rod is controlled by an over-center lever assembly having a drive lever connected to the blocking rod by a cable actuating system and a link rod. Movement of the drive lever between its over-center positions causes the blocking rod to extend or retract, accordingly. When extended, the blocking rod will prevent closure of a cowl or protective panel and when retracted, will permit closure of the panel or cowl. The drive lever is engaged by a fastener attaching a mechanical component to a frame so as to be retained in a position in which the blocking rod is retracted. If the mechanical component is not properly attached, the fastener will not engage the drive lever, which is biased to its opposite over-center position so as to cause the extension of the blocking rod and prevent closure of the panel or cowl.

When the cylinder (14) is energized, the first roller (30) is moved to a locked condition. This forces a second roller (32) to its locked condition. Finally, the force is transmitted to a third roller (34) and the third roller (34) engages a notch (36) in the traveling rail member (18) to prevent movement of the same. When the assembly (10) is in the locked condition, no forces are transmitted from the rail (18) to the piston (16).

As such, when the plunger (30) follows the lever arm (15) the push-pull control cable (13) translates the dead bolt (60) out of engagement with the lock engaging lug (20), thereby freeing the transmission, operating range, drive selector.

An interlocking member is connected to the intermediate gear. When one rack is moved, the intermediate gear is moved in the same direction as the moved rack. The movement of the intermediate gear is transmitted to equipment to be controlled through the interlocking member.

The linkages are connected to a control assembly in the driver's compartment of the vehicle, the assembly having two moveable members for manually actuating the linkages. The control assembly has a mechanism for keeping the bypass valve closed during selected gears or modes of the transmission. This mechanism also prevents the the transmission from shifting gears when the bypass valve is open.

In this condition the actuating elements block a beam which is pivotted centrally to a bolt which in turn blocks a bar which is attached to the door's boltwork. When off-guard the coils are pulsed in the opposite direction to reverse the magnetization of the actuating elements so that they are attracted by the other poles of the associated magnets.

The bail disc is interconnected with the cable disc so that movement of the bail disc moves the cable disc to move the cable from its "off" position to its "on" position and release of said bail disc allows said cable disc and its cable to return to its "off" position. Additionally the housing includes the cable and wiring exiting through the same opening.
